S.Korean Scientists Identify Gene Fusion Causing Lung Cancer

Güney Koreli Bilimadamlari Akciger Kanserine Neden Olan Gen Füzyonu Saptadi

Güney Koreli bilim adamlari, akciger kanserine yol açabilen bilinmeyen bir gen füzyonu asamasi saptadi.

Seoul Ulusal Üniversitesi Hastanesinden Profesör Seo Jeong-sun baskanligindaki bir arastirma ekibi cuma günü, daha önce bilinmeyen, akciger kanserine yol açan bir gen mutasyonu belirlediklerini söyledi. Bu bulgu, ekip bir akciger kanseri hastasinin dokularinin gen dizilimini analiz ederken ortaya çikarildi.

Arastirmacilar bu basarinin akciger kanseri teshisine ve akciger kanseri tedavisinde daha etkili ilaçlarin gelistirilmesine katkida bulunacagini düsünüyor.

Arastirma sonuçlari, Genome Research dergisinin cuma günkü sayisinda çikti.

South Korean scientists have identified an unknown gene fusion process that may cause lung cancer.

A research team led by Professor Seo Jeong-sun from Seoul National University Hospital said on Friday that it has identified a previously unknown gene mutation that causes lung cancer. The finding was discovered when the team analyzed the genome sequencing of a lung cancer patient’s tissues.

The researchers expect the achievement will contribute to the diagnosis of lung cancer and the development of more effective medicine in lung cancer treatment.

The results of the study appeared on the Friday edition of the journal Genome Research.

The Walt Disney Company has agreed to provide 3D content to LG Electronics Co., the South Korean 3D TV maker said on Dec. 28, 2011. The first provision on Dec. 29 will be a 3D version of the animated film "The Lion King."

World's Second Stem Cell Drugs Soon to be Released

Dünyanin 2. Kök Hücre Ilaci Piyasaya Çikacak

Dünyanin 2. embriyonik kök hücre tedavisi yakinda Güney Kore'de piyasaya sürülecek.

Bu, dünyanin ilk kök hücre tedavisi Hearticellgram-AMI'den sonra ülkenin bu tür ikinci tedavisi.

Kore Gida ve Ilaç Idaresi, iki kök hücre ürününü de yeniden kikirdak olusturduklari ve anal fistülü tedavi ettiklerinden dolayi ocak ayinin sonlarinda onaylayacagini söyledi.

Kikirdak tedavisi ilaci Cartistem, zedelenmis diz kikirdagi için kullanilacak. Fistül tedavisinde direkt olarak hastadan alinan kök hücreler kullaniliyor.

Iki ilaç da son onaylamadan sonra, 1-2 ay içinde mevcut duruma gelecek.

The world’s second embryonic stem cell treatment is soon to be released in South Korea.

This will be the country’s second such treatment after the world’s first stem cell medication, Hearticellgram-AMI.

The Korea Food and Drug Administration said it will approve two stem cell products for recreating cartilage and
treating anal fistula later in January.

The cartilage treatment drug Cartistem will be used for damaged knee cartilage. The fistula treatment uses stem cells taken directly from the patient.

Both drugs will be available within one or two months after final approval.
