Male cadets join army nursing academy

Erkek Askeri Ögrenciler, Ordu Hemsire Akademisine Katildilar.

Yeni erkek askeri ögrenciler, 30 Ocak 2012 tarihinde Daejeon kenti merkezindeki Silahli Kuvvetler Hemsirelik Akademisi'nde yapilan törene katildilar. Erkek askeri ögrenciler böylece ilk kez hemsirelik okulana girmis oldular.

Remains of U.S. soldier return home after 60 years

ABD askerinin kalintilari 60 yil sonra evlerine döndü

Güney Koreli bir asker, 2 Subat 2012 tarihinde Hawaii Ortak POW/MIA Muhasebe Komutanligi'ndaki DNA testinden sonra yas tutan aile üyelerine kalintilari sunmak için Seoul Ulusal Mezarligi'nda bir ABD askerinin kalintilarini tasidi. Amerika Birlesik Devletleri ve diger 15 ülke, Güney'in komünist Kuzey'den isgalci güçlere karsi yaptigi 1950-53 Kore Savasi sirasinda savasmisti. Savunma bakanligindan yapilan açiklamaya göre, 3,700'ü kayip olan yaklasik 37,000 ABD askeri eylemde öldürüldü. 7977 askerin kalintilari henüz kurtarilamadi. Güney Kore, savasta ölenlerin kalintilarini kurtarmak için uzun yillar harcadi.

The United States and 15 other nations fought for the South against invading forces from the communist North during the 1950-53 Korean War. According to the defense ministry, nearly 37,000 U.S. soldiers were killed in action, with about 3,700 going missing. Remains of 7,977 soldiers have not yet been recovered. South Korea has spent decades trying to recover the remains of war dead.

Medical checkup for military service

Ülkenin 21 aylik zorunlu askerlik hizmetine tabi olan gençler çarsamba günü Busan Bölgesel Askeri Isgücü Idaresinde saglik kontrolünden geçti. Bölge ofisi yil boyunca askeri birimlere gönderilmeden önce uygunluklarini belirlemek için 34.000 asker adayina saglik degerlendirmesi yapiyor.

Young men subject to the country’s 21-month compulsory military service receive a medical checkup at the Busan Regional Military Manpower Administration, Wednesday. The regional office carries out medical assessments throughout the year on 34,000 draftees to determine the level of their fitness before assigning them to a military unit.

Anti-terror drill ahead of Nuclear Security Summit

Nükleer Güvenlik Zirvesi Öncesinde Anti-Terör Tatbikati.

Güney Kore Sahil Güvenlik Komutanligi'na bagli özel kuvvetler, Seoul'ün batisindaki Incheon kapali sularinda terör tatbikati yaptilar. Düzenlenen tatbikatta; teröristler bir feribot kaçiriyor ve yolculari rehin alirken, Güven Güçleri de kaptan kösküne siziyorlar. Tatbikatin 26-27 tarihleri arasinda yapilmasi planlanan Nükleer Güvenlik Zirvesi'nin bir parçasi oldugu belirtildi. Zirveye, ABD dahil 50 ülke lideri katilacak. ABD baskani Barack Obama'nin, nükleer silahlarin olmadigi bir dünyayi nasil güvenli hale getirilebilir konusunu tartismak üzere zirveye katilmasi bekleniyor.

The drill is part of South Korea's preparation for the upcoming Nuclear Security Summit, scheduled for March 26 and 27. Some 50 world leaders, including U.S. President Barack Obama, are expected to attend the summit to discuss how to make the world safe without nuclear weapons.
