S. Korea's First Trial of Foreign Pirates to Begin Monday

Güney Kore’de Yabanci Korsanlarin Ilk Durusmasi Pazartesi Günü Baslayacak

Mahkeme yetkililerinin pazar günü yaptigi açiklamaya göre bes Somalili korsanin dördü Güney Koreli bir yük gemisini kaçirmaktan tutuklandi ve bu hafta liman kentinde yapilan ülkenin ilk korsanlik davasinda korsan gemisi kaptani jüri önünde yargilanarak sürgün cezasi verilecek.

Subat ayinda savcilar, 21 Ocakta donanma komandolarinin yaptigi operasyonla Arap denizinde yakalanan ve Güney Koreli kaptanin haklarinda sürgün kararinin çikmasini istedigi bes Somalili korsan suçlu bulmustu. Operasyonda diger 8 korsan öldürülmüs ve 21 kisiden olusan tüm mürettebat kurtarilmisti, 58 yasindaki kaptan Seok Hae-Khun da bu silahli çatisma sirasinda birkaç kez vurulmustu.

Four of the five Somali pirates arrested on charges of hijacking a South Korean freighter and shooting its captain will face jury trial in this port city this week in the nation's first piracy case, court officials said Sunday.

Prosecutors in February indicted the five Somali pirates captured alive during a Jan. 21 Navy commando operation in the Arabian Sea on charges of maritime piracy, accusing one of them of shooting the South Korean captain. The operation killed eight other pirates and rescued all 21 crew members, though the 58-year-old skipper, Seok Hae-kyun, was shot several times during the gun battle.

Korean Air, 2014'te her biri 400 trilyon won olan Airbus A380 devasa jetleri satin alacak.

Çift güverteli devasa jetin bir bari, salonu ve vergisiz satis magazasiyla birlikte genis bir ekonomi sinifi yolcu bölümüne sahip. Ticari sinif üst güvertede bulunuyor.

Güney Kore Airbus A380'i kullanan 6. ülke. Ilk A380 gelecek ay Güney Kore'ye gelecek. A380 uzun mesafade genel olarak Amerika ve Avrupa'ya uçacak.

A South Korean airline company will be the next operator of the world�s largest airliner.

Korean Air will purchase ten Airbus A380 superjumbo jets by 2014 at around 400 billion won each.

The double-deck superjumbo jet�s have a bar, lounge and a duty-free shop and feature wider economy class seats. The business class occupies the whole upper deck.

South Korea is the sixth country in the world to operate the Airbus A380. The first A380 will arrive in South Korea next month. It will mainly fly long distance routes to the U.S. and Europe.

Güney Kore Turizm Bakanligi pazar günü bölgedeki turizm sektörünü artirmak için bir ugras olan üç ülkeyi birbirine baglayan “Altin Tur Rotlari”ni gelistirmek için Çin ve Japonya ile anlasmaya vardi.

Ortak bir bildiri ile önemli olaylardan biri olan anlasmayi, Güney Kore Kültür, Spor ve Turizm Bakani Chong Byoung-gug, Çin Ulusal Turizm Idaresi Baskani Shao Qiwei ve Japonya Arazi, Altyapi, Ulastirma ve Turizm Bakani olan Akihiro Ohata bu dag tatil belgesinde yapilan yillik toplantida kabul etti.

Tourism ministers of South Korea, China and Japan agreed Sunday to develop "golden tour routes" linking the three nations in an effort to boost tourism industries in the region.

The agreement was the highlight of a joint declaration that South Korea's Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Choung Byoung-gug, China's National Tourism Administration chief Shao Qiwei, and Akihiro Ohata, Japan's Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism minister, adopted at their annual meeting in this alpine resort town.

Savcilar pazar günü Latin Amerika milletleri uyusturucu kaçakçiligi anlasilan ilk vaka olan, ABD merkezli bir Kore çetesinin eski üyesinin Meksika’dan Güney Kore’ye uyusturucu kaçirmak ile suçlandigini açikladi.

Savcilar, 42 yasinda Moon olarak adlandirilan kisinin iddiaya göre toplam 287 gram metamfetamini geçen yil Meksika’dan uluslararasi kurye hizmetleri araciligi 2009 yili mayis ve agustos aylari arasinda 22 kez getirdigini açikladi.

Prosecutors said Sunday they indicted a former U.S.-based Korean gang member on charges of smuggling drugs from Mexico and selling them in South Korea, the first known case of drug smuggling from the Latin American nation.

The 42-year-old, identified only as Moon, allegedly brought in a total of 287 grams of methamphetamine, or 9,600 doses, from Mexico on 22 occasions via international courier services between December 2009 and May last year, prosecutors said.

A plot in Myeongdong has been named the most expensive land in Seoul for the second consecutive year. The land, which now houses a cosmetics shop, costs more than 200 million won per three-point-three square meters.

The same-size plot costs 15-thousand won in Dobong-dong, Dobong District, posting the cheapest one in Seoul.

Seoul to ban smoking at public squares from Wednesday

Seoul Çarsambadan Itibaren Kamuya Açik Alanlarda Sigara Içmeyi Yasaklayacak

Seoul Büyüksehir Belediyesi’nin sali günü söyledigine göre, çarsambadan itibaren Seoul sehir merkezindeki kamuya açik genis alanlarda sigara içerken yakananlar 100,000 won (93 Amerikan dolari) degerinde para cezasina çarptirilacak. Bu uygulama ile pasif içiciligin sebep oldugu saglik problemleri konusunda toplum bilincini arttirmak hedefleniyor.

Hükümet, sehir merkezindeki üç plazayi (Cheonggye, Seoul ve Gwanghwamun) sigara içilmesi yasak alan olarak belirleyen yeni belediye yönetmeliginin çarsamba günü uygulanmaya baslanacagini söyledi.

People will be fined 100,000 won (US$93) starting Wednesday if they are caught smoking in major public squares in downtown Seoul, a measure to heighten public awareness of the health hazards from secondhand smoking, the Seoul metropolitan government said Tuesday.

A new municipal ordinance designating three public plazas in the city center -- Cheonggye, Seoul and Gwanghwamun -- as non-smoking zones will go into effect on Wednesday, the government said.

Güney Kore’deki polis memurlarinin sayisi ilk kez 100 bini asti.

Kore Istatistikleri ve Ulusal Polis Merkezi tarafindan hazirlanan rapora göre, 2009’dan sonra yaklasik %1,6 artis göstererek 2010 yilindaki polis memuru sayisi toplamda 101,1 bine ulasti.

Isyerlerinde bayanlarin artmasi nedeniyle bayan polis memurlarinin sayisi da 2010’un sonunda %6,8’i polis kuvvetlerine katilmak üzere toplam 6,830’la en yüksek rakama ulasti.

The number of police officers in South Korea has surpassed 100-thousand for the first time.

According to data by Statistics Korea and the National Police Agency, the number of police officers in 2010 increased by about one-point-six percent from 2009, with a total number standing at 101-point-one-thousand.

With more women in the workplace, the number of female police officers numbered 6,830 as of late 2010, for six-point-eight percent of the entire police force, also the highest ever.

Seoul Büyüksehir Belediyesi 2001'de ABD askeri üssünün yakinlarindaki arazide petrol kirliligi olan büyük bir miktar su imha edildi.

Seoul Belediyesi Itaewon, Yongsan'daki ABD üssünün civarindaki arazide yaklasik 128 litre petrol ve 1870 ton kirli yeralti suyu çikarildi.

2008 yilinda Namyeongdong'udaki ABD üssünün yakinlarindan 440 litre petrol ve 100 ton kirlenmis yeralti suyu disari pompalandi.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government has removed a large amount of oil-contaminated water in areas near U.S. military bases since 2001.

Seoul City has extracted some 128 liters of floating oil and 18-hundred-70 tons of polluted groundwater around the U.S. base Yongsan in Itaewon.

Also, around 440 liters of oil and 100 tons of contaminated underground water have been pumped out near another U.S. base in nearby Namyeongdong since 2008.
