20 Mayıs 2013’te, Güney Kore Savunma Bakanı Kim Kwan-jin(solda) 8. Amerikan ordusunun yeni korgenerali Johnson’a, Seoul-Washington ittifakının güçlenmesine ve Kore Yarımadası’ndaki barış ve dengenin korunmasına bulunduğu katkıdan ötürü Gukseon Madalyası verdi.
