Sports Ministry: No Bullying in Olympic Speed Skating Race

Spor Bakanlığı: Olimpiyat Sürat Pateni Yarışında Zorbalık Yok

Spor Bakanlığının çarşamba günü yaptığı açıklamaya göre, PyeongChang Kış Olimpiyatlarındaki tartışmalı sürat pateni yarışı sırasında gerçekleşen zorbalıkla ilgili herhangi bir bulgu bulunamadı.

19 Şubat'ta gerçekleşen kadınlar takımının çeyrek finalinde, Güney Koreli patenci Kim Bo-reum ve Park Ji-woo, bitiş çizgisini geçerken takım arkadaşları Noh Seon-yeong'u geride bırakmışlardı.

Takımın bitiş zamanı, son patencinin yarışı ne zaman bitirdiğine bağlı olduğu için Kim ve Park, Noh'u geride bıraktıkları için eleştirilmişlerdi.

Ancak, spor bakanlığı olayla ilgili soruşturma yürüterek, Kim ve Park'ın bilinçli olarak Noh'u geride bırakmadığına karar verdi.

Bakanlığa göre, Kim ve Park finalde daha önce olduklarından daha belirgin bir şekilde hızlı değillerdi. Noh, onların hızını yakalamakta zorlandı.

Bakanlık, takımındaki son yarışmacı olan Noh'un zorbalığa maruz kalmasındansa patencilerin sırasıyla ilgili iletişim güçlüğüne maruz kaldığı kararını verdi.

The sports ministry said on Wednesday that there was no premeditated bullying during a controversial speed skating race at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

During the quarterfinals of the women's team pursuit on February 19th, South Korean skaters Kim Bo-reum and Park Ji-woo left their teammate Noh Seon-yeong behind as they skated across the finish line.

As a team’s time is based on when the last skater finishes the race, Kim and Park were criticized for failing to stay with Noh.

However, the sports ministry conducted an investigation into the incident and concluded that Kim and Park had no intention of leaving Noh behind.

According to the ministry, Kim and Park weren't noticeably faster over their final laps than they had been earlier in the race, and claimed that Noh merely failed to maintain her pace in the final stages.

The ministry added that the decision to place Noh as the last racer on the team was down to a lack of communication about the order of the skaters, rather than due to bullying.

S. Korea Wins Men's Compound Team Title at Archery World Cup

Güney Kore, Okçuluk DÜnya Kupası'nda Erkekler Birleşik Takım Ünvanını Kazandı

Güney Koreli erkek okçular Okçuluk Dünya Kupası'nda altın madalya kazandılar.

Erkekler takımının finali cumartesi günü Antalya, Türkiye'de gerçekleşecek. Kimg Jong-ho, Choi Yong-hee ve Hong Sung-ho üçlüsü ABD'yi 235-229 yenmişti.

Zafer, nisanda gerçekleşen Shanghai Dünya Kupası'nda Güney Kore'nin ABD'ye bir puanla yenilmesinin ardından geldi.

Kim Jong-ho aynı zamanda birleşik karma takımlar etkinliğinde partneri So Chae-won ile birlikte gümüş madalya kazanmıştı. Kazandığı iki bronz madalyanın birini birleşik etkinlikte ve diğerini ise kadınlar birleşik takım etkinliğinde takım arkadaşları Choi Bo-min ve Kim Yun-hee ile aldı.

South Korean male archers won a gold medal at the Archery World Cup.

In the men's team final that took place in Antalya, Turkey on Saturday, the trio of Kim Jong-ho, Choi Yong-hee and Hong Sung-ho beat the United States 235-229.

The victory comes a month after South Korea lost against the U.S. by one point in the Shanghai World Cup in April.

Kim Jong-ho also won a silver in the compound mixed team event with his partner So Chae-won. So earned two more bronze medals, one in women's compound event and the other in women's compound team event along with her teammates Choi Bo-min and Kim Yun-hee.

Cheering Events to be Held on Seoul Streets for World Cup

Dünya Kupası için Seoul Sokaklarında Moral Etkinliği Düzenleniyor

Güney Kore'nin ulusal takımı için yapılacak olan büyük açık hava moral etkinliği, Rusya'daki 2018 FIFA Dünya Kupası sırasında, Seoul sokaklarında kutlanacak.

Seoul kent hükümeti ve Kore Futbol Fedarasyonu'nun perşembe günü yaptığı açıklamaya göre, Dünya Kupası sokak moral etkinliği, Kore Takımı gelecek iki hafta boyunca üçlü grup maçlarına çıktığında, Seoul Meydanı ve dev 500 -inçlik ekranın olduğu Gwanghwamun Meydanı'nda düzenlenecek.

F Grubu'na yerleşen Kore Takımı, gelecek pazartesi İsveç, 23 Haziran'da Meksika ve 27 Haziran'da Almanya ile karşılaşacak.

Yeongdong Bulvarı'ndaki trafik etkinlik sebebiyle kapanacak. Metro ve otobüs saatleri ise, Taegeuk Savaşçıları Meksika ve Almanya ile oynadığında, maç geç biteceği için, uzatılacak.

Massive outdoor cheering events for South Korea’s national soccer team will be held on the streets of Seoul during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Seoul city government and the Korea Football Association said Thursday that World Cup street cheering events will be held at Seoul Plaza and Gwanghwamun Plaza, where a giant 500-inch screen will be set up, when Team Korea plays its three group matches over the next two weeks.

Placed in Group F, the Korean squad will face off against Sweden next Monday, Mexico on June 23rd and Germany on the 27th.

Traffic will be blocked at Yeongdong Boulevard during the cheering events. The operation of subways and buses will be extended on the days when the Taegeuk Warriors play Mexico and Germany, as the games finish late at night.

S. Korea Exits World Cup Despite Defeating Germany 2-0

G. Kore, Almanya'yı 2-0 Yenip Ligden Etmesine Rağmen Kendisi de Dünya Kupası'ndan Çıktı

Güney Kore, Almanya'yı FIFA Dünya Kupası'nda 2-0 mağlup etti ve bu galibiyet sonucunda da Almanya’nın şampiyonlar ligi turnuvasından elenmesini sağladı.

Kim Young-gwon ve Son Heung-min'in attığıbirer golüi, Güney Kore'nin şok galibiyeti ile Kazan'daki F Grubu maçının ikinci yarısında iki gol atıldı .

Ancak sonuç, aynı zamanda oynanmakta olan gruptaki diğer mücadeledeki, İsveç'in Meksika'yı yenmesiyle Taeguk Savaşçılarının Dünya Kupası'nın son 16 aşamasına ilerlemesi için yeterli olamadı.

Nakavt turuna hak kazanabilmek için Güney Kore'nin Almanya'yı en az iki golle yenmesi gerekiyordu ve Meksika ve İsveç'i de yenmesi gerekiyordu.

South Korea exited the FIFA World Cup on Wednesday despite defeating Germany 2-0 in a result which also saw the defending champions eliminated from the tournament.

Kim Young-gwon and Son Heung-min each scored in second-half stoppage time of the Group F match in Kazan to seal the shock win for South Korea.

However, the result was not enough for the Taeguk Warriors to progress to the last-16 stage of the World Cup as Sweden defeated Mexico in the other game in the group which was being played at the same time.

In order to qualify for the knockout round, South Korea had to beat Germany by at least two goals and Mexico had to defeat Sweden.

While Team Korea managed to pull off the surprise win, Sweden easily beat Mexico 3-0 thanks to goals from Ludwig Augustinsson, Andreas Granqvist and an own goal from Mexico’s Edson Alvarez.

The results mean that Sweden advanced to the last-16 stage as the group’s leader on six points, while Mexico finished in second to also progress.

South Korea finished in third spot with three points following two defeats and one win in its group matches, while Germany ended up in last spot.

Despite suffering the disappointment of exiting the World Cup at an early stage, South Korea ended its campaign on a good note by proving its potential against the world’s top-ranked team.

South Korea almost opened the scoring in the 15th minute after German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer fumbled a free-kick, but Neuer just managed to clear the ball ahead of Son. Son then saw his powerful volley sail just wide of the goal in the 24th minute.

Germany improved in the second-half, with South Korean goalkeeper Cho Hyun-woo making superb saves several times. Cho pushed aside Leon Goretzka’s header two minutes into the second half and also saved well from Mario Gomez in the 67th minute.

However, it was Team Korea who opened the scoring as Kim Young-gwon netted from close range in the 92nd minute. Kim’s goal was initially ruled out for offside by the referee, before the video assistant referee review ensured it was awarded.

Son completed his team’s victory as he took advantage of goalkeeper Neuer’s position out of goal to latch onto a long ball and score into an empty net.

3 Temmuz 2018'de, Güney Kore Milli Basketbol Takımı Üyeleri Pyongyang'daki Koryo Oteli'ne vardıklarında "Hoş geldin" ile karşılaştı. Aynı gün, Güney Kore basketbol heyeti de Birleşme Bakanı Cho Myoung-gyon önderliğinde Kuzey Kore'nin başkentine gitti. İki Kore de her iki taraftan karışık olan takımın iki gün sürecek maçları için arkadaşça bir tutum sergiledi. Bu gerçekleşen 4. etkinlik. İlki Ekim 2003'teydi.

Choo Shin-soo Reaches Base in 48th Straight Game

Texas Rangers'ın Güney Koreli basebol yıldızı Choo Shin-soo köşe vuruşu serisini 48 oyuna yükseltti.

35 yaşındaki vurucu, salı günü Boston'daki Fenway Park'ında oynanan Rangers'ın 8-4 Boston Red Sox'a karşı kaybettiği maçla birlikte, oynadığı maçlarda art arda 48. kez köşe vuruşu serisine ulaştı.

Son başarısı ile birlikte, Choo, Joey Votto ve Albert Pujols'un yanısıra en uzun köşe vuruşu serisi yapan aktif oyuncu olarak değerlendirildi. Votto bu ünvana 2015'te Cincinnati Reds ile oynarken erişti. Pujols ise St. Louis Cardinals ile 2011 yılında oynanan maçta bu ünvanı kazanmıştı.

South Korean baseball star Choo Shin-soo of the Texas Rangers has extended his on-base streak to 48 games.

The 35-year-old hitter reached base in his 48th consecutive game with a walk during the Rangers' 8-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston on Tuesday.

With the latest feat, Choo ranks alongside Joey Votto and Albert Pujols in terms of active players with the longest on-base streak. Votto reached the record in 2015 when he played for the Cincinnati Reds, while Pujols enjoyed his streak in 2001 with the St. Louis Cardinals.

If Choo continues his on-base streak in two more games, he will come to match the longest streak of Babe Ruth’s career, which the legend posted back in 1923.

Ted Williams holds the all-time Major League Baseball record, having reached base in 84 consecutive games in 1949.

S. Korea Finishes 2nd at Fencing Championships

Güney Kore Eskrim Şampiyonasını 2. Olarak Bitirdi

Güney Kore, Çin'de Wuxi'deki 2018 Dünya Eskrim Şampiyonasında şimdiye kadarki en iyi derecesini aldı.

Kore Takımı, genel madalya sıralamasında ikinci sıraya yerleşirken, şampiyonayı iki altın, iki gümüş ve üç bronz madalya ile bitirdi.

Kore, kadınlar eskrim takımına da turnuvanın son günü bronz madalya kazandı.
Kadınlar eskrim takımı Fransa'ya karşı kaybetti ve finale çıkamadı fakat İtalya'yı yenerek bronz madalya sahibi oldu.

Kore Eskrim Federasyonu'nun açıklamasına göre, şampiyonadaki muhteşem ötesi performansa bakarak gelecek ayın başında Endonezya'da düzenlenecek Asya Oyunları'ndaki tüm eskrim etkinliklerinde madalya kazanılması bekleniyor.

South Korea had its best-ever finish at the 2018 World Fencing Championships in Wuxi, China.

Team Korea ranked second on the overall medal table, finishing with two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

Korea added a bronze medal in women's team sabre on the last day of the tournament.

The women's sabre team lost to France and did not make it to the final round but defeated Italy to take bronze.

The Korean Fencing Federation said that based on the superb performance at the championships, it expects medals to be won in all fencing events at the Asian Games in Indonesia opening next month.
