PM Proposes Step-by-step Expansion for College Entrance Evaluation

Başbakan Üniversiteye Giriş Değerlendirmesi için Adım Adım İlerleme Öneriyor

Başbakan Lee Nak-yon, 2021 üniversite giriş sınavı için kritere dayalı bir değerlendirme sistemini uygulamanın bir yolu olarak adım adım ilerleme önerdiğini söyledi. Bu tür bir sistem, öğrencileri birbirleriyle rekabet ettirmek yerine akademik başarı ölçütlerinin bir listesini verecek.

Lee perşembe günü, ülkenin üniversite giriş sınavını gözden geçirmenin yollarının tartışıldığı bir toplantıya başkanlık ettikten sonra bu yorumu yaptı.

Moon Jae-in Hükümeti öncelikli olarak, üniversite giriş değerlendirmelerini basitleştirmek ve bu ayın sonundan önce 2021 kolej giriş sınavını yenileme yollarını kesinleştirmeyi vadetti.

Eğitim Bakanlığı, nihai reform planını hazırlamayı ve kamuoyunun görüşlerini topladıktan sonra bu ayın sonunda bunu ilan etmeyi hedefliyor.

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon said he proposed step-by-step expansion as a way to introduce a criterion-referenced evaluation system for the 2021 college entrance exam. Such system would give students a list of academic benchmarks to achieve rather than put them in competition with each other.

Lee made the comment Thursday after he chaired a meeting that discussed ways to overhaul the nation’s university entrance exam.

The Moon Jae-in government had initially vowed to simplify college entrance evaluations and finalize ways to revamp the 2021 college entrance exam before the end of this month.

The Education Ministry is aiming to come up with the final reform plan and announce it at the end of this month after collecting public opinions.

Students Protest Plan to Hire Fewer Teachers

Öğrenciler Daha Az Öğretmenin İşe Alınması Planını Protesto Ediyor

Yüzlerce eğitim üniversitesi öğrencisi, önümüzdeki yıl yeni ilkokul öğretmenlerinin istihdamını azaltmak için Cuma günü hükümet planını protesto etti.

Seoul Büyükşehir Eğitim Bürosu, bir önceki gün mevcut öğrenci sayısındaki ve emekliye ayrılan öğretmen sayısındaki azalma nedeniyle öğretmen istihdamının yüzde 88 oranında kesileceğini söyledi. Eğitim Bakanlığı, ülke genelinde ilkokullarda yeni öğretmenlik pozisyonlarının önümüzdeki yıl yüzde 40,2 oranında düşüş göstereceğini açıkladı.

Seoul Ulusal Eğitim Üniversitesi'nden bir öğrenci temsilcisi, Seoul eğitim bürosunun önünde düzenlenen mitingde "Bu saçmalık. Pozisyonlar, bu yıl yüzde 12’ye kadar azaltılacak. Bu oran üniversite mezunlarının üçte birinden bile az” şeklinde bir açıklama yaptı. Protestoya yaklaşık 700 öğrenci katıldı. Yetkili makamları planı yeniden gözden geçirmeye çağırdılar ve onlardan açık sayısının gelecek yıl mezunlarını işe almak için yeterli olacağını garanti etmelerini istediler.

Öğrenci grubu, "Bu kesinti gerçekten gerekli ve kaçınılmazsa, yeterli bildirim ve kademeli ayarlamalar yapmalı" dedi.

Bu beklenmedik azalışın hükümetin gençler için iş olanaklarını arttırma sözüne ve pedagoji alanında uzmanlaşmış devlet üniversitesinin amacına ters düştüğünü de eklediler.

Öğrenci temsilcileri, günün ilerleyen saatlerinde Seoul eğitim büro müfettişi Cho Hee-yeon ile görüşecekler.

Hundreds of education college students protested a government plan in Seoul on Friday to sharply reduce the recruitment of new elementary school teachers next year.

The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education said the previous day that teacher hiring will be cut by 88 percent because of decreases in the number of students and retiring teachers. Nationwide, new teacher positions in primary schools will decline by 40.2 percent next year, the education ministry said.

“It’s preposterous. The positions will be axed to 12 percent of this year’s. It’s even less than one-third of our prospective graduates at the university,” a representative of students from the Seoul National University of Education said during a rally in front of the Seoul education office. Some 700 students took part in the protest. They called on the education authorities to reconsider the plan and guarantee the number of openings would be enough to hire next year’s graduates.

“If the cut is really necessary and inevitable, it should proceed with sufficient notification and gradual adjustments,” the student group said.

The abrupt reduction runs counter to the government’s pledge to increase jobs for youth and the purpose of the state-run college specializing in pedagogy, it added.

Student representatives were to meet Superintendent Cho Hee-yeon of Seoul’s education office later in the day.

KOICA Builds School for Hearing-Impaired Students in Jordan

KOICA Ürdün'de İşitme Engelliler Okulu Oluşturuyor

Kore Uluslararası İşbirliği Ajansı (KOICA) Çarşamba günü Ürdün'de işitme engelli ilköğretim, orta ve lise öğrencilerine hitap eden özel amaçlı bir okul inşa ettiğini söyledi.

Hibe yardımı sağlayan hükümet ajansı, 2014 yılından bu yana Ürdün'deki işitme engelli öğrencilerin eğitim kalitesini yükseltmeye ve uzman öğretmenlerin yetiştirilmesine yönelik olarak 5,2 milyon dolar yatırım yaptı.

32 derslikli beş katlı okul, Büyük Amman Belediyesi'ndeki Marka semtinde bulunuyor.

Okul, işitme engelliğinin teşhisi için de dahil olmak üzere öğretim materyalleri, aletler ve teçhizatla donatılmıştır.

Bu tür öğrenciler için müfredat ve ders kitabı geliştirme uzmanları da okula gönderilecek.

KOICA, okulun Ekim ayında tamamlanacağını gösteren bir tören düzenleyecek ve projeyi tamamlayacak.

The Korea International Cooperation Agency(KOICA) said Wednesday that it has built a special purpose school in Jordan catering to elementary, middle and high school students with hearing disabilities.

The government agency that provides grant-type aid assistance invested five-point-two million dollars into the project since 2014 aimed at improving education quality for hearing-impaired students in Jordan and fostering specialized teachers.

The five-story school with 32 classrooms is located in the district of Marka in the Greater Amman Municipality.

The school is equipped with teaching materials, tools and equipment including for diagnosing hearing impairment.

Experts on curricula and course book development for such students will also be dispatched to the school.

The KOICA will hold a ceremony marking the school's completion in October and wrap up the project.

King Sejong Institute's Online Subscribers Surpass 100,000

Kral Sejong Enstitüsünün Çevrimiçi Aboneleri 100.000'i Geçti

Devlet tarafından yürütülen bir Kore dili eğitim merkezi olan Kral Sejong Enstitüsü Cuma günü yaptığı açıklamada, çevrimiçi öğrenme web sitesinde yer alan abone sayısının 100.000'i aştığını söyledi.

2015 yılında 60.000 olan Nuri-Sejonghakdang (www.sejonghakdang.org) abonesi tutarı, enstitüye göre, yaklaşık 1 1/2 sene içinde kilometre taşına ulaştı.

2009'da hizmete giren web site şu anda video dersleri, çevrimiçi çizgi romanlar ve animasyonlar da dahil olmak üzere yaklaşık 13.000 multimedya eğitim materyali barındırıyor. Kullanıcı arayüzü olarak Korece, İngilizce ve Çince dilleri de mevcuttur.

Korece alfabesi "hangeul" ı icat eden Joseon Hanedanlığı (1392-1910) kralından adını alan enstitü, 58 ülkede yaklaşık 50.000 öğrenciye sahip 177 dil okulunu işletiyor.

The King Sejong Institute, a state-run Korean language education center, said Friday the number of subscribers on its online-learning website has surpassed 100,000.

The subscriber volume for Nuri-Sejonghakdang (www.sejonghakdang.org), which stood at 60,000 in 2015, reached the milestone in just about 1 1/2 years, according to the institute.

Launched in 2009, the website currently hosts some 13,000 multimedia educational materials, including video courses, online comics and animations. The user interface is available in Korean, English and Chinese.

"The website was created for Korean language students of all levels, from novices to advanced-level learners," a representative at the institute said.

Named after the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) king who invented the Korean alphabet, "hangeul," the institute runs 177 language schools in 58 nations, with some 50,000 students.
