Civic Group to Visit NK to Discuss Relief Aid

A South Korean civic aid group will visit the North Korean city of Gaeseong on Saturday to discuss providing aid for victims of the nation's recent floods.

The Korea NGO Council for Cooperation with North Korea said on Friday that it will visit the city to discuss with the North’s National Reconciliation Council details on the relief aid.

Kizil Haç 4 Kuzey Koreli Balikçiyi Evine Gönderdi

Güney Kore Kizil Haçi persembe günü Kuzey Sinir Hatti (NLL) yakinindaki Sari Deniz’de Güney Kore Donanmasi tarafindan kurtarilan dört Kuzey Koreli balikçiyi eve gönderdi.

Kizil Haç, dört balikçinin da Kuzey Kore’ye gitmek istediklerini ve cuma günü de Panmunjeom ateskes köyü yoluyla geri gönderildiklerini açikladi.

Balikçilar Güney Hwanghae Eyaleti’nde bulunan Monggeum limanindan ayrilmis ve avlanirken Güney Kore sularina sürüklenmisti.

The South Korean Red Cross has sent four North Korean fishermen home after they were rescued by the South Korean Navy on Thursday in the Yellow Sea near the Northern Limit Line (NLL).

The Red Cross said the four fisherman all wished to be returned to the North and were sent back via the truce village of Panmunjeom on Friday.

The fisherman departed from the port of Monggeum in South Hwanghae Province and drifted into South Korean waters while fishing.

Descendants of freedom fighters visit Seoul

Özgürlük Savasçilarinin Torunlari Seoul’ü Ziyaret Etti

Kore özgürlük savasçilarinin torunlari Seodaemun Kurtulus Parki içindeki eski Seodaemun Cezaevi müzesini gezdi. Park simdi Japonya’nin 1910-1945 yillari arasinda uyguladigi sömürge döneminde ülkenin özgürlük eylemcilerinin anisina yapilan anitlara ev sahipligi yapiyor. Güney Kore hükümeti 15 Agustos’a kadar ülkenin kurtulusunun 66. yildönümünü anmak için ziyaretçileri davet ediyor.

The descendants of Korean independence fighters tour the museum inside the Seodaemun Independence Park, formerly the Seodaemun Prison. The park is now home to monuments commemorating the country's independence activists who fought Japan's 1910-45 colonial rule. The South Korean government invited the visitors to commemorate the 66th anniversary of the country's liberation, which falls on Aug. 15.

S. Korean man shot to death in Mexico

Yerel yetkililerin cumartesi günü yaptigi açiklamaya göre, Güney Koreli bir adam geçenlerde de bir Koreli vatandasin öldürüldügü Meksika’nin baskenti Mexico City yakinlarinda bilinmeyen bir saldirgan tarafindan vurularak öldürüldü.

A South Korean man was shot to death by an unknown assailant near Mexico City, local authorities said Saturday, in the latest death of a Korean national in Mexico's capital city.

The man, whose identity was withheld, was shot in the face several times in front of his own clothing shop in Sinaloa, north of Mexico City, on Thursday evening, local police said.

40% of S.Koreans: Longevity is Not a Blessing

Güney Korelilerin yüzde 40’indan fazlasi uzun ömürlü olmayi bir nimet olarak görmüyor.

30 ve 70 yaslari arasinda bin kisinin üzerinde yapilan bir ankette, ankete katilanlarin % 43,3’ü yüz yildan fazla yasamanin bir nimet olmadigini söyledi.

Anket Kore Saglik ve Sosyal Isler Enstitüsü tarafindan yapildi.

% 28,7’si uzun ömürlü olmanin bir nimet oldugunu söyledi.

More than 40 percent of South Koreans do not regard longevity as a blessing.

In a survey of one-thousand people who are aged between 30 and 70, 43-point-three percent of respondents said that living more than hundred years is not a blessing.

The survey was conducted by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs.

Twenty-eight-point-seven percent said that longevity is a blessing.

S.Korean Humanitarian Groups Discuss Flood Aid with NK

Kuzey Kore’ye yardim için giden 50 Güney Koreli sivil insani grup dernekleri temsilcileri selin vurdugu Kuzey Korelilere yardim etme görüsmeleri için Kuzey Kore’yi ziyaret ettikten sonra geri döndü.

Dernekten bir üst düzey yetkili cumartesi günü, iki Kore arasindaki toplantinin her iki tarafin delegelerinin de sel zararlari ile ilgili endiselerini ifade etmeleri ile dostane bir atmosferde gerçeklestigini açikladi.

Representatives from an association of 50 South Korean civilian humanitarian groups helping North Korea have returned home after visiting the North for discussions on offering aid to North Koreans hit by the recent flooding.

A senior official from the association said Saturday that the atmosphere of the inter-Korean meeting was held in friendly atmosphere with delegates from both sides expressing concerns about each other’s flood damages.
