Personal Info of Online Game Subscribers Leaked

Online Oyun Abonelerinin Kisisel Bilgileri Sizdirildi

Bilgisayar korsanlari, sektörün liderlerinden biri olan Nexen tarafindan gelistirilen popüler bir oyunun 10 milyondan fazla abonesinin kisisel bilgilerine ulasti.

Kore Iletisim Komisyonu(KIK) ve sözkonusu oyun Maple Story'nin gelistiricisi Nexe, cuma günü sirketin yedekleme sunucusunun hacklendigini ve bunun da 13 milyon abonenin kisisel bilgilerinin ele geçirilmesiyle sonuçlandigini söyledi. Nexen toplamda 18 milyon aboneye sahip.

Nexen persembe günü bilgi sizintisini dogruladi ve cuma ögleden sonra saat 5 civarinda KIK'na bilgi verdi. Cuma günü polisten de arastirma yapmasi istendi.

Bu, agustosta sosyal ag servisi Cyworld ve portal site Nate'nin 35 milyon abonesinin kisisel bilgilerinin sizdirilmasindan sonraki en büyük ikinci özel bilgi sizdirma olayi.

Hackers have accessed the personal information of more than ten million subscribers to a popular online game developed by one of the industry’s leaders, Nexen.

The Korea Communications Commission and Nexen, developer of the game in question, Maple Story, said Friday that the company’s backup server was hacked, resulting in the leak of 13 million subscribers’ personal information. Nexen has a total of 18-million subscribers.

Nexen confirmed the leak on Thursday and informed the KCC at around five o’clock Friday afternoon. It also asked the police to investigate on Friday.

This is the second largest ever private information leak after the personal information of some 35-million subscribers of the social network service (SNS) Cyworld and portal site Nate were leaked in August.

A KCC team is investigating to determine if there was any negligence on the part of Nexen and whether the game developer has violated laws on privacy.

South Korea's Kia Motors Corp. unveiled its new utility vehicle Ray at a ceremony on South Korea's resort island of Jeju on Nov. 29, 2011. The Ray is 3595 millimeters long, 1595 millimeters wide and is 1700 millimeters tall, and has 78 horsepower.

KMA to Provide Real-time Weather Forecast Through Car Navigation Systems

Kore Meteoroloji Idaresi(KMI) Araba Navigasyon Sistemleri Yoluyla Gerçek Zamanli Hava Tahminleri Saglayacak

Kore Meteoroloji Idaresi, sürücüler için araç navigasyon sistemleri yoluyla hava durumu tahmini saglayacak.

Hava durumu dairesi pazartesi günü, ayin sonunda bir test süresinden sonra gelecek yil Ocak ya da Subat'ta "weavigation" adli servisi baslatacagini söyledi. Bu isim "weather(hava durumu)" ve "navigation(navigasyon)" kelimelerinin birlesimi.

Yönetim, hava durumu bilgisini dijital bir multimedya yayin(DMB) frekansi kullanarak saglayacagini söyledi. Yönetim, sürücülerin "weavigation" servisini kullanarak bulunduklari bölgenin gerçek zamanli hava durumu bilgisini navigasyon sistemlerinin ekraninda görebileceklerini ekledi.

The Korea Meteorological Administration will provide a weather forecast service for drivers through vehicle navigation systems.

The weather agency on Monday said it will launch the service called “weavigation” in January or February next year after a test run at the end of the month. The name is a combination of the words “weather” and “navigation.”

The administration said it will provide weather information using a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) frequency. It added by using the “weavigation” service, drivers can see real-time weather information of the region they are in on the screen of the navigation system.

Total Lunar Eclipse to be Visible on Korean Peninsula

Tam Ay Tutulmasi Kore Yarimadasindan Görünecek

Kore Astronomi ve Uzay Bilimi Enstitüsüne göre tam bir ay tutulmasi cumartesi gecesi havanin açik olmasi durumunda Kore yarimadasindaki herhangi bir konumdan gözlenebilecek.

Enstitüsüye göre Dünya cumartesi aksami saat 21:45'de ayin tutulmasina neden olmaya basliyacak. Tam tutulma saat gece 23:23'de gözlenebilinir.

Tam tutulma ay tamamen dünyanin gölgesi altinda kaldiginda gerçeklesir.

Olay boyunca ayin rengi kizila çalmaya baslayacak ve pazar günü saat tam 02:32'te tutulma bitince normal haline dönecek.

Bu tam tutulma kore yarimadasinda 2000 yilininin Temmuz ayindan beri görülen ilk tam tutulma olacak. Sonraki tutulmanin tarihi 31 Ocak 2018.

The Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute says a total lunar eclipse will be visible from any location on the Korean Peninsula on Saturday night if the weather is clear.

The institute said on Tuesday that the Earth will start to eclipse the moon at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday and the total eclipse could be observed at 11:23 p.m.

A total eclipse occurs when the moon passes completely behind the Earth’s shadow.

The moon will appear to turn red during the event and it will look normal again from 2:32 a.m. on Sunday when the eclipse ends.

This will be the first total lunar eclipse visible from the peninsula since July 2000. The next such eclipse will occur on January 31st 2018.

Arastirmacilar, Korece Ögrenimi Için Robot Gelistirdi

Yerel bir arastirma grubu, Korece dilinin (Hangeul) telâffuz ögelerini esas alarak Kore alfabesini okuyup telâffuz edebilen bir robot gelistirdi.

"HangulBot" adi verilen robot, Pohang Bilim ve Teknoloji Üniversitesi profesörlerinden Profesör Kwak So-na'nin önderligini yaptigi bir arastirma takimi tarafindan gelistirildi.

HangulBot, Uluslararasi Toplumsal Robot Bilimi konferansi'nda %35 oraninda oy alarak "Jürinin Gözdesi" ödülünü elde etti. Konferans, geçtigimiz ayin sonunda Amsterdam'da düzenlenmisti.

Researchers Develop Robot for Learning Hangeul

A group of local researchers has developed a robot that can read and pronounce the Korean alphabet, Hangeul, based on the phonetic values of the language.

The "HangulBot" was developed by a research team led by Pohang University of Science and Technology Professor Kwak So-na.

HangulBot won the “Delegate’s Choice” award at the International Conference on Social Robotics after winning 35 percent support. The conference was held in Amsterdam late last month.

Cumartesi günü aksam saat 21.45'te ayin kararmasi basladi ve tam ay tutulmasi 23.05'e kadar yaklasik 50 dakika boyunca gözlemlendi.

Tutulmasi sirasinda ayin çevresinde kirmizi bir gölge görüldü. Ay, gece yarisindan itibaren yavas yavas görünmeye basladi ve pazar günü saat 01.20 'de parlak Dolunay seklini aldi.

Cümartesi günü gerçeklesen tutulma, Temmuz 2000 yilindan bu zamana yarimadada görülen ilk ay tutulmasi oldu. Bir sonraki tutulma 31 Ocak 2018 tarihinde gerçeklesecek.

A total lunar eclipse has been observed on the Korean Peninsula.

The Earth started to cast its shadow over the moon at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday and the total eclipse was observed for about 50 minutes from 11:05 p.m.

The moon, which turned to a shade of red during the event, was gradually visible from midnight and became a full bright moon as usual at 1:20 a.m. on Sunday.

The Saturday eclipse was the first total lunar eclipse visible from the peninsula since July 2000. The next such eclipse will occur on January 31st 2018.

A domestic team of researchers has developed a method to separate nano-sized molecules.

A Sogang University research team led by chemistry professor Yoon Kyung-byung said that it separated different molecules using a zeolite molecular sieve, which is a crystalline high-porous material.

The team said the method will enable people to easily separate what they want from compounds of various molecules at low costs.

The team is planning to use the method to separate carbon dioxide from air for the development of a technology that will help address climate change.
