12 Eylül'de Seoul'un Yeouido bölgesine ülke genelinden protesto için çiftçiler geldi. Sığır yemi fiyatlarının yükselmesi ve et fiyatlarının düşmesi çiftçileri zor durumda bıraktığından devletten yardım talep ediyorlar. Çiftçiler kendi sığırları ile Millet Meclisi'ne yürümeyi planlıyordu fakat resimde de görüldüğü gibi polis tarafından engellenerek samanlarını ateşe vermek zorunda kaldılar.

On Sept. 12, farmers came from across the country to protest in Seoul’s Yeouido district. The farmers are asking for government assistance, as the rising cost of cattle feed and the sinking cost of beef have made it difficult for them to get by. The farmers had planned to march to the National Assembly with their cows, but were blocked by police, leading them to light the hay on fire, as seen in this image.

Gov't to expand support for free childcare program

Hükümet, ücretsiz çocuk bakımı programı için desteğini artıracak


Başbakanlık ofisi (PMO) perşembe günü merkezi ve yerel yönetimlerin genişletilmiş devlet çocuk bakım programı için gerekli olan yaklaşık 664 milyar won ($588.000.000) ek bütçeyi paylaşma kararı aldıklarını açıkladı.

Yerel yönetimler, ebeveynlerin gelir düzeyine bakılmaksızın 2 yaşına kadar çocuğu olan tüm ailelere ücretsiz çocuk bakım hizmetleri sağlayan program için fonlarının tükenmesinden şikayetçi olduklarından bu karara varıldı.

The central and local governments agreed to share around 664 billion won (US$588 million) of additional burdens required for the expanded state childcare program, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said Thursday.

The agreement came as the local governments have been complaining that they are running out of funds for the program to provide free childcare services to all families with children up to 2-years-old, regardless of the parents' income level.

N. Korean human rights film fest to open in Seoul

Kuzey Kore İnsan Hakları Film Festivali Seoul'da Açılıyor

18 Eylül 2012 tarihinde Seoul'de yaklaşmakta olan Kuzey Kore İnsan Hakları Film Festivali ile ilgili bir basın toplantısı düzenlendi. 2011 yılında başlatılan yıllık film festivali komünist ülkedeki kötü insan hakları koşullarını iyileştirmek için başlatılmıştır. Bu yıl bu etkinlik 20-21 Eylül'de yapılacaktır. Yönetmen Lee Jang ho (soldan ikinci) festivalin düzenleme komitesi başkanıdır.

A news conference on the upcoming North Korean Human Rights International Film Festival is held in Seoul on Sept. 13, 2012. Launched in 2011, the annual film festival is designed to better dire human rights conditions in the communist country. This year, the event runs from Sept. 20-21 in Seoul. Director Lee Jang-ho (second from L) is the chairman of the festival's organizing committee.

Gov't Names Two Candidate Sites for New Nuclear Plants

Hükümet Yeni Nükleer Santraller İçin İki Aday Yer Belirledi

Hükümet, her biri 4 nükleer reaktör barındıracak olan iki yeni nükleer enerji santrali için cuma günü 2 aday yer belirledi.

Ülkenin tek nükleer enerji santrali operatörü Kore Hidro ve Nükleer Enerji Şti.'den bir yetkiliye göre bölgelerin güvenlik ve uygunluğunu belirleyecek jeolojik bir incelemenin oluşturduğu kapsamlı bir değerlendirmenin ardından bu yerler, 2023 yılında yapılması planlanan yeni nükleer enerji santrallerinin gerçek yeri olacak.

The government named two candidate sites on Friday for two new nuclear power plants that will each house four nuclear reactors.

The sites will be named the actual homes of the new nuclear power plants, set to be built by 2023, following a more thorough evaluation that will include a geological survey to determine the safety and suitability of the areas, according to an official from the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. (KHNP), the country's sole operator of nuclear power plants.

Seoul'de tost ve kimbap için Koreli öğrenciler sıraya giriyor. İngilizce,matematik ve diğer konuları öğrenmek için öğrenciler genellikle okuldan çok doğrudan özel akademilere gitmeyi tercih ediyor. Bu onlara yemek için çok az zaman bırakıyor.
