Kim Joong-up (김중업)



Kim Joong-up (1922–1988) önemli bir Koreli mimar ve eğitimciydi. Babası Kim Yeong-pil (金永弼) ve annesi Yi Yeong-ja (李英子) nın 2. oğlu olarak Pyongyang’da doğmuştur. Onun ikisi kız dördü erkek olmak üzere altı kardeşi vardı. Babasının bölge yöneticisi olmasından dolayı Gangdong, Junghwa, Seongcheon ve diğerleri gibi çeşitli yerlerde çocukluğunu geçirmiştir. Kim 1962’de Seoul Hükümeti tarafından 1962 kültür ödülü, 1965’de Fransa hükümeti tarafından şövalyelik ve 1985’de Güney Kore hükümeti tarafından Sanayi Hizmet Liyakat Nişanı ile ödüllendirildi.

Busan'da bulunan Birleşmiş Milletler Anıt Mezarlığı’nın Ana Kapısı’nı ve anma salonunu tasarlamıştır.

Kim Joong-up (김중업)



Kim Joong-up (1922–1988) was a prominent Korean architect and educator. He was born in Pyongyang as the second son of his father, Kim Yeong-pil (金永弼) and his mother, Yi Yeong-ja (李英子). He had six siblings, four of which were brothers, and the rest were sisters. He spent his childhood in various places such as Gangdong, Junghwa, Seongcheon and others due to his father's job as the country headman of the places. Kim was awarded the 1962 Cultural Award from Seoul Metropolitan Government in 1962, Chevalier from the France government in 1965, Order of Industrial Service Merit from the South Korea government in 1985.

He designed the Main Gate and a memorial hall at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan.
