Outsider Güney Koreli bir rapçidir. Hızlı rap yapmasıyla tanınıyor ve saniyede 24 heceyle rap yapabilmesiyle ünlüdür. Outsider akıl hocası olarak Koreli rapçi arkadaşı MC Sniper'ı düşünüyor ve halen MC Sniper'ın şirketi Sniper Sound ile sözleşmesi devam etmektedir.

Outsider yalnız şarkıda, saniyede 17 heceyle dünyanın en hızlı 2 rapçisi olmuştur. Saniyede21, 23 ve 24 heceye ulaştığına dair birçok iddia vardır ancak bu iddialar ispat edilmemiştir. Outsider, Yoo Jae-Seok tarafından bir televizyon programına konul edilerek bir yeraltı rapçi olarak önemli ölçüde bazı başarılar elde etmiştir. Hızlı rap becerileri Koreli hip-hop efsanesi MC Sniper'ı etkiledi ve Outsider onun şirketi "Sniper Sound" ile sözleşme imzaladı. Outsider kısa bir süre sonra, ilk stüdyo albümü Soliloquist'ı yayınladı.

Outsider'ın ikinci albümü; Maestro, daha genel bir başarı elde etti. Albüme adını veren parça "Loner" M.Net ve Melon müzik listelerinde en fazla 5 hafta içinde 1. sırada yerini korudu, Outsider en hızlı rapçilerden biri olarak Kore müzik listesinin yanı sıra W- music listesinde kimsenin olamadığı 1 numarayı elde etmiştir. Outsider ayrıca MBC, SBS, KBS, Mnet'de sahne aldı ve bir yarışma için SBS'in  Star King adlı programında özel konuk olarak görünmüştür. "Loner" için promosyon sona erdikten sonra,  Joy ve Vassco'nun yardımıyla "My Youth Confession" başlıklı albümden başka bir parçaya promosyona başladı. Bu parça göreceli bir başarı kazandı.

Outsider ayrıca yeraltı ve yerüstünden MC Sniper, L.E.O, Illnit, DJ R2, Bae Chi Gi, Dok2 gibi ve daha fazla rapçiyle çalıştı. Ayrıca yükselen ballad şarkıcı K.Will ile özel bir performans yaptı, K.Will Outsider'ın yanında bir sorun olmadan rap becerilerini gösterdi.

Kısa bir aradan sonra Mart 2010'da "Vol. 2.5 The Outsider 주변인" başlıklı bir EP'nin yanı sıra Outsider klasik bir kesit ile hip-hop'ı karıştırıp "Loner"e yeniden ses vererek, albümün single'ı "Acquaintance (주변인)" için bir müzik video ile döndü. Outsider bu dönemde ayrıca BIGBANG'in "Lies" adlı parçasının yeni versiyonu için tanıtım yapmıştır.

Outsider Ekim 2010'da iki single'ı; "주인공 (Hero)"yu şirket arkadaşı LMNOP ve "Attitude Needed When Breaking Up (이별할 때 필요한 자세)"ı hip-hop sanatçısı Kuan of All That ile birlikte "Hero" başlıklı 3. albümünü yayınladı. Şarkı "Hero"; Melon'da 5 sıraya, Mnet Single Listesinde ise 7. sıraya ve önceden 2AM ve rapçi arkadaşı Psy gibi top 10'da çalınan idollerin olduğu prestijli Gaon Listesi'nde 4. sıraya yükseldi.

Outsider 21 Aralık 2010 tarihinde, Gangwon Eyaleti, Wonju'da zorunlu askerlik hizmeti için 5 haftalık temel eğitimi takip eden 21 aylık aktif görev için askere alındı. 24 Eylül 2012 tarihinde askerden döndü. 

Outsider 31 Mart 2012 tarihinde Seoul Gangnam Imperial Palace Hotel'de evlendi. Eşi ondan 3 yaş büyük ve bir dans topluluğunun yönetmeni, aynı zamanda kültürel içerikli bir işletmenin CEO'sudur. Onlar annesi sayesinde bir araya geldi ve 1 Nisan'da Bali'ye balayına gittiler.

Outsider (born Shin Ok-cheol on March 21, 1983) is a South Korean rapper. He is known for his speed-rapping and is reputed to be able to rap at 24 syllables per second. Outsider considers fellow Korean rapper MC Sniper as his mentor, and he is currently signed to MC Sniper's label, Sniper Sound.

Outsider is the world's 2nd fastest rapper at 17 syllables per second in the song Alone. Many claim that he has reached speeds of 21, 23 & 24 syllables per second but these claims have not been substantiated.

Outsider achieved some success as an underground rapper, leading to an appearance on a TV show hosted by the famous Yoo Jae-Seok. His fast rapping skills impressed Korean hip-hop legend, MC Sniper, who signed Outsider to his label "Sniper Sound". Soon after, Outsider released his first studio album, Soliloquist.

Outsider's second album, Maestro, had more mainstream success. The title track "Loner" held the #1 spot on M.Net and Melon music charts for more than 5 weeks, making Outsider one of the fastest rappers to ever reach #1 on a Korean music chart as well as the W- music chart. He was also the first to ever maintain #1 on both charts. Outsider has also performed on MBC, SBS, KBS, Mnet, and had appeared on SBS's Star King as a special guest for a contestant. After the promotion for "Loner" ended, he started to promote another track from the same album titled "My Youth Confession", with the help of Joy and Vassco. This track gained relative success.

Outsider has also worked with underground and overground rappers such as MC Sniper, L.E.O, Illnit, DJ R2, Bae Chi Gi, Dok2, and more. He also did a special performance with the rising ballad singer, K.Will, where K.Will showed his rapping skill by rapping alongside Outsider without a problem.

After a short hiatus, he returned on March 2010 to release an EP titled "Vol. 2.5 The Outsider 주변인" along with a music video for the album's single, "Acquaintance (주변인)", in which Outsider revisits the sound of "Loner", which mixes hip-hop with a classical edge. During this period, Outsider also gained publicity for his remake of Big Bang's "Lies".

On October 2010, Outsider released his 3rd album titled "Hero" along with two singles; "주인공 (Hero)" featuring fellow label-mate, LMNOP, and "Attitude Needed When Breaking Up (이별할 때 필요한 자세)" featuring fellow hip-hop artist, Kuan of All That. The album gained relative success, despite being released without a music video or many live performances to promote the album. The song "Hero" rose to #7 on the Mnet Single Charts, #5 on Melon, and #4 on the prestigious Gaon Chart before it was knocked off the top 10 by idols such as 2AM and fellow rapper, Psy.

On 21 December 2010, Outsider enlisted for mandatory military service for five weeks of basic training followed by 21 months of active duty in Wonju, Gangwon Province. He was discharged on 24 September 2012.

Outsider married March 31, 2012 at Seoul Gangnam Imperial Palace Hotel. His wife is 3 years older than him and is a director of a dance troupe as well as the CEO of a cultural contents enterprise. They met through her mother and went on honeymoon in Bali on April 1.
