World Cyber Games opens in Busan

Dünya Sanal Oyunlar Busan'da Basliyor

2011 Dünya Sanal Oyunlar Büyük Finali, 4 günlük yaris için, 8 Aralik 2011'de Güney Kore'nin en büyük liman kenti Busan'da bir kongre salonunda basladi. "E-sporlarin Olimpiyatlari" olarak adlandirilan uluslararasi bilgisayar oyunu etkinligindeki 13 yarismada toplamda 500.000 ABD dolari ödül için 63 ülkeden yaklasik 580 bilgisayar oyuncusu yarisacak.

The World Cyber Games 2011 Grand Final opens at a convention center in South Korea's largest port city of Busan for four-day run on Dec. 8, 2011. About 580 gamers from 63 countries compete for prizes totaling US$500,000 in 13 events at the international video gaming event, called the "Olympics of e-sports."

Prosecution Launches Probe of Election Day Cyber Attack

Savcilik Seçim Günü Yapilan Sanal Saldiri Için Sorusturma Baslatti

Savcilik, Ekim ayinda yapilan seçimlerde Ulusal Seçim Komisyonu'nun web sitesine yapilan sanal saldiri hakkinda özel bir sorusturma baslatti.

Cuma günü polisin davayi onlara vermesinden sonra savcilar, DDoS saldirisini arastirmalari için 40 kisilik özel bir ekip olusturdular.

Ekip, hizli hareket ederek, soyadinin "Gong" oldugu tespit edilen bas süphelinin tutuklanmasi için son tarih olan 28 Aralikta sorusturmayi tamamlamayi planliyor.

Savcilik, saldiriyi yapan Gong ve onun suç ortaginin kullandigi gereçlerle ilgili kanit ariyor. Ayrica herhangi bir üst düzey baglantilarinin olup olmadigini tespit etmek için banka hesaplari takip ediliyor.

The prosecution has launched a special investigation into the cyber attack on the National Election Commission's Web site on election day in October.

Prosecutors formed a 40-member special investigative team to probe the DDoS attack, as the police turned over the case to them on Friday.

The team plans to move quick and complete its investigation by December 28th, which is the deadline for prosecutors to hold the main suspect identified by his last name “Gong.”

The prosecution is seeking material evidence to prove the involvement of Gong and his accomplices in the attack. It is also tracing their bank accounts to determine if any higher-ups were involved.

Endüstri verilerinin pazar günü açikladigina göre, Güney Kore'nin oyun endüstrisi, büyük oranda piyango satislarindaki artis sayesinde bu yilin sonu itibariyla yaklasik 18 trilyon wona(15.6 milyar ABD Dolari) ulasacak.

Ulusal Oyun Komisyonunun topladigi bilgilere göre, piyango, kumarhane ve at yarislarini da içeren 6 yasal oyun sektörünün satislarinin bu yil 17.8 trilyon wona ulasmasi bekleniyor ve bu da ülkenin gayrisafi yurt içi hasilasinin %1.5'inden daha fazlasina esdeger.

South Korea's gaming industry will likely see its sales reach nearly 18 trillion won (US$15.6 billion) by the end of this year, mainly due to an increase in lottery sales, industry data showed Sunday.

Sales of six legal gaming sectors including lottery, casino and horse-racing are expected to reach 17.8 trillion won this year, equivalent to more than 1.5 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP), according to the data compiled by the National Gaming Control Commission.

11 Aralik 2011'de, Seoul'un 237 km dogusundaki Gangneung'da bir sitenin yanindaki bos bir arazide, çocuklar kayak yapmanin tadini çikariyorlar. Güney Kore'nin dogu eyaletleri, geçtigimiz birkaç günde 50 cm kadar kar yagisi gördü.

Seoul'un 414 km güneybatisindaki Ulsan'da Güney Kore'nin Kizil Haç dernegi tarafindan kurulan uluslararasi bir pazarda iki çocuklu bir kadin bazi kiyafetlere bakiyor. Esyalar, ülkelerine dönen yabancilar tarafindan bagislandi.

Coast Guard Commando Stabbed to Death by Chinese Fisherman

Sahil Güvenlik Komandosu, Çinli Balikçi Tarafindan Biçaklanarak Öldürüldü

Bir Güney Kore Sahil Güvenlik komandosu,Sari Deniz'de Çinli bir balikçi tarafindan biçaklanarak öldürüldü.

Incheon Deniz Polisi, Sahil Güvenlik'ten iki komandonun, Güney Kore sularinda yasa disi avlanan bir Çin botunu zaptetmeye çalisirken pazartesi saat 7 civarinda Çinli denizciler tarafindan biçaklandigini duyurdu. Bot, Sari Deniz'deki Socheong Adasinin 85 km güneybatisindaydi.

Yarali komandolarin ikisi de helikopterle hastaneye kaldirildi ve 41 yasindaki kidemli polis Chung-ho hastanede hayatini kaybetti. Soyadinin Lee oldugu ögrenilen diger polis memuru tedavi ediliyor. Hayati tehlikesinin olup olmadigi ise bilinmiyor.

Çinli bir balikçi da yaralandi ve bir hastanede tedavi ediliyor.

Sahil Güvenlik, Çin teknesini ve 8 mürettebatini Incheon'a götürüyor.

A commando of the South Korean Coast Guard has been stabbed to death by a Chinese fisherman in the Yellow Sea.

Incheon Maritime Police announced that two commandos of the Coast Guard were stabbed by Chinese sailors around 7 a.m. Monday while trying to seize a Chinese boat fishing illegally in South Korean waters. The boat was 85 kilometers southwest of Socheong Island in the Yellow Sea.

Both injured commandos were moved by helicopter to a hospital where 41-year old Senior Policeman Lee Chung-ho died. Another policeman, identified by his last name Lee, is being treated there. His injury is not known to be life-threatening.

A Chinese fisherman was also injured and is being treated in a hospital.

The Coast Guard is taking the Chinese vessel and it eight crew members to Incheon.

Sahil Güvenlik Görevlisi Için Cenaze Töreni Düzenlendi

Çinli bir balikçi tarafindan biçaklanarak öldürülen Güney Koreli sahil güvenlik komandosu için çarsamba günü sabah saatlerinde, Incheon Sahil Güvenlik rihtiminda cenaze töreni düzenlendi.

Asistan Müfettis Lee Cheong-ho, pazartesi Kore sularinda yasadisi avlanma yapan Çinli balikçilara düzenlenen baskinda hayatini kaybetti.

Cenaze törenine, aile üyeleri ve is arkadaslari katildi. Inha Üniversite Hastanesi'nden alinan cenazesi, yaklasik 800 kisinin katildigi cenaze töreni alanina getirildi.

Baskanlik görevlisinin, Baskan Lee Myung-bak'in mesajini ileten konusmasi ile baslayan tören, Kore Sahil Güvenlik tarafindan düzenlendi.

Funeral Held for Coastguardsman

The funeral for the South Korean Coast Guard commando stabbed to death by a Chinese fisherman was held Wednesday morning at the Incheon Coast Guard pier.

Assistant Inspector Lee Cheong-ho was killed Monday during a raid on Chinese vessels fishing illegally in Korean waters.

Family members and fellow police officers attended the funeral. His coffin left Inha University Hospital and arrived at the funeral site with roughly 800 mourners in attendance.

The funeral, organized by the Korea Coast Guard, opened with a presidential aide delivering remarks from President Lee Myung-bak on his behalf.

Jogye Order elects new spiritual leader

Ven. Jinje, the most renowned Zen master in South Korea, has been unanimously chosen as the new spiritual leader of the Jogye Order, the country's largest Buddhist sect.

The 77-year-old priest is to start his five-year term as the 13rd Supreme Patriarch on March 25 when current leader Ven. Beopjeon's second five-year term ends.
