S. Korea to spend 1.7 tln won on poorer nations this year

Maliye Bakanliginin söyledigine göre, Güney Kore bu yil fakir ve az gelismis ülkelerin ekonomik ve endüstriyel altyapilarini gelistirmek için yapilan yardimda 1.7 trilyon won (1.52 milyar Amerikan dolari) harcayacak.

Bakanlik, harcamalarin 2011 Resmi Kalkinma Yardimi plani kapsaminda yapilacagini söyledi. Tasari, cuma günü Basbakan Kim Hwang-sik baskanligindaki hükümet komitesi tarafindan kabul edildi.

South Korea plans to spend around 1.7 trillion won (US$1.52 billion) this year in helping poor and less developed countries build economic and industrial infrastructure, the finance ministry said Sunday.

The spending will be carried out under its 2011 Official Development Assistance (ODA) plan, according to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. The plan was approved by a government committee presided over by Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik on Friday.

Hyundai Motor, 2012 Genesis'i tanitti.

Güney Korenin en geçis otomobil markasi olan Hyundai Motor Co, pazartesi günü, her yönüyle önceki sürümünden daha iyi performansi, yeni ve güçlü motoru ve lüks sedan tipi Genesis'in 2012 versiyonunu tanitti.

2012 Genesis, hem 3.8 MPI motordan yüzde 15.2lik artis saglayan, hem de 3.8 litrelik GDi ya da 3.3 litrelik Lambda motordan maksimum 334 beygir gücü üretebilir sekilde geliyor.

Hyundai Motor unveils 2012 Genesis

Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's largest automaker, on Monday unveiled the 2012 version of its luxury passenger sedan, the Genesis, with a new, powerful engine that outperforms its previous version in every aspect.

The 2012 Genesis comes with either a 3.3-liter Lambda engine or a 3.8-liter GDi engine that produces a maximum horsepower of 334, a 15.2 percent improvement from that of the 3.8 MPI engine.

Hükümet yetkililerinden birinin pazartesi dedigine göre, Güney Kore, bazi tedarikçiler tarafindan ihracati sinirlamak ve son günlerdeki nakillerle ile basa çikmak için stratejik olarak nadir bulunan madenlerin rezervlerini arttirmayi planliyor.

Bilgi ve Ekonomi Bakanligi'ndaki memur, acil stoklarin birikmesi planini yeniden degerlendirmeye sokuldugunu ve 2014 yilina kadar 100 gün boyunca normal üretimi korumak, yerel sirketlere kaynak saglamak ve stoklarini arttirmak için çalisacaklarini söyledi.

S. Korea to increase reserve of rare earth elements

South Korea plans to increase its strategic reserve of rare earth elements to cope with recent moves by some suppliers to limit exports, a government official said Monday.

The official at the Ministry of Knowledge Economy said Seoul has reassessed its emergency stockpile buildup plan and will work to increase stockpiles to provide local companies the resources to maintain normal production for up to 100 days by 2014.

S.Korea’s Coffee Imports Surge

Güney Kore geçen sene rekor miktarda kahve ithal etti.

Kore Gümrük Teskilati, ülkenin geçen yil 117 bin ton kahve ithal ettigini söyledi. Bu miktar 2009'dan yüzde 11.4 ve 2009'dan yüzde 27 daha fazla.

Vietnam'dan düsük fiyatli kahve ithali 2010'da yüzde 8.6 azaldi. Buna karsin Brezilya'dan pahali kahve ithali yüzde 46, Kolombiya'dan yapilan ithal ise yüzde 31 artti.

Küçük ölçekli kahve dükkanlari açan ya da evlerinde kahve hazirlamak için alan insanlarin tercih ettigi espresso makinelerinin ithali de 2009'a göre yüzde 63 artti ve 32 milyon dolara yükseldi.

Daha çok Güney Kore'nin kahve dükkanlari tarafindan tercih edilen Amerikan kahvesi ithali fiyatinin 10 gram için 123 won oldugu söylendi.

South Korea imported a record amount of coffee last year.

The Korea Customs Service said that the nation imported 117-thousand tons of coffee last year, up eleven-point-four percent from 2009 and 27 percent from 2006.

Imports of low-priced coffee from Vietnam dwindled eight-point-six percent year-on-year in 2010. By contrast, imports of high-priced coffee from Brazil jumped 46 percent and from Colombia 31 percent.

Imports of espresso machines also surged 63 percent from 2009 to 32 million dollars last year, which is being attributed to an increase in the number of people opening small-sized coffee shops or choosing to brew coffee themselves at home.

Import prices of U.S. coffee, which are the most preferred by South Korean coffee shops, were 123 won per ten grams.

SEOUL, 8 Mart (Yonhap) - Samsung Electronics Co sirketi yetkilileri Sali günü yaptiklari açiklamada, kablosuz-fidelity (WiFi)’yi üç selefinden daha ucuz olarak iç pazarda, Galaxy Tab’in okunur sürümünü baslatacagini bildirdiler.



Samsung Electronics, bu hafta Güney Kore'de çevrimiçi web sitesi ve perakende satis magazalari ile 600.000 ₩ (US $ 536) fiyata Galaxy Tab için ön siparisleri almaya basladi. Tanitim tarihi açiklanmadi.

Galaxy Tab, WiFi-only versiyonu olmasi disinda cep telefonu sebekesine baglantisi yoktur, tablet bilgisayar olarak ayni özelliklere sahiptir. Sesli arama yapamaz veya hücresel aglar üzerinden metin mesajlari gönderemez ancak WiFi aglari üzerinden internete erisim imkanina sahiptir.

Samsung cuts price for Galaxy Tab WiFi version :

SEOUL, March 8 (Yonhap)-- Samsung Electronics Co. will launch a wireless-fidelity (WiFi)-only version of the Galaxy Tab in the domestic market, which is one-third cheaper than its predecessor, the company said Tuesday.

Samsung Electronics started to receive pre-orders for the WiFi-only Galaxy Tab at the price of 600,000 won (US$536) this week through its online Web site and retail shops in South Korea. It did not disclose the launch date.

The WiFi-only version has the identical specifications as the Galaxy Tab tablet computer except that it lacks connectivity to the cellular network. It cannot make voice calls or send text messages through cellular networks but has access to the Internet through WiFi networks.

A Samsung spokesman said that the company has not determined the release date for the product and does not have details about the global launch.

Samsung's first Galaxy Tab, which made a global debut in October last year, costs about $900 without a two-year contract from mobile operators. Samsung sold 2 million Galaxy Tab computers to mobile operators as of January.

Samsung is also scheduled to release the Galaxy Tab that supports local telecom titan KT Corp.'s Wireless Broadband (WiBro), or mobile WiFi networks this month. The model is available exclusively through KT at around $800.

The company did not disclose pricing details, adding that prices will be negotiated with mobile operators.
