Seoul World Cup Stadyumu'nda gerçeklesen maçta ev sahibi ekip topa hakimdi fakat sansini çevirmekte basarisiz oldu. Londra Olimpiyatlarini garantileyen Güney Kore, geçtigimiz ay Umman'a karsi kazandigi 3-0'lik zaferle A grubunda zirvedeki yerini perçinledi.

South Korea played Qatar to a scoreless draw in the last Olympic football qualification game here Wednesday, extending its unbeaten streak in the qualifying stage with a ticket to London already in hand.

At Seoul World Cup Stadium, the home side dominated the ball but failed to convert any chances. South Korea entered this game having already qualified for the London Olympics, thanks to the 3-0 victory over Oman last month that clinched the top spot in Group A.

Ayni ekipte büyük zaferler için birlikte çalisan iki soguk savas düsmanlarini siradisi olarak nitelendiren gazeteci Michael J. Agovino, egitim sirasinda birlikte bankta oturan iki oyuncunun bir fotografini yayinlamisti. Kuzey Kore'nin erkenden iki oyuncunun çekilmemesi ve fotografin yayinlanmamasi gerektigi konusunda uyarida bulunmasi fotografin sansasyonelligini kanitladi.

U.S. sports channel ESPN wrote a feature article on Monday named "Korea United FC" on South Korean defender Park Joo-ho and North Korean striker Pak Kwang-ryong, who are playing together for FC Basel in Switzerland.

Journalist Michael J. Agovino posted a picture of the two players sitting on the bench together during team training -- showing the unusual sight of two Cold War foes working together for greater glory. The photo proved quite sensational as North Korea warned earlier that such shots of the two players together should not be taken or published.

KBO preseason starts Saturday

KBO Hazirlik Maçlari Cumartesi Basliyor

Spor Yönetim Kurulu çarsamba günü, Kore beyzbol Ligi ekiplerinden üst düzey sekiz kulübün cumartesi günü hazirlik maçlarina baslayacagini duyurdu.

Kore Beyzbol Organizasyonu'na (KBO) göre, Kore ligi sampiyonu Samsung Lions cumartesi günü Seoul Jamsil Beyzbol Stadi'nda LG Twins'e konuk olurken SK Wyverns, Incheon Munhak Stadi'nda Kia Tigers'i agirlayacak. Hanwha Eagles, Cheongju Nexen Heroes'la karsilasacak ve Lotte Giants Busan'da Doosan Bears'a rakip olacak.

The eight clubs in Korean baseball’s top league will begin preseason games from Saturday, the sports’ governing body said Wednesday.

According to the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), the defending Korean Series champion Samsung Lions will visit the LG Twins at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on Saturday while the SK Wyverns are to host the Kia Tigers at the Munhak Stadium in Incheon. The Hanwha Eagles will meet the Nexen Heroes in Cheongju and the Lotte Giants will take on the Doosan Bears in Busan.

Government to speed up actions against match-fixing

Hükümet Sikeye Karsi Eylemleri Hizlandiriyor

Kültür Bakanligi çarsamba günü, hükümetin yasadisi bahis oyunlari ve sporda yolsuzluk üzerine agir cezalar içeren bir yasanin revizyonu hizlandirdiklarini açikladi.

Kültür, Spor ve Turizm Bakanligi, yasadisi bahis ve sike için spor tesvik kanununu revize edecegini geçen ay duyurmustu.

The government will speed up the revision of a law that imposes severe penalties for illegal gambling and corruption in sports, the Culture Ministry said on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced last month that it would revise the sports promotion law to root-out illegal gambling and match-fixing.

Cuma günü Güney Koreli futbol yetkilileri, dünya futbol yönetim kurulunun dünya çapindaki maçlar için Güney Koreli Choi Sung-kuk'u askiya aldigini açikladi.

Eski bir milli takim forveti olan Choi, geçen sene 2010 yilinda maç hilesi skandalina karismasi üzerine Güney Kore'deki futbol faaliyetlerine bir ömür boyu yasak verildi.

The world football governing body has suspended South Korea's Choi Sung-kuk for matches around the world, South Korean football officials said Friday.

Last year, Choi, a former national team forward, was given a life ban from any football-related activity in South Korea for his involvement in a match-rigging scandal in 2010.
