IMF proposes S. Korea raise key rate up to 4 pct

The International Monetary Fund Wednesday suggested South Korea normalize key rates and withdraw expansionary fiscal measures, citing strong performance by Asia's fourth-biggest economy due to robust exports and private sector demand.

An international financial conference on emerging markets, hosted by the Preparatory Committee for G20 Summit and Switzerland-based Financial Stability Board, opens at a Seoul hotel on Sept. 3. Launched in April 2009, the FSB includes all G-20 major economies.

Schwarzenegger Gelecek Hafta Güney Kore'de

BM Clifornia Eyalet Valisi Arnold Schwarzenegger, önümüzdeki hafta Kore'yi ziyaret edecek.

Kore'deki Amerikan Ticaret Komisyonu, Schwarzenegger'in sali günü baslayacak olan ülkeyi 2 günlük ziyaretinde ticaret delegasyonuna önderlik edecegini söyledi. Programinda Güney Koreli is adamlari ve tüccarlarla görüsmeler bulunmakta.

Schwarzenegger'in ziyareti büyük ilgi görmekte. Zira Güney Kore ve Çin'in de bulundugu 8 ülke, San Fransisco ve Los Angles ile iletisime geçerek, hizli tren projesi için kontrat yapma hakki kazanma yolunda birbirleriyle yarismaktadirlar.

Güney Kore, California'dan gelen tarimsal ürünlerin ulastirildigi en büyük 6. varis noktasidir.





Schwarzenegger to Visit S.Korea Next Week

The governor of the U.S. state of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, will visit South Korea next week.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea said Schwarzenegger will lead a trade delegation for a two-day visit to the nation that begins Tuesday. He is scheduled to meet with South Korean business and trade figures.

Schwarzenegger’s visit is drawing attention because eight countries, including South Korea and China, are vying to win a contract for a high-speed train project linking the cities of San Francisco and Los Angeles.

South Korea is the sixth largest trade destination for agricultural products from California.
