S. Korea Develops More Generic Medicine as Society Ages

Güney Kore, Yaşlanan Toplum için Genel İlaçları Geliştiriyor

Güney Koreli firmalar, hızla artan ülke nüfusunda ileri yaşta olanlar için, sık görülen hastalıkların tedavisinde kullanılan genel ilaçları daha da geliştiriyorlar.
 
Gıda ve İlaç Güvenliği Bakanlığı, genel ilaçların geliştirilmesi ile ilgili biyoeşdeğerlilik testleri yapmak için geçtiğimiz yıl şirketlerin 163 tasarısını onayladığını söyledi.
 
Tasarıların % 60'dan fazlası, kardiyovasküler hastalıklar ve nöropsikiyatrik bozuklukların tedavisinde kullanılan ilaçlar ile ilgili idi. %30'u ise bunama, kaygı bozuklukları, depresyon ve epilepsi tedavisi üzerinde yoğunlaştı.
 
Biyoeşdeğerlik testlerle, genel ilaçların orijinal ilaç ile aynı etkiye sahip olup olmadığı kanıtlanmaktadır. Gıda ve İlaç Güvenliği Bakanlığı testler için önceden onay vermek zorundadır.
 
Bakanlık, yaşlanan toplumlarda görülen genellikle yüksek kan basıncı ve bunama da dahil, kronik hastalıkları tedavi etmek için aktif bir çaba olacağını tahmin ediyor. Ayrıca muhtemelen depresyon ve yüksek stres sonucu oluşan mide ülseri tedavisinde kullanmak için ilaçlar üretme çabalarının da olacağını söyledi.

South Korean firms are developing more generic medicine to treat common diseases for the elderly as the country’s population ages rapidly.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety said it approved 163 plans by companies last year to conduct bioequivalence tests related to developing generic drugs.

Of the plans, more than 60 percent were related to medicines to treat cardiovascular diseases and neuropsychiatric disorders. Thirty percent focused on treating dementia, anxiety disorders, depression and epilepsy.

Bioequivalence tests focus on proving that generic drugs have the same effect as the original medicine. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety must give approval beforehand for testing.

The ministry forecast there will be active efforts to treat chronic diseases often seen in aging societies, including high blood pressure and dementia. It said there will also likely be efforts to create drugs to treat depression and gastric ulcers, which result from high stress.

Güney Kore'nin Sahil Güvenlik devriye gemileri alanda bulunan yük gemilerinin petrol sızıntısını bildirmelerinin üç gün ardından 17 Şubat 2014 günü Busan'da su temizleme çalışması başlattı . Sahil Güvenlik, henüz sularda önemli petrol içeriği bulunmadığını söyledi.

Doctors to Strike from March 10

10 Mart Doktorlar Grevi

Güney Koreli doktorlar, hükümetin sağlık sektöründeki reform planı ile ilgili 10 Mart tarihinde greve gitmeye karar verdi.

Kore Tıp Derneği üyeleri cumartesi günü yaptıkları bir basın toplantısında, iş bırakma lehinde oy verdiklerini söyledi. Geçtiğimiz hafta, %70'i dernek üyesi olan 48 bin doktor online oylamaya katıldı. Seçmenlerin yüzde 76'sından daha fazlası grev lehine oy verdi.

Tıp Derneği, kar amacı gütmeyen hastaneler ve teletıp uygulamalarına izin veren planlamalar ile ilgili hükümetle anlaşmazlığa düşmüştü. Dernek ocak ayında, hükümetin taleplerini kabul etme konusunda başarısız olduğu takdirde greve gideceklerini duyurmuştu.

South Korean doctors have decided to go on a strike on March 10th over the government's medical sector reform plan.

The Korean Medical Association said in a news conference on Saturday that its members voted in favor of the walkout. Over the past week, 70 percent of the association members, or some 48-thousand doctors took part in the online vote. More than 76 percent of the voters were in favor of the strike.

The medical association has been at odds with the government over plans to allow for-profit hospitals and telemedicine practices. The association had announced in January it would go on strike if the government failed to accept its demands.
