Engelli olan insanlar için kurulan Kore Aileleri Birligi üyeleri dün, Seoul'ün Hyochang semtinde yer alan ve o gün engelliler gününü anmak adina tören düzenlenen Kim Koo Müzesi ve Kütüphanesi'nin önünde polisle kavga etti. Protestocular, engelli çocuklarin refahini destekleyen bir yasanin yürürlüge girmesini talep ederken törene katilan Saglik Bakani Chin Soo-hee'e kendisiyle görüsmek istediklerini belirttiler.

The protesters were demanding a law be enacted to support the welfare of handicapped children and called for a talk with Chin Soo-hee, Minister of Health and Welfare, who attended the ceremony.

Jeju, New7Wonders Seçimlerinde Kazanmayi Istiyor

Burada görülen Seongsan Ilchul Bong, Mount Halla, Jusang Jeolli ve Baeknokdam, 2007'de kar amaci gütmeyen Isviçre merkezli New7Wonders Kurumu tarafindan baslatilan dünya çapinda bir proje olan "Doga'nin Yeni 7 Harikasi"ndan biri olmak için önerilen, Güney Kore'nin en güneyindeki tatil adasi olan Jeju'daki muhtesem dogal merkezlerdendirler. Kazananlar, halka açik internet ve telefon oylamasi araciligiyla kararlastirilacak ve 11 Kasim'da da açiklanacaktir.

The winners will be decided through public online and telephone voting and announced on Nov. 11.

Soil of Dokdo Given Its Own Name

Dokdo Topragina Kendi Ismi Verildi

Kirsal Gelistirme Idaresi (KGI), Güney Kore'nin en dogusunda bulunan Dokdo adasinin topragini isimlendirdi.

KGI, dogu denizindeki adalarin batisinda yer alan Ulleung Adasi'nin topragindan ayirt etmek için Dokda Adasi topragina "Dokdotong" ismini verdi. Önceden Dokdo ve Ulleung adalarinin topraklarinin ayni olduklari düsünülüyordu fakat idare, 2009'dan beri yapilan arastirmalarda topraklarin farkli oldugunun kesfedildigini belirtti.

Dokdo'daki kumlu toprak, volkanik kayalarin asinmasiyla olusmustur. Adada en az 20cm kalinliginda toprak bulunan her yerde bitki yetisebilmektedir. Kore'nin bu en dogusunda bulunan ada esi benzeri görülmemis bir sekilde, humuslu toprak ve ana kayçlarla kaplidir. Normalde, alt toprak tabakasi bu ikisinin arasinda bulunur.

KGI, bu adada yetistirmek üzere yabani çiçekler ve sifali otlar belirlemeyi planliyor.

The Rural Development Administration (RDA) has named the soil on South Korea’s easternmost Dokdo islets.

The administration named the soil “Dokdotong” to distuinguish it from the earth on Ulleung Island, which lies to the west of the islets in the east sea. Soil from both Ulleung and Dokdo were previously understood to be similar, but the administration said that surveys conducted since 2009 have found differences.

Dokdo’s sandy earth was created through the weathering of volcanic rocks. Plants can grow on the islets where the soil is at least 20 centimeters thick. The easternmost islets are uniquely layered by only topsoil and bedrock. Ordinarily, a layer of subsoil resides between the two.

The administration is planning to select wild flowers and medicinal herbs to grow on the islets.

S.Korea Marks 48th Law Day

Güney Kore Hukuk Günü'nün 48. Yil Dönümünü Kutluyor

Adalet Bakani Lee Kwi-nam Güney Kore'yi, adalet farkindaligi ve kamu yarari saglayacak olan yasal degerlere saygili adil bir toplum haline dönüstürmek için altyapi olusturmanin tam zamani oldugunu belirtti.

Lee, pazrtesi günü ulusun Hukuk Günü'nü kutlamak için düzenlenen törende konusma yapti.

Bakan, tarafli yasal uygulamalarin ve yozlasmis icralarin, Güney Kore'nin sosyal bütünlesme ve sürdürülebilir ekonomik gelisme kazanmasini engelleyen ana fail oldugunu söyledi. Bakan, adaleti saglamak, haksizligin kökünü kazimak ve devlet memurlarinin çalisma etigini güçlendirmek için adil ve seffaf standartlar olusturulmasini gerekli gördügünü belirtti.

Törene, Anayasa Mahkeme Baskani Lee Kang-kook ve Savci General Kim Joon-gyu gibi 500 civarinda hukuk adami katildi.

Justice Minister Lee Kwi-nam says that it is time to lay groundwork for turning South Korea into a fair society by respecting the values of law, which pursue the realization of justice and the common good.

Lee made the remarks in a ceremony to mark the nation’s 48th Law Day on Monday.

The minister said that unfair legal execution and corrupt practices are the main culprit that prevents South Korea from achieving social integration and sustainable economic growth. He called for the establishment of fair and transparent standards to execute law, the eradication of corruption and the strengthening of work ethics for government officials.

The ceremony was attended by some 500 legal figures such as Constitutional Court President Lee Kang-kook and Prosecutor General Kim Joon-gyu.

Yüksek mahkeme pazartesi günü, elektronik dava süreci ve hukuk egitim programlarinin da içinde bulundugu Güney Kore hukuk sisteminin Asya ülkelerindeki popülerliginin giderek arttigini söyledi.

Yüksek Mahkeme'ye göre, içlerinde Vietnam Yüksek Mahkeme baskaninin da bulundugu, kamuoyunca iyi taninan Vietnamli 7 hukuk adamindan olusan bir grup, Güney Kore'de avukat yetistirme amaçli kurulmus olan Kore Devlet Enstitüsünü ve yüksek mahkeme bilgisayar merkezini ziyaret etmek üzere pazar günü Seoul'e geldi.

South Korea's judiciary systems, including the electronic litigation process and legal training programs, have been increasingly drawing popularity in other Asian countries, the top court here said Monday.

According to the Supreme Court, a group of seven high-profile Vietnamese judicial figures, including the vice president of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam, arrived in Seoul on Sunday to visit South Korea's state institute for training lawyers and a computer center of the top court.

Eski Devlet Baskani Roh Tae-woo çarsamba günü, bir hastaneye sag akcigerinde bulunan akupunktur ignesinin çikartilmasi için iki haftadan daha az bir zaman içerisinde ikinci kez basvurdu.

Kaynaklar, 78 yasindaki Roh'un, Güney Kore'nin 1988-1993 yillari arasindaki devlet baskani, Seoul Ulusal Üniversitesi Hastanesinde kontrol edildigini ve akcigerinde bulunan yaklasik 3-4 cm uzunlugundaki igneyi çikarmak üzere persembe gününe ameliyati yapilmasi planlandigini söyledi.

Former President Roh Tae-woo was admitted to a hospital Wednesday for a second time in less than two weeks for surgery to remove an acupuncture needle found in his right lung.

Roh, 78, president of South Korea from 1988-1993, was checked in to Seoul National University Hospital and is scheduled to receive surgery Thursday to remove the needle, about 3 to 4 centimeters long, from his lung, sources said.
