Restoran isletmecileri, islem ücretlerine karsi eylem yapacak

Ülkenin dört bir yanindan gelecek yaklasik 100.000 restoran isletmecisi, 18 Ekim tarihli sali günü Seoul'ün güneyinde bulunan Jamsil Spor Tesisi'nde kredi kartlariyla yapilan ödemelerin islem ücretlerinin düsürülmesi için eylem yapacak.

Eylemi organize eden Kore Restoranlar Birligi, restoranlarda kredi kartiyla yapilan ödemelerden alinan islem ücretlerinin, alisveris merkezlerinde yapilan kart ödemelerinden elde edilen ücretlerden daha yüksek oldugunu belirtti.

Organizatörler, kredi kartiyla yapilan ödemelerin islem ücretlerinde yüzde 1.5'lik düsüs yapilmasi gerektigini de söyledi.

Restaurateurs to rally against transaction fees

An estimated 100,000 restaurateurs from across the country are set to rally at Jamsil Sports Complex in southern Seoul on Tuesday, Oct. 18, to demand lower credit card transaction fees.

The Korea Restaurant Association, which is organizing the rally, said that credit card transaction fees for restaurants were too high compared to fees charged by card companies at shopping centers.

The organizers say the fees should be lowered to 1.5 percent.

Lee to build retirement home on Seoul's southern outskirts

President Lee Myung-bak and first lady Kim Yoon-ok are planning to reside in a tranquil village on Seoul's southern outskirts after his term ends in 2013, instead of his private home in Nonhyun-dong, a bustling neighborhood in the center of the capital's southern district, a presidential aide said Sunday.

The aide said the president has recently bought a lot in Naegok-dong, a rustic area located between Seoul's southern tip and Bundang, a satellite bed town, under his only son's name and will build his retirement home there.

German historian attends forum in Seoul

Alman Tarihçi Seoul’deki Foruma Katildi

Alman Tarihçi ve Profesör Jurgen Kocka 10 Ekimde Seoul’deki bir otelde Kore Dili Akademisi tarafindan organize edilen medeniyet ve baris konulu bir forumda konustu. Kocka 2008 yilindan bu yana Berlin Brandenburg Bilim ve Insanlik Akademisi baskan yardimcisi.

Teste girenler, cevap kagitlarini doldurmak için yukaridan asagiya dogru yazmaya basladilar.

Meshur dogulu hekim Heo Jun'un dogum yeri olan Seoul'deki Gangseo-gu'da, devlet tip uzmanlari seçmek için Joseon Hanedanligi ulusal sinavi yapildi.

Joseon Hanedanligi döneminde Konfüçyus bilim adamlarinin tarafindan takip edilen üst düzey hükümet yetkilileri çevresindeki bir dizi yolsuzluk, geleneksel ulusal sivil hizmet sinavinin yeniden sahnelenmesiyle insanlara bütünlügü ve dürüstlügü hatirlatti.

Many Vietnamese people are enthusiastic about learning Korean.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnamese women who will soon marry Korean men are studying the language very hard.

This 30-year-old woman will come to South Korea next month. She rides a bus for two hours to attend the Korean class every week.

An increasing number of other Vietnamese people are also learning Korean in order to take lessons from South Korea’s economic growth.

Korea pop music is another interest in learning the language. Vietnamese college students sing along to popular Korean tunes and knowing the language is essential for K-pop fans.

101 kg gigantic pumpkin

U.S. environmentalist visited S. Korea

Lester Brown, a U.S. environmental analyst, spoke during a press conference in Seoul to stress the inefficiency and risks of nuclear power. Brown visited South Korea to attend an environment summit that the South Korean city of Gwangju will host this week.
