No. of Parliamentary Seats to Increase to 300

Parlamento Koltugu Sayisi 300'e Yükselecek

Ulusal Meclisin siyasi reform özel komitesi pazartesi günü bir oturum düzenleyerek iki seçim bölgesini kaldirip Ulusal Mecliste 300 koltuk için 3 yeni seçim bölgesi olusturdu.

Pazartesi günkü toplantida özel komite 3 yeni seçim bölgesi ekleme karari aldi: Sejong sehri, Gyeonggi Eyaletindeki Paju, Gangwon Eyaletindeki Wonju.

Komite iki seçim bölgesinin kaldirilmasina da karar verdi: Güney Gyeongsang ve Güney Jeolla bölgelerinin ikisinde de seçim bölgelerinin birlestirilmesi.

Seçim bölgelerinin düzenlenmesi, bu bölgelerin sayisini 245'ten 246'ya çikaracak fakat oransal koltuk sayisi toplam 300 koltuk için 54'te kalacak.

Komite, Gyeonggi Eyaletindeki Yongin ve Güney Chungcheong Eyaletindeki Cheonan sehirlerinde seçim bölgelerinin sinirlarini da belirledi.

The National Assembly’s special committee on political reform convened a full session on Monday and agreed to eliminate two electoral districts and create three new districts for a total of 300 seats in the National Assembly.

During Monday’s meeting, the special committee decided to add three new electoral districts: Sejong Administrative City, Paju in Gyeonggi Province and Wonju in Gangwon Province.

The committee also agreed to remove two electoral districts: one each in South Gyeongsang and South Jeolla provinces by merging constituencies in those areas.

The electoral district rezoning will increase the number of constituencies from 245 to 246, but the number of proportional seats will remain the same at 54 for a total of 300 seats.

The committee also coordinated the boundaries of electoral districts in the city of Yongin in Gyeonggi Province and Cheonan in South Chungcheong Province.

Gov't Approves Increase of Seats in Parliament

Hükümet Parlamentodaki Koltuk Sayisi Artirilmasini Onayladi

Hükümet, 19. Ulusal Meclis için parlamentodaki koltuk sayisini 299'dan 300'e çikaracak tasariyi onayladi.

Hükümet sali günü, devlet baskani Lee Myung-bak'in baskanlik ettigi kabine toplantisinda tasariyi ve 8 baskanlik kararini içeren üç degisikligi onayladi.

Onaylanan düzenlemeler altinda, sosyal ag servisleri yoluyla seçim kampanyalarina izin verilecek ve çarpitilmis seçim sonuçlari bildirmek ve dayanaksiz seçim sonuçlari tahmini yasaklanacak.

The government has approved a bill that will increase the number of seats in parliament from 299 to 300 only for the 19th National Assembly.

The government on Tuesday approved three revisions including the bill and eight presidential decrees in a cabinet meeting chaired by President Lee Myung-bak.

Under the approved revisions, campaigning through social networking services (SNS) will be allowed, and reporting distorted poll results or predicting groundless election results will be banned.

Ruling Party Vows to Nominate Able Candidates for General Elections

Iktidar Partisi Genel Seçimler Için Güçlü Adaylar Çikarma Sözü Verdi

Iktidardaki Saenuri Partisinin acil liderlik komitesi baskani, partinin Nisan genel seçimleri için muktedir adaylar seçecegine dair söz verdi.

Park Geun-hye KBS Radyodaki önceden kaydedilmis konusmasinda sali günü, partinin halka verdigi sözü yerine getirebilecek ve halkin yasamini gelistirmeyi öncelik edinecek kararli adaylar çikaracagini söyledi.

Park partinin, yakindaki seçimleri partinin siyaset ve politik yollardaki reformunun baslangiç noktasi olarak gördügünü söyledi. Genel seçimlerin, insanlarin hayatta karsilastigi zorluklari çözmeye ve daha iyi bir gelecek saglamaya odaklanmasi gerektigini ekledi.

Saenuri Partisinin refah ve ekonomik demokratiklesmeyle ilgili politikalarinin bu amaci merkez aldigini vurgulayarak, çok çalismayla herkesin hayallerini gerçeklestirebilecegi bir toplumun olusturulmasi gerektigini de söyledi.

The head of the ruling Saenuri Party’s emergency leadership committee has vowed that the party will select "able" candidates for the April general elections.

Park Geun-hye said during a prerecorded speech on KBS radio Tuesday that the party will nominate determined people who have the ability to keep promises made to the public and prioritize improving people’s lives.

Park said the party considers the upcoming elections a starting point of the party’s reforms in politics and policies. She added the general elections must focus on resolving difficulties people face in life and providing for a better future.

She also said a society must be created in which anybody can realize their dreams if they try hard, stressing the Saenuri Party's policies regarding welfare and economic democratization are centered on that goal.

UM Urges N. Korea to Hold Talks

Birlestirme Bakani Müzakere Düzenlemek Için Kuzey Kore'ye Çagrida Bulundu

Birlestirme Bakani Yu Woo-ik, Güney Kore'nin görüsme düzenleme teklifini kabul etmesi için Kuzey Kore'ye tekrar çagrida bulundu.

Yu cuma günü, bakanligin kurulusunun 43. yildönümü nedeniyle düzenlenen törende bir konusma yapti. Geçen hafta ABD ile nükleer silahsizlandirma üzerine düzenledigi görüsmenin ardindan iki Kore arasi diyalog amaciyla ortaya çikmasi için Pyongyang'a çagrida bulundu.

Bakan, Güney Kore'nin geçen ay yaptigi müzakere teklifinden bahsederek iki Kore'nin yakin temasta görüsmelere baslamasi için çagrida bulundu.

Seoul, Kuzey Kore'de bulunan eski Goguryeo Hanedanligi mezarlarinin yakinlarinda ortak hasere mücadelesi üzerine görüsmek için Kuzeyle çalisma düzeyinde müzakereler önermisti. Ayri aile üyelerinin tekrar birlesmesini görüsmek üzere iki Korenin Kizil Haçlari arasinda ayri bir çalisma düzeyinde toplanti da önerilmisti.

Unification Minister Yu Woo-ik has again urged North Korea to accept South Korea's proposal to engage in talks.

Yu gave a speech Friday during a ceremony marking the 43rd anniversary of the ministry's foundation. He urged Pyongyang to come forward for inter-Korean dialogue following its talks with the United States last week on denuclearization.

The minister called for the two Koreas to begin dialogue with a sincere attitude, mentioning South Korea's recent offers for talks made last month.

Seoul had proposed working-level talks with the North to discuss joint pest control near ancient tombs of the Goguryeo Dynasty located in North Korea. It also proposed a separate working-level meeting between the two Koreas' Red Crosses to discuss the reunion of separated family members.

Muhafazakar muhalefet Özgürlükçü Ilerici Parti vekili Park Sun-young, Pekin çatisma planinin tutuklanmis Kuzey Koreli ilticacilari geri göndermesini talep etmek için 2 Mart 2012'de Seoul'de Çin Büyükelçiligi'nin önündeki miting sirasinda bayildiktan sonra hastaneye kaldirildi. Park, Çin'i talebi kabul etmeye zorlama çabalarinin bir parçasi olarak açlik grevinde yer aliyordu.

Park Sun-young, a lawmaker of the conservative opposition Liberty Forward Party, is transported to a hospital after she fainted during a rally in front of the Chinese Embassy in Seoul on March 2, 2012, to demand Beijing scrap plans to repatriate detained North Korean defectors. Park has been staging a hunger strike as part of efforts to press China into accepting the demand.
