Güney Kore Devlet Baskani Lee Myung-bak, Katar Krali Seyh Hamed bin Halife El Tani ile ekonomik isbirligi zirvesi düzenlemek üzere Katar'in baskenti Doha'ya gitti. Doha'ya iki günlük resmi ziyaretinde Lee, iki ülkenin isadamlarinin katilacagi bir foruma katilip Belediyeler ve Sehir Planlama Bakani Seyh Abdülrahman bin Halife El Tani ile bir görüsme yapacak.

Gov't to Block Public Officials' Intervention in Elections

Devlet, Kamu Görevlilerinin Seçimlere Müdahalesini Önleyecek

Kamu Yönetimi ve Güvenligi Bakanligi, Nisan genel seçimleri öncesinde kamu görevlilerinin seçimlere karismalarini önlemek için gayret göstereceklerini söyledi.

Bakanlik cuma günü bu tür müdahalelere odakli faaliyetler gerçeklestirmek için özel arastirma gruplari olusturacagini söyledi.

Yaklasik 100 kisiyi kapsayan 30 özel arastirma grubu bu ay ve gelecek ayin baslarinda çalismalarina baslayacak.

200 kadar kisiden olusan yaklasik 65 grup, genel seçimler için aday kayitlarinin basladigi 22 Marttan itibaren arastirma görevlerini yerine getirecek.

The Ministry of Public Administration and Security says it will launch efforts to block public officials from intervening in elections ahead of the April general elections.

The ministry said Friday that it will set up special inspection teams to carry out activities focused on addressing such intervention.

Thirty special inspection teams totaling roughly 100 people will begin work this month and early next month. Up to 65 inspection teams totaling some 200 people will carry out inspection efforts from March 22nd when candidate registration begins for the general elections.

General Election Nominee Applications Coming to a Close

Genel Seçim Adaylik Basvurulari Sona Eriyor

Iktidar ve muhalefet partileri, Nisan genel seçimleri için aday basvuru süreçlerini sonlandiriyor.

Iktidardaki Saenuri Partisi, cuma günü itibariyla yaklasik 630 adayla birlikte son basvuru tarihini 15 Subat'a kadar uzatti.

Demokratik Birlesmis Parti, cumartesi günü saat 11.00 itibariyla yaklasik 730 adaylari oldugunu söyledi. DBP son basvuru tarihi cumartesi günü.

Son genel seçimlerin basvuru süreci sirasinda daha önceden Büyük Ulusal Parti olarak bilinen Saenuri Partisinin yaklasik 1000 adayi vardi. O zamanlar ana muhalefet partisi bu sayinin yarisi kadar adaya sahipti.

Hem iktidar hem muhalefet partileri gelecek hafta basvurulari degerlendirmeye baslayacak.

Ruling and opposition parties are wrapping up the nominee application process for the April general elections.

The ruling Saenuri Party extended its deadline for applications to February 15 with roughly 630 applicants as of Friday.

The Democratic United Party said it had about 730 applicants as of 11 a.m. on Saturday. The DUP application deadline is Saturday.

During the application process during the last general elections, the Saenuri Party, formerly known as the Grand National Party, had about one-thousand applicants. The main opposition party at the time had roughly half that number.

Both ruling and opposition parties will begin assessing applicants next week.

Devlet baskaninin halkla iliskiler sekreteri Choe Geum-nak cuma günü iki ülke baskaninin, Güney Kore sirketlerinin plandan önce BAE'nde 3 gelismemis petrol blogunu gelistirmesini mümkün kilacak olan bir sözlesme imzalamaya karar verdigini söyledi.

Choe, sözlesmenin yalnizca BAE'ndeki petrol kaynaklari üzerine karar alan kurulusun onayini bekledigini söyledi.

Baskan Lee ve Seyh; egitim, bilim, teknoloji ve tip gibi alanlarda da isbirligi yapma konusunda anlastilar.

Lee, enerji tedarigi ve dis iliskiler konularinin üzerine gitmek için 4 Orta Dogu ülkesine yaptigi gezinin ardindan cumartesi erken saatlerde Güney Kore'ye geri döndü.

President Lee Myung-bak has returned from the Middle East following his last stop in the United Arab Emirates where he urged cooperation from Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed al-Nahayan over crude oil supplies.

Senior secretary to the president for public relations, Choe Geum-nak, said Friday that the two heads of state agreed to pass a contract that would allow South Korean companies to develop three undeveloped oil blocks in the UAE ahead of schedule.

Choe said the contract now only needs approval from the body governing decisions over oil resources in the UAE. A decision is expected to be reached in March.

President Lee and the Sheikh also agreed to cooperate in other areas, including education, science and technology and medicine.

Lee returned to South Korea early Saturday after a tour of four Middle Eastern nations to address energy supplies and foreign relations.

Güney Kore'nin ilk yurtdisi oylamasi, oy kullanmak için nisan ayinda kayit yaptiran ve yurt disinda ikamet eden Koreliler tarafindan %60'dan az ilgi gördü.

11 Nisan nedeniyle parlemento seçimleri için ilk yurtdisi oylamasi hazirlaniyor, 2009'da öngörülen mevzuattan sonra yurtdisinda yasiyan uygun nitelikteki Korelilerin oy kullanmasi mümkün kilinacak.

South Korea's first overseas voting has drawn little attention as less than six percent of Korean residents abroad have registered to vote in the April general elections, the national election watchdog said Sunday.

South Korea is gearing up to hold its first overseas vote for the parliamentary elections due on April 11, after legislation in 2009 stipulated that eligible South Koreans living abroad be allowed to cast ballots.
