G. Kore yeni helikopter üretecek

Güney Kore Deniz Filosu, 2023 yilina kadar 40 yeni helikopter üretmeyi düsünüyor.

Deniz Filosu'nun yayinladigi bir rapordaki bilgilere göre, deniz kuvvetleri mevcut UH-60 model helikopterlerini toplamda 560 milyar won ödeyerek yenilemeyi planliyor.

Rapora göre, her helikopterin 14 milyar won'luk maliyeti olacak ve 2016 yilinda ise ilk iki helikopter piyasaya sürülecek.

S.Korea to produce New Helicopters

The South Korean Marine Corps is pushing to produce 40 new helicopters by 2023.

According to a report published by the Marine Corps, the Navy is planning to replace its current UH-60 helicopters with new ones at a cost of 560 billion won.

The report said that each helicopter will cost 14 billion won and the first two units will be produced in 2016.

SEOUL, 5 Ekim (Yonhap) - Güney Kore'nin askeri yetkilileri Persembe günü yaptigi açiklamada, bu hafta Sari Deniz'deki sinir adalarinda tatbikat yapacagini bildirdi.

Kuzeybati Adalari Savunma Komutanligi'nin Kurmay Baskanlari'nin (JCS) ortaklasa yürütecekleri tatbikatin bati kiyilarindaki Baengnyeong ve Yeonpyeong adalarinda Cuma sabahi baslatilacagini bildirdi.

S. Korea to conduct firing drill on Yellow Sea this week:

SEOUL, Oct. 5 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will hold live-fire drills on border islands in the Yellow Sea this week, the military said Thursday.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said the Northwest Islands Defense Command will carry out an exercise Friday morning on Yeonpyeong and Baengnyeong islands off the west coast.

Int'l arms exhibitions to open this month

Savunma Bakanligndan yapilan açiklamaya göre, yerel ve uluslararasi askeri kollardan bazilari, bu ayin sonunda Güney Kore'de askeri ekipman tanitim fuarlari düzenleyecekler.

2011 Seoul Uluslarasi Havacilik ve Savunma Fuari (ADEX), 18-23 Ekim tarihleri arasinda Seoul'ün biraz güneyindeki Seongnam Havaalani'nda gerçeklestirilecek. Seoul'ün 450 km güney dogundaki liman sehri Busan'da 26-29 Ekim tarihleri arasinda 2011 Deniz ve Savunma fuari düzenlenecek.

A pair of arms exhibitions showcasing domestic and international military equipment will kick off in South Korea later this month, the defense ministry said Wednesday.

The 2011 Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX) will take place from Oct. 18 to 23 at Seongnam Airfield just south of Seoul. Busan, some 450 kilometers southeast of Seoul, will host the 2011 Naval & Defense expo from Oct. 26 to 29.

Daha önceki vakada, Seoul Mapo Emniyet Müdürlügü, 17 Eylül tarihinde, sabah saatlerinde Seoul'ün merkezinde 18 yasindaki bir kizin Mapo'da kiraladigi ögrenci odasinda cinsel tacize ugradigi iddialari üzerine 8. Amerika Ordusu ile ortak çalisarak 21 yasindaki askeri sorguladiklarini belirtti.

Another US soldier in Korea under probe for raping underage girl

Another U.S. soldier in Korea is under investigation on suspicion of raping an underage South Korean girl, police said Friday, less than two weeks after a similar case enraged locals.

The Seoul Mapo Police Station said they were interrogating the 21-year-old private from a communications brigade of the 8th U.S. Army over allegations that he sexually assaulted the 18-year-old girl in her rented room in Mapo, central Seoul, in the early morning of Sept. 17.

S. Korean military beefs up border vigilance against N. Korea

South Korea's military has stepped up vigilance against possible North Korean provocations after the communist nation showed signs of unusual military movements along the tense western sea border, an official in Seoul said Wednesday.

The South has confirmed that the North has deployed an unidentified number of fighter jets to a front-line base near the maritime boundary in the Yellow Sea and moved ground-to-air missiles to a region north of the South's northernmost island of Baengyeong, an official said.
