Lee Urges Role of Gov't, School, Family on School Violence

Lee, Okul Siddetinde Hükümet, Okul ve Ailenin Rolünü Vurguladi

Devlet baskani Lee Myung-bak, okullardaki siddet olaylarinin kökünü kazimak için hükümet, okullar ve ailelerin her birinin sorumluluklarini yerine getirmelerinin gerektigini söyledi.

Orta Dogu'ya gitmeden önce kayda alinan haftalik konusmasinda Lee pazartesi günü hükümetin okullardaki siddeti engellemek için birtakim önlemler alacagini söyledi. Sosyal örgütler ve ajanslarin da egitim çevresini önemli ölçüde iyilestirmek için çaba harcamalari gerektigini ekledi.

Hükümetin okullardaki siddet üzerine kapsamli önlemlerinin 3 temel noktada özetlenebilecegini söyledi: saldirganlarin siddetle cezalandirilmasi, magdurlarin korunmasi ve egitim çevrelerinin güçlendirilmesi.

Devlet baskani, erken yastan itibaren iyi bir karakter olusturmanin en önemli sey oldugunu söyleyerek egitim programinin karakter olusturma egitiminin ve fiziksel egitimin daha fazla yönünü ele alacagina dair söz verdi.

President Lee Myung-bak says the government, schools and families should each fulfill their responsibilities to root out school violence.

In his biweekly radio address Monday that was prerecorded before he left for the Middle East, Lee said the government will announce a set of measures to eradicate school bullying. He added social organizations and agencies must join efforts to dramatically improve the education environment.

He said the government's comprehensive measures on school violence can be summarized into three key points: stern punishment of the offenders, protection of victims, and enhancement of the educational environment.

The president promised to have school curricula embrace more aspects of character building education and physical training, saying it's most important to build good character from early childhood.

Training program for foreign Korean teachers

Yabanci Korece Ögretmenleri Için Egitim Programi

Çek Cumhuriyeti’nin Charles Üniversitesi’nden Stepanka Horakova (solda) ve Bulgaristan’in Sofya Üniversitesi’nden Zaburtova Miroslava 6 Subatta Seoul’deki Konkuk Üniversitesi’nde bir egitim programina katildi. Ikisi yurt disinda Kore dili ögretimine katilan yabanci ögretim görevlilerinden davet edilmis olan 40’i arasinda yer aliyor. Üniversite bu alanda gerekli yeteneklerini gelistirmelerine yardimci olmak için programi düzenliyor.

Underage Students Heavier, Eyesight Weaker

Egitim bakanligi tarafindan yürütülen bir çalismada, ülkedeki ilkögretim ve lise ögrencilerinin 100 üzerinden 14'ü kilolu ve 10 kisiden 6'sinin görme yetenegi zayif.

Sonuçlar, geçen yil Egitim, Bilim ve Teknoloji Bakanligi tarafindan 180 bin ögrenci ile yaklasik 700 okul çapinda bir anketten elde edildi.

Yil içinde düsen artis oranlari ile önceki yila göre kiyasla Güney Koreli ögrencilerin boyu ve kilosu, 6.04 santimetreden daha uzun ve 8.85 kilogram daha agir.

Ögrencilerin %1.26'si ileri derece obez iken ögrencilerin %14.3'ü hafif kilolu, ve her ikisi de %0.05 puan ve %0.01 puanlik artis gösterdi.

Ayrica Güney Koreli ögrencilerin %57'sinin gözlük taktigi veya iki gözünden birinde 0.7den az görüs bozuklugu olmasiyla birlikte görme bozukluklarina sahip oldugu görüldü.

A study conducted by the education ministry showed that 14 out of 100 elementary to high school students in the country are overweight and six out of ten have weak eyesight.

The results were from a nationwide survey of roughly 700 schools with 180-thousand students last year by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Heights and weights of South Korean students were 6.04 centimeters taller and 8.85 kilograms heavier compared to 20 years prior, with increase rates easing over the years.

Obesity rate had increased as well, with 14.3 percent of students slightly overweight while 1.26 percent of students were heavily obese, both increasing 0.05 percentage points and 0.01 percentage points respectively.

South Korean students were also seen to have bad eyesight, with 57 percent wearing glasses or one of either eye measuring less than 0.7 in eyesight.
