Kia Motor'un Dizayn Sefi Tom Kearns (ortada) ve dizayn ekibi, dün 2012 Chicago Araba Fuarinda tanitilan Track’ster konsept otomobilin yaninda poz verdiler. Araba, Kia'nin Soul box otomobilinin spor modeli ve 250 beygir gücüne ulasabilen 2.0 motora sahip.

Kearns, arabayi bir "bulldog"a benzeterek ekibin, derin etkileri olan bir otomobil olusturmak istediklerini söyledi.

Spor araba, çarpici turuncu ve beyaz renklerden olusturuldu ve 6 hizli vites ve 4 tekerlekli sürüs özelliklerine sahip.

Tom Kearns, middle, chief designer at Kia Motors, and his design team pose next to the Track’ster concept car, which was unveiled at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show yesterday. The car is a sportier version of Kia’s Soul box car and has a 2.0-liter engine that can produce up to 250 horsepower.

Kearns said the team wanted to create a car with a strong image, comparing it to a “bulldog.”

The coupe comes in a bold palette of orange and white and features a six-speed transmission and four-wheel drive.

Samsung Electronics to unveil new tablet computer in March

Samsung Elektronik Yeni Tablet Bilgisayarini Martta Piyasaya Sürecek

Güney Koreli teknoloji devi Samsung Elektronik Sti. sali günü, akilli cihaz pazarina daha fazla fayda saglama girisimiyle gelecek ay 7 inçlik yeni bir tablet bilgisayar çikaracaklarini söyledi.

Sirket, Galaxy Tab 2'yi gelecek ay Ingiltere'deki ilk tanitimindan itibaren global pazara çikaracagini söyledi. En yeni tablet bilgisayar Android isletim sisteminin Ice Cream Sandwich adli en güncel versiyonuyla çalisacak.

South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. said Tuesday that it will launch a new 7-inch tablet computer next month in a bid to further tap into the smart device market.

The company said that it will launch the Galaxy Tab 2 in global markets next month, starting with its debut in Britain. Its newest tablet computer will be run on the most up-to-date version of the Android operating system, called Ice Cream Sandwich.

Local Researchers Discover Breast Cancer Cause

Yerli Arastirmacilar Meme Kanseri Nedeni Buldu

Bir grup yerli arastirmaci, kromozom sayisindaki artis ve düsüsün meme kanseri olusumuyla ilgili oldugunu söylüyor.

Seoul Ulusal Üniversitesi Profesörü Lee Hyun-sook liderligindeki grup, meme kanseri tümörü supresör genleri mutasyona ugradiginda, mutasyonlarin kromozom sayisini degistirdigini ve bunun da kanser olusumuyla sonuçlandigini buldu.

Grup, meme kanseri supresör genlerinin pankreas ve yumurtalik kanseri gibi diger kanserlerle de ilgili oldugunu dogruladi.

Arastirmacilar, kanser tedavisi gelistirme çabalarinin parçasi olarak hücre bölünmesi ve kanser olusumu arasindaki iliskiyi ögrenmeyi planliyor.

Grubun son kesfi, önde gelen bilim dergisi “Developmental Cell”'de yayinlandi.

A group of local researchers says a rise or fall in the number of chromosomes is related to the development of breast cancer.

The group led by Seoul National University Professor Lee Hyun-sook found that when breast cancer tumor suppressor genes mutate, the mutations change the number of chromosomes resulting in the creation of cancer.

The group confirmed that the breast cancer suppressor genes are also related to other cancers such as pancreatic and ovarian cancer.

The researchers plan to find out the relationship between cell division and formation of cancer as part of efforts to develop cancer treatments.

The group’s recent discovery was published in the leading life science journal, “Developmental Cell.”

S. Korea develops technology to jam electronic signals: source

Askeri bir kaynak pazar günü, Güney Kore'nin elektronik savas için elektronik sinyal bozan bir teknoloji gelistirdigini söyledi.

Kaynak, "Savunma Gelistirme Ajansi(ADD), elektronik araçlari bozmak üzere elektromanyetik sinyal gelistirdi," dedi. "ADD bu teknolojiyi 1999'da gelistirmeye basladi."

Kaynaga göre ADD bu ilk teknolojiyi gelistirmeyi ilerletecek ve fazla siklikta elektromanyetik sinyal göndermek üzere güç gelistirecek. Kaynak, ADD'nin daha sonra gelismis güçte elektromanyetik bomba gelistirmeye yönelecegini ekledi.

South Korea has developed a technology to disrupt electronic signals in electronic warfare, a military source said Sunday.

"The Agency for Defense Development (ADD) has recently developed electromagnetic pulse (EMP) technology to paralyze electronic devices," the source said. "The ADD began working on this technology in 1999."

According to the source, the ADD will further build on this primary technology and develop capabilities to repeatedly send EMP signals at high frequencies. The ADD will then look to develop EMP bombs with advanced capabilities, the source added.

Persembe günü hükümet, Güney Koreli bilimadamlarinin günes isigindan hidrojen üretim verimliligini önemli ölçüde artirabilen fotokatalist gelistirdi.

Egitim, Bilim ve Teknoloji Bakanligi, Pohang Bilim ve Teknoloji Üniversitesi (POSTECH) kimya mühendisligi profesörü Lee Jae-sung baskanligindaki bir arastirma ekibi, büyük miktarda hidrojen yapmak için bir yöntem gelistirdi, dedi.

South Korean scientists have developed a photocatalyst that can significantly increase the efficiency of producing hydrogen from sunlight, the government said Thursday.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said a research team led by Lee Jae-sung, a professor of chemical engineering from the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), devised a method to make large quantities of hydrogen.
