Bradley Tanklari Kore'ye Ulasti

Yaklasik 100 civarinda Bradley tanki bugün itibari ile Güney KOre'nin en büyük liman sehri olan Busan'a ulasmasinin ardindan bosaltildi. Tanklar bu ayin sonunda trenle, Kuzey Gyeongsang eyaletinde bulunan Waegwan bölgesindeki Birlesmis Milletler Caroll Kampi'na gönderilecek. Kore Birlesmis Milletler Kuvvetleri, gelen tanklari basina tanitti.

Bradley tanks arrive in Korea

Some 100 Bradley tanks are unloaded after arriving at South Korea's largest port city of Busan on Oct. 12, 2011. The tanks will be moved by train to U.S. Camp Caroll in Waegwan, North Gyeonsang Province, by the end of the month. U.S. Forces Korea unveiled the tanks to the press.

60 nations, not 41, supported S. Korea during Korean War: report

Kore Savasi'nda Güney Kore'ye 41 Degil 60 Ülke Destek Verdi

Savunma bakanliginin cumartesi günü yayimladigi rapora göre, Kore Savasi sirasinda ve sonrasinda Güney Kore'ye muharip birlikler, saglik görevlileri ya da malzeme yardimi göndererek destek veren ülkeler daha önce bilinenin aksine toplamda 60 ülkeydi.

ABD ve diger 15 müttefik ülke 1950-53'deki savasta Kuzey Kore ve müttefiki Çin’e karsi Birlesmis Milletler bayragi altinda muharip birliklerle destek vermisti. Diger bes ülke ise savas sirasinda Güney Kore’ye yardim etmek için sihhi birlikler göndermisti.

A total of 60 nations had supported South Korea by sending combat troops, medics or material assistance during or after the Korean War, 19 more than previously estimated, a defense ministry report said Saturday.

The U.S. and 15 other allied nations contributed combat troops under the U.N. flag to fight against North Korea and its ally China during the 1950-53 war. Five other nations had sent medical units to help South Korea during the war.

New Defense Command to Hold First Joint Drills

Yeni Savunma Komutanligi Ilk Müsterek Tatbikatlarini Düzenleyecek

Kuzeybati Adalari Savunma Komutanligi, ekim ayinin sonlarinda Baengnyeong Adasi’nin yakininda kara, hava ve deniz kuvvetleriyle ilk müsterek tatbikatlarini düzenleyecek.

Genelkurmay Baskanligi birliklerin kara, deniz ve havadaki müsterek tatbikatlari düzenleme yetenegini gelistirmesi amaciyla her yil düzenlenen Hoguk tatbikatinin 27 Ekimden 4 Kasima kadar yapilacagini söyledi. Tatbikatta ABD Deniz Kuvvetlerinden 500 askerin de içinde bulundugu 140.000 birlik yer alacak.

Baskanliktan bir yetkilinin söyledigine göre, birlikler Kuzey Kore ordusunun tuzak kurmasi ve hava yastikli çikarma gemilerini kullanarak Güney Kore'nin kuzeybati cephe hatti adalarini ele geçirmesi plani kapsaminda egitim alacaklar.

Ayrica Deniz Kuvvetleri tarafindan Kore Yarimadasinin dogu yakasindaki Pohang yakinlarinda Güney Kore ve Amerikan birliklerinin müsterek tatbikatlar düzenleme yetenegini arttirmak için bir kara tatbikati da düzenlenecek.

The Northwestern Islands Defense Command will hold its first joint military exercises with the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines near the Baengnyeong Island in late October.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said the annual Hoguk exercise will be held from October 27th to November fourth with the aim to develop troops’ ability to conduct joint operations on land, sea, and air. The JCS said some 140-thousand troops, including 500 soldiers from the U.S. Navy and Marines, will take part.

A JCS official said the troops will train under a scenario in which the North Korean military is ambushing and taking over South Korea’s northwestern frontline islands using Landing Craft Air Cushion vehicles (LCAC).

In addition, a landing operation by the Marines to enhance South Korean and U.S. troops’ ability to conduct combined operations will be held near Pohang in the east coast of the Korean Peninsula.

Strateji Ticareti Haftasi Basladi
