Naval cadets return after 95 days of cruise training

Deniz Harp Okulu Ögrencileri 95 Günlük Deniz Egitiminden Döndü

Deniz Harp Akademisi'nin mezun olacak 130 ögrencisini ve 480 mürettebat tasiyan Güney Kore Deniz Kuvvetleri gemi filosu, 95 günlük egitimini bitirerek 23 Aralik 2011 günü Seoul'un 410 km güneydogusundaki deniz üssü Jinhae'ye döndü. 39,956 kilometrelik yolculuk sirasinda ögrenciler, Türkiye, Fransa, Hindistan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka ve Japonya'nin da aralarinda bulundugu 10 ülkeyi ziyaret etti.

A fleet of South Korean navy ships carrying 130 graduating cadets of the Naval Academy and 480 crew members returns to a naval base in Jinhae, 410 km southeast of Seoul, on Dec. 23, 2011, ending a 95-day training cruise. During the 39,956-kilometer voyage, the cadets visited 10 countries, including Turkey, France, India, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Japan.

South Korea to Increase Maritime Forces Against Territorial Disputes

Güney Kore, Bölgesel Tartismalara Karsilik Deniz Kuvvetlerini Arttiracak

Güney Kore ordusu, deniz kuvvetlerini güçlendirmek ve olasi bölgesel tartismalara karsi önlem almak için yollar arastiriyor.

Girisim, Ulusal Meclis'in böyle bir seyin yapilmasini istemesinden sonra ortaya çikti.

Bir ordu kaynagina göre, deniz kuvvetlerini artirmak için 500 wonluk bir arastirma bütçesi tahsis edildi. Bu, Çin ve Japonya deniz kuvvetlerinin yakin zamandaki artisina bir cevap olacak.

Bu bütçeyle Savunma Bakanligi'ndan Kore'nin Dokdo Adalari ve Jeju Adasi'nin güneyindeki su alti kaya olusumu Ieodo üzerindeki haklarini savunmaya dair arastirma için ayrintili bir plan yapmasi istendi.

Büyük Ulusal Parti'nin bütçe ve hesaplardan sorumlu özel parlamento komitesi kaynagina göre, Kore'nin uzun vadede Dokdo Adalari ve Ieodo'yu savunmak için özel bir filo kurmasi, çok istenen bir sey.

The South Korean military is delving into ways to strengthen naval forces and countermeasures against possible territorial disputes.

The move comes after the National Assembly requested the military to take such action.

A military source said a research budget of 500-million won had been allocated to increase naval forces. This would be in response to the recent boost of Chinese and Japanese naval forces.

With the budget, the Ministry of Defense is now required to turn in blueprints for research over defending Korea's territorial rights over Dokdo islets and Ieodo, an underwater rock formation south of Jeju Island.

A ruling Grand National Party source on the parliamentary Special Committee on Budget and Accounts said it is desirable for Korea to create a special fleet to defend Dokdo islets and Ieodo over the long term.

6 Foreign Firms to Take Part in Helicopter Project

Güney Kore'nin ordusundaki büyük saldiri helikopterleri tanitacagi projede 6 yabanci sirket yer alacak.

Savunma Tedarik Programi Yönetimi, persembe günü proje hakkinda tanitici bir sunum düzenledigini ve ABD'den 3, Fransa, Türkiye ve Güney Afrika'dan birer üreticinin basvuru formu istedigini söyledi.

ABD'den Boeing, Bell Helikopter ve Sikorsky; Fransa'dan Eurocopter; Türk Havacilik ve Uzay Sanayi ve Güney Afrika'dan Denel, bu alti sirketi olusturuyor.

Bu firmalarin ürettigi saldiri helikopterleri, dakikada 700 kez atesleyebilen 20 mm mitralyöz donanimli.

Yönetim, ülkenin kuzeybati adalarinda konuslanacak 36 helikopter almak için 1.8 trilyon wondan fazla yatirim yapacak.

Six foreign companies will take part in South Korea's project to introduce large attack helicopters in its military.

The Defense Acquisition Program Administration says it held an introductory presentation on the project Thursday and three U.S. manufacturers and one each from France, Turkey and South Africa asked for an application form.

The six firms are Boeing, Bell Helicopter, Sikorsky of the U.S., France's Eurocopter, the Turkish Aerospace Industries and Denel of South Africa.

The attack helicopters produced by these firms are equipped with 20 millimeter machine guns that can fire 700 rounds per minute.

The administration will invest over one-point-eight trillion won to purchase 36 of the choppers, which will be deployed on the nation's northwestern islands.

Navy, Korea Coast Guard to Enhance Cooperation to Block Illegal Fishing

Choi ve Mo, cuma günü Incheon Sahil Güvenlik biriminde görüsmeler düzenleyerek ortak bir operasyon sistemi kurmaya karar verdi.

Bu amaçla iki taraf, uçak simülasyon egitimleri ve deniz tatbikatlarinda birbirlerini desteklemenin yani sira devriye bilgilerini paylasmaya da karar verdi.

Ek olarak, Sahil Güvenlik, komando alimi yaparken Deniz Kuvvetlerinde görev yapmis eski özel ajanlara avantaj saglamayi planlarken, Deniz Kuvvetleri, Sahil Güvenlik botlari için genis çapta bakim ve onarim saglamaya karar verdi.

The Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Choi Yoon-hee and the head of Korea’s Coast Guard Mo Kang-in have held talks to discuss ways to effectively crack down on illegal fishing by Chinese vessels in South Korean waters.

Choi and Mo on Friday held the talks at the Incheon Coast Guard and agreed to establish a close joint operations system.

To that end, the two sides decided to share patrol information as well as to support each other on aircraft simulation trainings and maritime drills.

In addition, the Navy has agreed to provide extended maintenance and repair services for the Coast Guard’s vessels, while the Coast Guard plans to give advantages to former special agents who served in the Navy when hiring its commandos.

South Korea and U.S. to Hold Joint Landing Exercise

Güney Kore ve Amerika Birlesik Devletleri'nin deniz piyade sinifi, önümüzdeki mart ayinda iki ülkenin askeri tarihinin en büyük ortak çikartma tatbikatini yapacak.

Güney Kore Deniz Kuvvetleri Komutani Lee Ho-yeon ile Amerikali mevkidasi Michael Renger, iki tarafin tugay düzeyindeki katilimiyla ortak çikartma tatbikati ve Amerikan Deniz Piyade Sinifi'nin Kore Yarimadasi'ndaki egitim programi kapsaminda Ssangyong tatbikatinin yapilmasi konusunda anlastilar.

Ssangyong tatbikati, 1989'da yapilan Takim Ruhu tatbikatindan 23 yil sonraki en büyük tatbikat olacak. Tatbikatta 10 bin civarinda Kore deniz piyadesi ile Okinawa üssündeki Amerikan kesif kuvvetleri katilacak.

Kuzey Gyeongsang Eyaleti'nin Pohang sehrinde yapilacak tatbikat çikartma, sizma ve fiili atistan olusacak. Kuzey Kore lideri Kim Jong-il'in ölümünün ardindan iki ülke arasinda ilk büyük genis çapli bir tatbikat olacak.

The Marine Corps of South Korea and the United States will be conducting the largest joint landing exercise in the two nation's military history this March.

Commander of South Korea’s Marine Corps Lee Ho-yeon and his U.S. counterpart Michael Regner agreed on Thursday to carry out the Ssangyong exercise by integrating the two sides’ brigade-level landing exercise and the U.S. Marine Corps training program on the Korean peninsula.

The Ssangyong exercise will be the largest in 23 years since the Team Spirit exercise was held in 1989. Around 10-thousand Korean marines and Okinawa-based U.S. marine expedition forces will take part in the drill.

The exercise will be held at Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, consisting of landing, infiltration and live fire exercises. It will be the first large-scale joint training session held between the two countries since the death of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il.
