Thursday Marks Coldest Day of Season

Persembe Mevsimin En Soguk Günü Oldu

Dondurucu soguklar persembe gününün bu kiski en soguk sicakliga düsmesi ile ülke çapinda devam ediyor.

Sabah saatlerinde Cheorwon’da sicaklik -24,6 dereceye, Seoul’de -17 dereceye ve Gwaangju ve Busan’da eksi 10 dereceye kadar düstü. Jeju Adasi’nda da sabah saatlerinde sicaklik sifirin altina düstü.

Ögleden sonra da Jeju disinda ülkenin büyük çogunlugunda sicakliklar sifirin altinda kalacak. Seoul’de cumaya kadar devam edecek olan soguk hava ile ögleden sonra sicaklik -8 derece civarinda olacak.

Dondurucu soguklar Seoul Büyüksehir Egitim Müdürlügü’nün ögrencilerin sagligi ve güvenliginden dolayi persembe günü anaokullari ve ilkögretim okullari için tatil karari almasina neden oldu.
Egitim müdürlügü anaokullari ve okullara bu günün tatil oldugunu velilere kisa mesaj ya da telefon ile bildirmesi konusunda talimat verdi.

Freezing temperatures continue to grip the nation with Thursday posting the coldest temperature yet this winter.

Morning lows stood at minus 24-point-six degrees Celsius in Cheorwon, minus 17-point-one degrees in Seoul and minus ten degrees in Gwangju and Busan. Jeju Island also saw morning lows slide below zero.

Afternoon highs will remain below zero for most parts of the nation, except Jeju. Seoul’s afternoon highs will stand around minus eight degrees Celsius with the cold temps continuing through Friday.

The freezing temperatures have prompted the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education to allow kindergartens and elementary schools to decide whether to close on Thursday for the sake of students’ health and safety.

The education office instructed kindergartens and schools that decide to close for the day to notify households via text message or by phone.

Cold wave freezes Han River

Soguk hava dalgasi Han Nehri'ni dondurdu

Bir kurtarma ekibi, Seoul'de önceki gün eksi 17 C düsen sicakliklardan soguk dalganin bir gün boyunca takip ettigi nehrin donmasinin ardindan, 3 Subat 2012 tarihinde Seoul merkezinin içinden akan Han Nehri'nin üzerinde buz kirdi.

Freezing Weather Grips Nation

Dondurucu Hava Ülkeyi Sardi

Kisa bir ilik hava döneminin ardindan dondurucu sicakliklar Güney Kore'ye tekrar yerlesti.

Sali günü Seoul'de sabah sicakliklari -10 dereceye düstü ve ögleden sonraki sicakliklar -6 derece civarinda olacak. Pazartesi, ögleden sonraki sicakliklar 7 dereceye kadar yükselmisti.

Sicakligin çarsamba sabahi daha da düsüp -12 derece olmasi bekleniyor. Soguk havanin cumartesi ögleden sonradan itibaren isinmasi bekleniyor.

Freezing temperatures have once again settled into South Korea following a brief period of warmer weather.

Morning lows plunged to minus ten degrees Celsius in Seoul on Tuesday, and afternoon highs will stand at around minus six degrees. Earlier on Monday, afternoon highs had climbed to seven degrees Celsius.

The mercury is expected to slide even further to minus 12 on Wednesday morning. The cold weather is expected to warm up from noon Saturday.
