Bu, Güney Kore'nin en büyük Budist tarikatinin eski lideri Ji-Kwan'in Jongye Order'da çekilmis fotografi. Jogye Order'in yapilan açiklamaya göre, Ji-kwan, 2 Ocak 2012 tarihinde kronik astimdan 79 yasinda Gyeongguk Tapinagi'nda hayatini kaybetti.

Funeral for Most Venerable Jikwan to be Held Friday

Budist Rahip Ji-kwan'in Cenazesi Cuma Günü Düzenlenecek

Güney Kore'nin en büyük Budist tarikati Jogye Order'in eski lideri Saygideger Ji-kwan'in cenazesi cuma günü düzenlenecek.

79 yasindaki Ji-kwan, pazartesi günü Seoul'deki Gyeongguk Tapinagi'nda kronik astim rahatsizligindan hayatini kaybetti.

Cenazeyi Jogye Order düzenleyecek. Budist tarikatin su anki lideri Saygideger Jaseung tarafindan sali günü düzenlenen toplantida, cenazenin yapilacagi güne karar verildi.

Ji-kwan'in cenaze ve yakma töreni Güney Gyeongsang Eyaleti, Hapcheon'daki Haein Tapinagi'nda yapilacak.

The funeral for the Most Venerable Jikwan, former Chief Administrator of South Korea’s largest Buddhist sect Jogye Order, will be held on Friday.

Jikwan died from asthma on Monday at Gyeongguk Temple in Seoul at the age of 79.

The Jogye Order will host and organize the funeral. The decision was made on Tuesday in a meeting of order officials chaired by the Most Venerable Jaseung, the current president of the Buddhist sect.

The funeral and a cremation ceremony for Jikwan will be held in Haein Temple in Hapcheon, South Gyeongsang Province.

Underwater Wonderland Lies off Coast of Hong Island

An underwater wonderland lies below the sea off the coast of Hong Island, which is just one hour away by ship from Tongyeong, South Gyeongsang Province.

Endangered sea creatures are spotted in the water 20 meters below the surface.

Schools of fish swim through sea weeds or rest between rocks.
Maritime plants of various colors stretch endlessly across the bottom of the ocean.

The government designated Hong Island as a national park one year ago, recognizing its invaluable maritime eco-system.

Korecede "Seol" olarak tanimlanan Kameri Yeni Yili, bu yil 22-24 Ocak tarihlerinde kutlanacak. Seoul Kore'de kutlanan en büyük geleneksel bayramdir.

Bir nakliye konteyneri Güney Kore'nin Antarktika'daki Kral Sejong arastirma üssünde hidrofonik tarim tesisine dönüstürüldü.

Biberden susam yapraklarina kadar pek çok sayida sebze tarim tesisinin içinde yetisiyor.

Tesis, izole edilmis dis duvarlariyla -40 derece sicakliga dayanabiliyor. Burada, LED ve florasan lambalar günes isiginin yerini aliyor.

Sicaklik, nem orani ve yapay rüzgarlar otomatik olarak kontrol ediliyor.

Taze yesillikler, donmus gidalardan hastalanan ve bikan Kral Sejong arastirma üssü üyeleri için iyi bir vitamin kaynagi.

It's possible to grow and eat fresh vegetables in Antarctica despite minus 40 degree Celsius temperatures.

A shipping container was transformed into a hydroponic cultivation facility at South Korea’s King Sejong research base in Antarctica.

A variety of vegetables ranging from peppers to sesame leaves grow inside the farming facility.

The facility can withstand the minus 40-degree temperature with its insulating outer walls. Meanwhile, LED and fluorescent lamps replace sunlight.

The temperature and the levels of moisture and artificial wind are automatically controlled.

The fresh greens are a good source of vitamins to King Sejong base members who have gotten sick and tired of frozen foods.
