Various Int’l Conferences, Events to be Held in Seoul in October

Birçok uluslar arasi konferans ve kültürel etkinlik Ekim ayi boyunca Seul’de gerçeklestirilecek
Ilk olarak , en önemli Asya ülkelerini bir araya getiren 21 önemli sehirden olusan Asya Grubu, Ekim’in 10undan itibaren Seul,Tokyo ve Kuala Lumpur gibi 12 farli sehirden gelen temsilcileri bir araya getiren 2 günlük bir toplanti düzenleyecek.
Grup sahil kenarindaki bölgelerdeki gelisimi ve büyük felaketlere karsi alinacak tedbirleri görüsecek.

Cheonggye Nehri yakinindaki Sejong Sahne Sanatlari Merkezi’nde Ekim ayinin 20’sinden itibaren dört gün boyunca bir klasik müzik konseri, Çek film festivali ve Çek sanatçilarin yaptigi resim ve fotograf sergileri sergilenecek.

24 Ekim itibariyle Uluslararasi Toplu Tasima Derneginin Asya-Pasifik bölge subesi bir toplanti yapacak. Asya-Pasifik ülkelerinden 150 tasimacilik uzmani, Seul’de akilli tasimacilik sistemlerinin gelistirilmesini ve toplu tasimanin kullanimini arttirmanin yollarini konusacaklar.

First, the Asian Network of Major Cities 21, a gathering of key Asian cities, will hold a two-day plenary meeting in Seoul from October tenth, bringing together representatives from 12 cities, such as Seoul, Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur.

The network will discuss the development of waterside regions and measures to prevent massive disasters.

A classical concert, a Czech film festival and exhibitions of prints and photographs produced by Czech artists will be held at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and near the Cheonggye Stream for four days from October 20th. Those events will mark Prague’s Day in Seoul.

Starting October 24th, the Asian-Pacific regional branch of the International Association of Public Transport will hold a meeting. 150 transportation experts from Asia-Pacific countries will gather in Seoul to discuss the development of intelligent transportation systems and ways to boost the use of public transportation.

Hapishanelerdeki güvenlik kameralari ''hukuka uygun''

Anayasa mahkemesinin pazar günü yaptigi açiklamalara göre, mahkumlarin intihar etmesini engellemek için hapishanelere güvenlik kamerasi kurulmasi hukuka uygun bir davranis ve mahkumlarin insanlik haklarini ihlal etmiyor.

24 saat mahkumlarin yasamini kayda alan kameralarin hapishanede bulunanlarin anayasal haklarini zedelemedigine karar verildi ve bu nedenle hapis cezasina çarptirilmis bir mahkumun dilekçesi reddedildi.

Soyismi Seo olan mahkum, dilekçesinde sürekli her yaptiginin kayda alinmasinin itibarini zedeledigini ve gizlilik hakkini da ihlal ettigini beyan etmisti. Seo, kaydedilen görüntülerin kötüye kullanilabilecegini de eklemisti.

Surveillance cameras in prisons 'justifiable'

Surveillance cameras in prisons, installed to prevent suicides of inmates, are justifiable and do not infringe upon their human rights, the Constitutional Court said Sunday.

It ruled that the cameras that record the lives of prisoners 24 hours a day do not violate the inmates’ constitutional rights, dismissing a petition by a prisoner currently serving a sentence in jail.

The prisoner, surnamed Seo, claimed in the petition that the constant surveillance violates his dignity and that it also infringes on his right to privacy. Seo added that the recorded information could be misused.

Kuzey Koreli 9 Kaçak Güney Kore'ye Ulasti

Geçtigimiz ay ahsap bir tekneyle Japonya'ya ulasan Kuzey Koreli 9 kaçak, sali günü Seoul'a geldi.

Kaçaklar, 13 Eylül'de Japonya tarafindan kurtarilarak koruma altina alinmis ve Güney Kore'ye gönderilmek istediklerini beyan etmislerdi.

Incheon Havaalani'na vardiklarinda hemen korumalar esliginde haklarinda sorusturma baslatilmasi için Güney Kore polisine götürüldüler.

9 N.Korean Escapees Arrived in Seoul

A group of nine North Korean escapees who reached Japan on a wooden boat last month arrived in Seoul on Tuesday.

The escapees were rescued on September 13th and had been under protection in Japan where they requested to be sent to South Korea.

On arriving at Incheon Airport, they were immediately escorted for investigation to the South Korean police.

Gyeonghoiru, a pavilion inside Seoul's Gyeongbok Palace that was used to host banquets during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), is lit by lamps on Oct. 5, 2011. The Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea opened the palace to the public at nighttime the same day.

13th-century ship discovered

13. Yüzyildan Kalma Gemi Kesfedildi

Resimde görülen Kore’nin Goryeo Hanedanligi’na (918-1392) kadar uzanan batik gemiden toplanan boynuzlardan biri. Denizcilik Kültür Mirasi Ulusal Arastirma Enstitüsü (NRIMCH) tarafindan “Mado No. 3” ismi konulan gemi, yakin bir zamanda Güney Kore’nin bati limani Taean’in 12 metre uzunlugunda, 8 metre genisliginde ve 2,5 metre derinligindeki Mado kapali sularinda kesfedildi. Enstitü 6 Ekimde Seoul’deki bir basin toplantisinda, ahsam hafler ve “janggi (Kore satranci) taslarinin da aralarinda oldugu toplam 287 esya bulundugunu ve ahsam harflerin 1260 ve 1268 yillari arasinda bir zamanda battigi bilinen gemiden alindigini açikladi.

Seen here is one of the antlers collected from a sunken ship dating back to Korea's Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392). The ship, christened as "Mado No. 3," by the National Research Institute of Maritime Culture Heritage (NRIMCH) as it was recently discovered in the Mado waters off South Korea's western port county of Taean, 150 kilometers south of Seoul, is 12 meters long, 8 meters wide and 2.5 meters deep. The institute said at a news conference in Seoul on Oct. 6, 2001 that a total of 287 articles, including wooden letters and "janggi (Korean chess) stones, were retrieved from the ship that is known to have sunk some time between 1260 and 1268 by deciphering the wooden letters.

G. Kore'de kaçak yasayan isçi sayisi yükseliste

Güney Kore'de kaçak yasayan yabanci isçi sayisi, geçtigimiz üç yila nazaran neredeyse ikiye katlandi.

Adalet Bakanligi'nin yayinladigi verilere göre; bu yilin Haziran ayinda yapilan sayimlar, yaklasik 17 bin yabancinin çalisma izni bitmesine ragmen kaçak olarak G. Kore'de yasadigini gösteriyor.

Bu durum, 2008 yilinin Ocak ayindan bu yana kaçak yasayanlarin sayisinda %87'lik artis oldugunu da gösteriyor. 2008 yilinda Güney Kore'de yaklasik olarak 9000 kaçak yabanci isçi bulunmaktaydi.

Number of Workers Living Illegally in S.Korea on the Rise

The number of foreign workers living illegally in South Korea has almost doubled over the past three years.

According to data published by the Justice Ministry, as of a census of June this year, some 17-thousand foreigners were living in the nation after the expiration of their work permits.

This is an almost 87-percent jump from the roughly nine-thousand workers living illegally in the nation in January 2008. Currently, some 210-thousand foreign workers are living in South Korea on work permits.
