Ülkenin en büyük geleneksel tatili Chuseok'tan 3 gün önce, 27 Eylül 2012'de Seoul'un Dongdaemun Bölgesinde bu toptan giyim pazarı müşteri ve satıcılarla doldu taştı. Pek çok Koreli bu tatil sırasında hediye alıp verir.

Pazar gününe denk gelen Kore'nin hasat bayramı Chuseok öncesinde insanlar memleketlerine gitmek üzere dün Seoul'un güneyindeki Seocho Bölgesinde yer alan Seoul Ekspres Otobüs Terminaline akın etti. İmar, Ulaşım ve Denizcilik İşleri Bakanlığı, bugün başlayan üç günlük tatil öncesinde yaklaşık 29.25 milyon kişinin otomobil, otobüs, tren ve uçak yoluyla memleketlerini ziyaret etmelerinin beklendiğini açıkladı.

More Japan, China Tourists Head to South Korea

Güney Kore'ye Gelen Japon ve Çinli Turist Sayısı Arttı

Güney Kore turizm sektörü, Çin ve Japonya arasındaki toprak anlaşmazlığından kazançlı çıktı. Çinli ve Japon yolcular, Çin veya Japonya yerine Güney Kore'ye gitmeyi tercih ediyor.

Adalet Bakanlığı'nın göç istatistiklerine göre ağustos ayı itibarıyla bu yıl, Güney Kore'ye gelen Japon turist sayısı, geçen yılın aynı dönemine kıyasla %23.3 artarak, 2.5 milyon olarak gerçekleşti.

Dokdo adacıkları üzerine Güney Kore ve Japonya arasındaki gerginliğin yükseldiği ağustos ayında bile, Japon turist sayısı %6.5 artarak, 345 bin oldu.

Çinli turist sayısı da, 2011 yılına göre %36.7 artarak, 1.8 milyon oldu. Çin'in Güz Ortası Festivali ve ekimin başında biten Milli Gün tatiline girmesinden sonra, daha fazla Çinli turistin Güney Kore turizm yerlerine akın etmesi bekleniyor.

South Korea’s tourist industry is reaping the profits off of a territorial dispute between China and Japan as Chinese and Japanese travelers are opting to head for South Korea rather than China or Japan.

According to the Justice Ministry’s immigration statistics, the number of Japanese tourists to South Korea this year as of August stood at two-point-five million, up 23-point-three percent compared to the same period last year.

Even in August when the tensions between South Korea and Japan were running high due to a conflict over the Dokdo islets, the number of Japanese tourists saw a rise of six-point-five percent at about 345-thousand.

The influx of Chinese tourists also jumped 36-point-seven percent this year from 2011 at one-point-eight million. More Chinese visitors are expected to flood South Korean tourist spots as China has entered the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, which ends in early October.

Congestion on expressways eases on final day of long weekend

Birçok sürücü Amerika'nın Şükran Gününe eşdeğer olan Chuseok Bayramı için memleketlerini ziyaret ettikten sonra eve doğru yolculuk yaparken Güney Kore'de büyük otoyollarının sıkışıklığı yetkililerin söylediğine göre Pazartesi günü hafifledi.

Pazartesi, Cumartesi günü başlayan geleneksel üç günlük Chuseok tatilinin son günü. Milyonlarca Koreli geleneksel olarak atalarına dualarını sunmak için tatil sırasında memleketlerini ziyaret ederler.

Traffic congestion on major expressways in South Korea eased Monday, as many motorists made their way back home after visiting their hometowns to observe Chuseok, the Korean equivalent of American Thanksgiving Day, officials said.

Monday is the last day of the traditional three-day Chuseok holiday which began on Saturday. Millions of Koreans traditionally visit their hometowns during the holiday to offer prayers to their bereaved ancestors.
