Short track speed skater Hyun In-a wins S. Korea's first gold at Special Olympics

Kısa pist sürat patencisi Hyun In-a, cuma günü PyeongChang'da hala devam etmekte olan 10. Özel Olimpiyatlar Dünya Kış Oyunları'nda ev sahibi Güney Kore'nin ilk altınını aldı.

Hyun, sekizinci bölümün 500 metre kategorisinde 53.48 saniyeyle dört patenciyi geçti. Kanada'nın yarışmacısı Kathryn Saunders, 54.24 saniye ile ikinci sırada yer alırken, ardından Güney Koreli Kim Seung-mi takip etti.

Short track speed skater Hyun In-a grabbed the host South Korea's first gold medal at the ongoing 10th Special Olympics World Winter Games here in PyeongChang Friday.

Hyun topped four skaters the eighth division in 500 meters at 53.48 seconds. Kathryn Saunders of Canada took second place at 54.24 seconds, followed by another South Korean, Kim Seung-mi.

Güney Kore Devlet Başkanı Lee Myung-bak, cuma günü Pyeongchang'da yapılacak 2018 Kış Olimpiyat Oyunları için sağladığı katkılardan dolayı Uluslararası Olimpiyat Komitesi Başkanı Jacques Rogge'a devlet madalyası verdi.

Başkanlık Ofisi, çarşamba gününden beri ülkede dört günlük gezide olan Rogge'ın Spor Liyakat Nişanı'ndaki en yüksek madalya Cheongnyong Madalyası aldığını söyledi.

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak awarded a state medal to International Olympic Committee chief Jacques Rogge on Friday for his contribution to the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang.

Rogge, who has been on a four-day trip here since Wednesday, received the Cheongnyong Medal, the highest medal in the Order of Sport Merit, the presidential office said in a statement.

Özel Olimpiyat Oyunları'ndaki Herkes Podyuma Çıkıyor

11 yaşındaki Güney Koreli atlet Kim Dae-hyun, Pyeongchang'daki 2013 Özel Olimpiyatlar Dünya Kış Oyunları'nın kar kaykayı etkinliğinde düştü. Kalabalığın teşvikiyle hemen ayağa kalktı. Altıncı sırada bitirerek grubunda sonuncu oldu.

Kim, oyunlardaki en genç oyuncu ve sonuncu olmasına rağmen tebrik edildiği podyuma çıktı.

Bir Özel Olimpiyatlar geleneği olarak tüm oyuncular podyuma çıkacak. İlk üç atlet, madalyalarını alırken diğer kalanlara da kurdele verilecek.

Kim is the youngest athlete competing in the games, and although he finishes last, he still gets a trip to the podium where he is congratulated.

In the tradition of the Special Olympics, all athletes get to stand on the podium. They are all winners, with the top three athletes receiving medals and the rest being awarded ribbons.

Lee, 1,000 metrede 1 dakika 50.42 saniye ile rakiplerini geçerek Olimpiyatlardaki ikinci altınını kazandı. Güney Koreli Kim Hyun-ji ise, 1 dakika 51.04 saniye ile ikinci sırada yer aldı.

South Korea's Lee Ji-hye won gold in short track speed skating at the 10th Special Olympics for those with intellectual disabilities in PyeongChang Sunday.

Lee topped the third division in the 1,000 meters with a time of 1 minute, 50.42 seconds, grabbing her second gold of the Olympic Games. Kim Hyun-ji of South Korea took second place at 1 minute, 51.04 seconds.

Güney Kore'nin artistik patinaj yıldızı Kim Yu-na, organizatörlerin pazartesi günü yaptığı açıklamaya göre PyeongChang'da yapılan Özel Olimpiyatlar Dünya Kış Oyunları'nın kapanış töreninde idolü Michelle Kwan ile performans sergileyecek.

Seoul'ün 180 kilometre doğusundaki alp kasabasında yapılan 10. Dünya Kış Oyunları salı günü sona eriyor. Aralarında altı dünya şampiyonluğu bulunan Kim ve Kwan, buzda dans gösterisi gerçekleştirecek.

South Korean figure skating star Kim Yu-na will perform with her idol, Michelle Kwan of the U.S., in the closing ceremony of the Special Olympics World Winter Games in PyeongChang, organizers said Monday.

The 10th World Winter Games will close out Tuesday here in the alpine town, some 180 kilometers east of Seoul. Kim and Kwan, who have won six world championships between them, will put on an ice dance performance.

Park Seung-hi Wins 1,000M Gold in Short-Track World Cup

Park Seung-hi, Kısa Pist Dünya Kupasının 1,000 Metresinde Altın Madalya Kazandı

Vancouver Olimpiyatları'nın bronz madalya sahibi Park Seung-Hi, Rusya'da yapılan Dünya Kupası kısa pist sürat pateninde bayanlar 1000 metre kategorisinde şampiyon oldu.

Soçi'de yapılan bayanlar 1,000 metre finalinde, Park 1 dakika 30.553 saniye ile birinci olarak, Dünya Kupası kısa pist sürat pateninde üst üste ikinci kez altın madalyanın sahibi oldu. Park, geçen yıl Aralık ayında Şanghay'da yapılan bir önceki Dünya Kupası kısa pist sürat pateni etkinliğinde de bir altın madalya kazanmıştı.

Ayrıca Güney Koreli Shim Suk-hee de İngiltereli rakibi Elise Christie'den sonra 1000 metrede üçüncü oldu.

Güney Kore, Dünya Kupası kısa pist sürat pateninde üç altın madalya, bir gümüş ve iki bronz madalyanın sahibi oldu.

Vancouver Olympics bronze medalist Park Seung-hi has won the women’s 1,000-meter race at the short-track speedskating World Cup in Russia.

In the final of the women's 1,000-meter event on Sunday in Sochi, Park finished first with a time of one minute 30-point-553 seconds, winning a gold medal for the second consecutive time in a short-track speedskating World Cup. She won a gold at the previous World Cup short-track speedskating event in Shanghai in December last year.

Meanwhile, South Korea’s Shim Suk-hee came in third in the 1,000 meter after Elise Christie of Britain.

South Korea won three gold medals, one silver and two bronze in the short-track World Cup.

The 10th Special Olympics World Winter Games wrapped up Tuesday in PyeongChang, after eight days of celebrating the dreams and hopes of those with intellectual disabilities, and urging the international community to help improve the lives of the intellectually disabled.

The closing ceremony kicked off at 7 p.m. at Yongpyong Dome in PyeongChang, about 180 kilometers east of Seoul. More than 3,000 athletes and officials from 106 countries took part in this year's event, under the motto "Together, We Can."
