Korean Embassy, Firms Discuss Security in Mexico

Kore Büyükelçiligi, Meksika’daki Firmanin Güvenligini Tartisti

Çarsamba günü Meksika’da iki Korelinin vurularak öldürülmesi ardindan Güney Kore büyükelçiligi ve Koreli sirket temsilcileri güvenlik önlemlerini tartisti.

Toplantiya katilanlar son günlerde bir dizi suçun içinde yer alan Koreli kurbanlari tartistilar ve büyükelçilik ve isletmeler gelecekteki suçlari önlemek için nasil hareket edilecegi hakkinda bilgi baylasti.

In Mexico, the South Korean embassy and Korean company representatives discussed security measures on Wednesday after two ethnic Koreans were shot to death in the country.

The meeting members discussed a series of crimes involving Korean victims in recent days and ways for the embassy and businesses to share information in a move to prevent future crimes.

Seoul Belediye Baskani Oh Se-hoon 17 Agustos’ta Seoul’ün merkezinde 24 Agustos’ta okullardaki yemeklerin ücretsiz olmasi için yapilacak olan referanduma Seoul vatandaslarini katilmalari için çagiran bir pankart tuttu. Daha önceden Oh’un “halkçi” olarak adlandirdigi harekete konsey bu yildan itibaren tüm ilkokullarda, 2012 yilindan itibaren de tüm liselerdeki ögrencilere ücretsiz ögle yemegi saglamaya karar vermisti.

Gov't to Devise Training Manual for Multiple Natural Disasters

Hükümet Bir Çok Dogal Afet Egitimi Için El Kitabi Hazirlayacak

Hükümet bu yilin sonuna kadar büyük çapli afetlere hazirlik ve tepkiler için bir egitim el kitabi hazirlayacak.

Kamu Yönetimi ve Güvenlik Bakanligi çarsamba günü yaptigi duyuruda, sistematik egitim yöntemleri hazirlamak amaciyla çesitli dogal afetlere verilecek tepkiyi anlatan kilavuz yurtdisindan bir sirket tarafindan hazirlanacagini açikladi.

The government will draw up by the end of this year a training manual for large-scale, multiple natural disaster preparations and responses.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security announced on Wednesday that it outsourced a research service company to draw up the manual in order to devise systematic training methods in response to various natural disasters.

Japon Likör Firmasi Kullandigi "Dogu Denizi" Ifadesini Kaldirdi

Japon likör sirketi Suntory Holdings internet sitesinde Kore yarimadasi ve Japonya arasindaki deniz için "Dogu Denizi" ifadesini kullanmisti ancak Japon internet kullanicilarinin itirazi üzerine ifadeyi sildi.

Japon medyasi, Suntory Holding'in sitede denizin Korece adinin kullanilmasinda Güney Kore ile yapacagi önemli soju isi Gyeongwol Green'in etkisi oldugunu söylüyor.

Suntory Holding ise Korece adini sadece reklam amaçli kullandiklarini, gerçek ismi olduguna dair baski yapmadiklarini söyledi ve müsterilerinden verdigi rahatsizliktan ötürü özür diledi.

Japanese liquor company Suntory Holdings marked the body of water between the Korean Peninsula and Japan as the “East Sea” on its Web site, but the term was deleted, however, upon objections by Japanese Internet users.

Japanese media said that Suntory Holdings marked the Korean name for the sea on its Web site in light of its business to import South Korean soju, Gyeongwol Green.

Suntory Holdings said that its use of the Korean name was for advertising purposes, not to express an opinion as to the “correct name.” It apologized for having offended its customers.

Nation's Quality of Life Ranks 27th Among Major Countries

Ülkenin Yasam Kalitesi Büyük Ülkeler Arasinda 27. Sirada

Ülkenin yasam kalitesi 2008 yilinda Ekonomik Isbirligi Teskilati, Kalkinma Örgütü (OECD) ve 20 Grubun 39 üyesinin arasinda 27. sirada yer aldi.

Devlet tarafindan isletilen Kore Kalkinma Enstitüsü (KKE) pazar günü 39 ülkenin büyüme motorlarini, yasam kalitesini, çevre ve altyapi siralamasini yayinladi.

Güney Kore 2000 ve 2008 yillarinin her ikisinde de 27. sirada yer aldi.

The nation’s quality of life ranked 27th in 2008 among 39 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Group of 20.

The state-run Korea Development Institute (KDI) on Sunday released rankings on growth engines, quality of life, environment and infrastructure of the 39 countries.

South Korea’s quality of life ranked low with 27th both in 2000 and 2008.

Farmers prepare to ship cabbages

Çiftçiler Lahana Nakliyesine Hazirlaniyor

Çiftçiler 21 Agustos’ta Seoul’ün 290 km dogusundaki Samcheok’daki bir tarlada lahana nakliyesine hazirlandi. Lahana fiyatlari bu yil 11-13 Eylül tarihlerindeki yaklasan Chuseok tatili öncesinde artmaya devam ediyor. Sonbahar hasati kutlamasi birçok Korelinin ailelerini ziyaret edip, atalarina saygilarini sunmak için memleketlerine gittikleri Kore’nin önemli geleneksel tatillerinden biridir.

Farmers prepare to ship cabbages at a highland field in Samcheok, 290 kilometers east of Seoul, on Aug. 21. Cabbage prices are continuing to soar higher ahead of the upcoming Chuseok holidays, which fall on Sept. 11-13 this year. The autumn harvest celebration is one of Korea's major traditional holidays, when many Koreans take long trips to their hometowns to visit their families and pay homage to their ancestors.
