Efforts underway to transfer oil from exploded carrier

Bir vinç gemisi 16 Ocak 2012 tarihinde Incehon’daki Jaweol Adasi’nda neredeyse batmakta olan 3 Numarali Doola yük gemisinden yag tasimak için seferber oldu. 3 mürettebat üyesinin öldügü, diger 6 kisinin kayip oldugu 4,191 tonluk gemi bir önceki gün patladi. Patlama gemi isletmecisine göre yag tankindan benzin sizintisiyla meydana geldi.

A crane ship is mobilized to transfer oil from the almost-submerged oil carrier Doola No. 3 in seas off Jaweol Island in Incheon on Jan. 16, 2012. The 4,191-ton ship exploded the previous day, leaving three crewmen dead and six others missing. The explosion seems to have taken place while gas was being drained from the oil tank, according to the ship's operator.

Most S.Koreans Concerned of Aging Population, Low Birthrate

Her 10 Koreliden 9'u ülkenin düsük dogum oraninin ve yaslanan nüfusunun endise verici olduguna inaniyor.

Saglik ve Sosyal Yardimlasma Bakanligi geçen yilin sonunda 2 bin Koreli yetiskine anket yapti ve %86'dan fazlasi düsük dogum oraninin ciddi bir problem oldugunu söyledi. %91'den fazlasi ise yaslanan nüfusun önemli bir mesele oldugunu söyledi.

Katilimcilar vergi yükü ve is kitligindan, az dogum ve artan yasli nüfustan kaynaklanan en büyük problemler olarak söz etti. Digerleri ise, ilerleyen yillarda degisken bir hayat ve ulusal rekabetçilikteki zayiflamadan bahsetti.

Nine out of ten South Koreans believe the nation's low birthrate and the aging population are very concerning.

The Health and Welfare Ministry surveyed two thousand Korean adults late last year, and over 86 percent said the low birthrate is a serious problem. More than 91 percent said the aging population is a grave issue.

Respondents cited the tax burden and shortage of labor as the largest problems resulting from fewer births and an increasing elderly population. Others mentioned an unstable life in later years and a weakening in national competitiveness.

22-24 Ocak tarihlerine denk düsen, Korece'de "Seol" olarak adlandirilan Yeni Ay Yili bayrami öncesinde evden eve teslim servisine talep arttigindan, Seoul'de bir postanede 17 Ocak 2012 günü paketler ayriliyor. Seol pek çok Korelinin hediye alip verdigi ülkenin en büyük bayramlarindan biri.

Passenger Ship Enters Port of Pyeongtaek after Collision at Sea

Yolcu Gemisi Denizdeki Çarpismadan Sonra Pyeongtaek Limanina Giris Yapti

Incheon açiklarinda bir kum tasiyiciyla çarpisan bir yük gemisi kazadan 17 saat sonra, persembe günü 23.30 sularinda Pyeongtaek limanina giris yapti.

Limandaki sahil güvenlik yetkilileri, kum tasiyicinin batmasi durumuna tedbiren yolcu gemisi "Grand Peace" ve kum tasiyicisinin güvenli bölgeye tasindigini söyledi. Gemiler tasindiktan sonra, çarpismadan dolayi birbirlerine giren yolcu gemisi ve kum tasiyiciyi ayirmak için alti silep harekete geçti.

Grand Peace'de 440 kisi vardi fakat hiç ölü bildirilmedi.

Sahil Güvenlik yetkilileri kazanin sebebini arastiriyor. Su an için Grand Peace'in seyir subayinin uyuyakalmasindan sonra kazanin meydana geldigine inaniliyor. Yetkililer, Pyeongtaek Bölge Denizcilik Isleri ve Liman Ofisi kumanda odasinin, tehlikeye dogru ilerledigini söylemek için yolcu gemisiyle yaklasik 20 kez iletisime geçmeyi denedi ancak gemiden hiç cevap gelmedi.

A passenger ship that collided with a sand carrier in waters off Incheon entered the Port of Pyeongtaek around eleven-thirty p.m. Thursday some 17 hours after the accident.

Coast guard officials at the port said the passenger ship “Grand Peace” and the sand carrier were moved to a safe zone in case the sand carrier sank. After the ships were moved, six towboats were mobilized to separate the passenger ship and sand carrier that were bound through the collision.

Some 440 people were aboard the Grand Peace but no casualties were reported.

Coast guard officials are investigating the cause of the accident. Currently, they believe it occurred after the navigation officer of the Grand Peace fell asleep. The officials said the Pyeongtaek Regional Maritime Affairs and Port Office’s control room contacted the passenger ship some 20 times to inform the ship it was headed toward danger but it never responded.

Bu haftasonu baslayan Yeni Ay Yili tatili için yaklasik 31.5 milyon kisinin memleketlerini ziyaret etmesi bekleniyor.

Tatil göçünün Yeni Ay Yilindan bir gün önce, pazar sabahi zirveye ulasmasi bekleniyor. Memleketlerinden Seoul'e dönecek olan kisi sayisinin ise pazar günü ögleden sonra en yüksek olmasi bekleniyor.

Seoul'den Gwangju'ya gideceklerin 5 saat 40 dakika sonra gidecekleri yere ulasmalari beklenirken, Seoul'den Busan'a arabayla gidecek olanlarin en fazla yaklasik 7 saat 10 dakika yolda olmalari bekleniyor.

Busan'dan Seoul'e dönecek olanlarin 9 saat 10 dakika ve Gwangju'dan Seoul'e döneceklerin 6.5 saat yolda olmasi bekleniyor.

Around 31-and-a-half million people are expected to visit their hometowns for the Lunar New Year Holiday beginning this weekend.

The holiday exodus is expected to reach its peak on Sunday morning the day before the Lunar New Year. The number of people who will be returning to Seoul from their hometowns is expected to surge to the highest level on Sunday afternoon.

People traveling from Seoul to Busan by car are expected to be on the road for roughly seven hours and ten minutes at the most, while those traveling from Seoul to Gwangju are expected to reach their destination after five hours and 40 minutes.

It is expected to take nine hours and ten minutes for people to get back to Seoul from Busan and around six-and-a-half hours from Gwangju to Seoul.
