Nation Wins Int'l Astronomy Olympiad

Güney Kore, Uluslararasi Astronomi Olimpiyatlari'ni Kazandi

Güney Kore, 16. Ulsulararasi Astronomi Olimpiyatlari'ni (IAO) kazandi.

22 Eylül'de Kazakistan Alma-ata'da düzenlenen etkinlikte Güney Kore takimi alti altin madalya ve iki gümüs madalya kazandi.

Seoul Bilim Lisesinden Lee Wan-hee, büyük ögrencilerin bulundugu Beta Grup'ta birinci sirada yer aldi.

Bu yilla birlikte, 2003 yilindan beri düzenlenen etkinlikte Güney Kore dört kez birinci oldu.

17. IAO gelecek yil Jeolla Eyaleti'ndeki Gwangju sehrinde düzenlenecek.

South Korea has won the 16th International Astronomy Olympiad (IAO).

In the event held from September 22nd in Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan, the South Korean team won six gold medals and two silver medals.

Lee Wan-hee from Seoul Science High School ranked first in the Beta Group, which is comprised of the older students.

Including this year, the nation has won the event four times since it first participated in 2003.

The 17th IAO will be held in Gwangju, Jeolla Province next year.

S. Korea shows off radar-equipped satellite at int'l congress

G. Kore Uluslararasi Kongrede Radar Donanimli Uyduyu Sergiledi

Ziyaretçiler 3 Ekimde Cape Town’da 62. Uluslararasi Uzay Kongresi’nin yapildigi dünya çapindaki konferans ile ilgili en büyük alana sahip olan ve devlet tarafindan isletilen Kore Havacilik ve Uzay Arastirma Enstitüsü (KARI) standindaki Arirang 5 uydusunun modelini inceledi. KARI gelecek yil radar donanimli ilk uydusu Arirang 5’i yörüngeye firlatmayi planliyor.

Hanyang Universitesi bilim adamlari yapay kas olarak kullanmak için çok ince sentetik bir elyaf gelistirdiler.

Profesör Kim Seon-Jeong öncülügündeki bilim adamlari hareket etme imkani saglayan yapay kas üretimi yeni nesil karbon nano tüp malzeme kullanmak için Amerika Birlesik Devletleri ve Avustralyali arastirmacilar ile isbirligi yapti.

Ekip polimer milimetre mikro robotlar 250 derece dönme olanagi taniyor dedi.

Scientists Develop New Material for Artificial Muscle


Scientists at Hanyang University have developed a very fine synthetic fiber to be used as artificial muscle.

The team of scientists led by Professor Kim Seon-Jeong collaborated with U.S. and Australian researchers to use the next-generation carbon nanotube material in the production of artificial muscle that allows rotation.

The team said one millimeter of the polymer can rotate 250 degrees, which enables it to be used in the motors of micro robots.

Cuma günü, Gyeonggi Eyaletindeki Ilsan'da KINTEX kongre merkezinde dört gün sürecek olan bir robot fuari açildi.

Koreli robotun elinde bir çiçek buketiyle ileriye dogru yürüdügü görülüyor. Bir sarkinin akorduna gülüyor ve kaslarini çatiyor. Ayrica çesitli duygulari da ifade edebiliyor.

Fransa'dan bir insansi robotun dans ettigi, basini egdigi, oturdugu ve kalktigi gösterildi. Hareketleri dogal ve insana benziyor.

Uluslararasi bir robot yarismasi kazanan "Charley" adinda ABDli bir robot, gögsüne vurdu, fakat sendelemedi ve kolaylikla dengesini korudu.

Sadece filmlerde görülen bu insansi sanatin devlet robotlari, muhtemelen yakin bir gelecekte gerçege dönüsecektir.

A robot exhibition has opened at the KINTEX convention center in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province on Friday for a four-day run.

A Korean robot is seen walking forward, holding a flower bouquet. It smiles and frowns to the tune of a song. It can also express several feelings.

A humanoid robot from France is shown dancing, bending its head, and sitting down and standing up. Its movements are natural and humanlike.

A U.S. robot named “Charley,” which has won an international robot competition, is hit in the chest, but it doesn’t stumble and easily maintains its balance.

These state-of-the-art humanoid robots, which have been seen only in movies, will likely come to reality in the near future.
