S.Korean Official Visits NK to Monitor Food Aid

Güney Kore Yetkilisi, Monitör Gida Yardimi için KK'yi Ziyaret Etti

Güney Koreli hükümet yetkilisi ve bazi sivil grup üyeleri, Güney Koreli bir yardim dagitimini kontrol etmek için Kuzey Kore'de.

Birlestirme Bakanligi, Cuma sabahi bakanlik yetkilisinin ve "Ambassadors for Peace Association" sivil grubundan dört sivilin, Kuzey Kore'yi ziyaret ettigini söyledi. Sivil grup, 14 Kasim tarihinde çocuklarin beslenme yardimi için Kuzey Kore'ye 300 ton un verdi.

Sali günü yolculuk sirasinda, yetkililer Kuzey Pyeongan Eyaleti'ndeki Jeongju Sehrinde, gündüz bakim merkezlerini ve ana okullarini ziyaret eden yardim dagitimini kontrol edecek.

A South Korean government official and some civic group members are in North Korea to monitor the distribution of a South Korean aid.

The Unification Ministry said on Friday that a ministry official and four civilians from the civic group "Ambassadors for Peace Association" visited the North on Friday morning. The civic group had provided North Korea with 300 tons of flour on November 14th to help feed children.

During the trip through Tuesday, the officials will monitor the aid distribution visiting day care centers and kindergartens in Jeongju City in North Pyeongan Province.

This is the first time under the Lee Myung-bak administration a government official visits the North and monitor distribution of aid.

The ministry said that despite having a South Korean official as a member of the monitoring group, Pyongyang approved the visit.

Police Debate Investigative Rights Plan in Protest

Polis, Tartisma Sorusturma Haklari Planini Protesto Etti

Polis, savcilik ve polis arasindaki sorusturma haklariyla ilgili bir satir tasarlamasinda, Basbakanlik Ofisi tarafindan gelistirilen uzlasma planina ates püskürdü.

Kuzey Chungcheong Eyalet merkezindeki Cheongwon'da polis memurlari, dokuz saatlik bir tartisma süresince, revizyon üzerine öfkelerini gösterdi. Katilan polis memurlari, daha fazla tartismalar yoluyla planda problemleri tanimlamaya devam etmeye karar verdi.

Çarsamba günü Basbakanlik Ofisi, zaten polis tarafindan kapatilmis olsa bile, savcilar bazi durumlarda yeniden sorusturma yapmak için olanak saglayacak bir baskanlik kararnamesinin degistirilmis versiyonunu bildirdi.

Police have blasted a compromise plan devised by the Prime Minister’s Office in a brewing row between the prosecution and the police over investigative rights.

Police officers vented their anger over the revision throughout a nine-hour debate in Cheongwon in the central North Chungcheong Province. The attending police officers decided to continue identifying problems in the plan through more debates.

The Prime Minister's Office on Wednesday announced a modified version of a presidential decree that would allow prosecutors to reinvestigate some cases, even if they were already closed by police.

More than two-thirds of the police force around the nation with investigative duties submitted their wishes to no longer be part of such tasks in protest. Some even submitted their handcuffs.

A former SK Group executive has been arrested for the embezzlement of more than 200-billion won by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office.

The prosecution has been investigating the investments in futures of SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and vice chairman Chey Jae-won on suspicions that they embezzled company funds to finance their investments and to make up for the losses.

Kim Jun-hong, current CEO of venture capital company Benex Investment, allegedly diverted some 50 billion won among investments of some 280-billion won raised from 18 affiliates of the SK Group from 2007.

The prosecution plans to summon and investigate officials of SK Group subsidiaries that invested in Benex. Next week, the prosecution plans to summon vice chairman Chey Jae-won, who allegedly headed the embezzlement processes.

The prosecution plans to decide whether to summon chairman Chey Tae-won based on the results of the investigation on the vice chairman.
