Cold Spell Continues throughout the Nation

Ülke Genelinde Soguk Hava Dalgasi Sürüyor

Merkez bölge, Kuzey Jeolla Eyaleti ve Kuzey Gyeongsang Eyaletinde soguk hava dalgasi süreceginden bugün ülke genelinde düsük sicakliklar devam edecek. Soguk hava dalgasinin çarsambaya kadar devam etmesi bekleniyor.

Iç ve güney bölgelerde sicaklik -10 derece civarina düsecekken çarsamba sabah sicakligi Cheolwon'da -16 ve Seoul'de -11 derece olacak. Ögleden sonraki sicakliklar yurt çapinda -7 ile -3 derece arasinda degisecek ve Seoul'de sicaklik -7 derece olacak.

Bati Denizi ve Jeju Adasinda kar yagisi bugün ögleden sonra bir süreligine duracak fakat merkez bölgede gece geç saatlerde tekrar yagmaya baslayacak.

Kar yagisi çarsamba sabahi erken saatlere kadar devam edecek ve Bati Denizi ve Jeju Adasina 3 ila 10 cm kar yagisi getirecek. Merkez ve güneybati iç bölgelerde ek olarak 1 ila 5 cm kar yagacak.

Cold temperatures persist throughout the the nation today, as a cold wave advisory is maintained in the central region, North Jeolla Province and North Gyeongsang Province. The cold spell is expected to continue until Wednesday.

Wednesday’s morning temperatures will be negative 16 degrees Celsius in Cheolwon and negative-eleven degrees in Seoul, while temperatures will fall to around minus-ten degrees Celsius in the central and southern regions. Afternoon temperatures will range from minus-seven to minus-three degrees nationwide, with Seoul temperatures posting minus-seven degrees Celsius.

Snow in the West Sea and Jeju Island will stop for some time in the afternoon today, but will start falling once again late at night in the central region.

The snowfall will continue until early Wednesday morning, posting a three to ten centimeter precipitation in the West Sea and Jeju Island respectively. One to five centimeters of snow will additionally fall in the central and southwestern inland regions.

Metro Area Sees Snowfall of 3 cm Tuesday Night

Metropolitan Bölge Sali Gecesi 3 cm Kar Yagisi Gördü

Seoul'un çogu kesimi ve çevre bölgeler sali gecesi yogun kar yagisi yasadi.

Kore Meteoroloji Idaresi çarsamba günü, Seoul'de 2.8 cm ve Suwon'da 2.5 cm olmak üzere metropolitan bölgede yaklasik 3 cm kar görüldügünü söyledi.

Baskentteki bölge ofisleri, kari temizlemek ve yollarin buzlanmasini önlemek için yaklasik 2000 kisiyi kalsiyum klorid dökmekle görevlendirdi.

Bu çabalar sayesinde ana yollarda biriken kar eridi fakat küçük yol ve sokaklardaki karin çogu kaldi.

Seoul'de sabah sicakligi -11.6 dereceye düstü.

Dondurucu hava çarsamba günü merkez bölge, Kuzey Jeolla Eyaleti ve Kuzey Gyeongsang Eyaletinin iç kesimlerinde süren soguk hava dalgasiyla birlikte ülkeyi sarmaya devam edecek.

Most parts of Seoul and surrounding areas saw heavy snowfall on Tuesday night.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said Wednesday that around three centimeters of snow fell in the metro area, including two-point-eight centimeters in Seoul and two-and-a-half centimeters in Suwon.

District offices in the capital city mobilized roughly two-thousand people to disperse calcium chloride to clear the snow and prevent icy roads.

Thanks to such efforts, snow that had piled up in main roads melted but lots of snow remains in small roads and streets.

The morning low plunged to minus eleven-point-six degrees Celsius in Seoul.

Freezing weather will continue to grip the nation on Wednesday with a cold wave watch remaining in place for the central region, North Jeolla Province and the inland areas of North Gyeongsang Province.
