S. Korea Releases List of 700 Foreign Students for Scholarship Program

Güney Kore, Kore Burs Programı için 700 Yabancı Uyruklu Öğrenci Listesini Yayınladı

Güney Kore, devlet destekli burs programı çerçevesinde yerel üniversitelerde okuması için izin verilen 700 yabancı öğrencinin adı bulunduğu liste yayınladı.

Çarşamba günü Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı Uluslararası Eğitim Enstitüsü, Ulusal Küresel Kore Burs programı kapsamında kazananların listesini açıkladı.

142 ülkeden 700 öğrencinin %35’i yani 245’i Asya ülkesinden, %27’si yani 188’i Avrupa’dan ve %16’sı ise Afrika’dan.
Tek bir ülkeden gelen en çok öğrenci 23 kişi ile Endonezya’dır. Onu 22 kişi ile Çin ve 20 ile Amerika takip ediyor.

%42’si mühendislik ve %3 müzik ve spor eğitimi alacakken %55 ise beşeri ve sosyal bilimleri eğitimi alacak.

Yabancı öğrenciler, doktora ve yüksek lisans kazanmak için 56 üniversitede lisansüstü kurslarına katılmadan önce eylül ayından itibaren bir yıllığına Korece öğrenecek.

Küresel Kore Burs programı, davet etmeyi, yabancı yeteneklerini teşvik etmeyi ve küresel ağını genişletmeyi hedefliyor. 1967 yılından itibaren Güney Kore yerel üniversitelere 150 ülkeden 7400 yabancı burslu öğrenciyi davet etti.

South Korea has released a list of 700 foreign students who will be allowed to study in local universities under the government-sponsored scholarship program.

The National Institute for International Education affiliated with the Education Ministry on Wednesday unveiled the list of recipients under the Global Korea Scholarship program.

Of the 700 students from 142 countries, 245, or 35 percent, are from Asia, 188, or 27 percent, are from Europe and 16 percent are from Africa.

The most students from a single country are Indonesian with 23, followed by 22 Chinese and 20 Americans.

Fifty-five percent of them will study humanities and the social sciences, while 42 percent will learn engineering and three percent music and sports.

The foreign students will learn the Korean language for one year from September before enrolling in graduate courses at 56 universities to earn masters and doctorate degrees.

The Global Korea Scholarship program is aimed at inviting and fostering foreign talents and expanding a global network. Since 1967, South Korea has invited about 74-hundred foreign scholarship students from 150 countries to local universities.

Gov't, Ruling Camp Agree to Slash Student Loan Interest

Hükümet, İktidar Grubu Öğrenci Kredi Faizlerini Azaltma Konusunda Anlaştı

Hükümet ve iktidardaki Saenuri Partisi, hükümetin sağladığı öğrenci kredi faiz oranlarını, bu yılın ikinci döneminde başlamak üzere %2.7’den %2.5’e düşürmek konusunda anlaştı.

İktidardaki Saenuri Partisi’nden Milli Eğitim, Kültür, Spor Ve Turizm Komitesi yönetici sekreteri, milletvekili Lee Jang-woo, perşembe sabahı düzenlenen parti ve hükümetin katıldığı toplantının sonuçlarını duyurdu.

Bilgilendirme toplantısında Lee, öğrenim harcı faiz oranlarının 2013 yılıdan 2015 yılının birinci sömestrına kadar %2.9 olduğunu ve bu yılın ilk sömestrına kadar da %2.7’ye düşürüldüğünü söyledi.

Lee’nin söylediğine göre hükümet ve iktidar parti ikinci sömestrdan itibaren başlamak üzere %2.5’e tekabül edecek ek bir düşüş konusunda anlaşmıştır.

Düşüşün temeli, ülkedeki ve yurtdışındaki ekonomik dengesizliklerin yaşandığı bu dönemde, öğrencilerin öğrenim harcı yükünü hafifletmektir.

The government and the ruling Saenuri Party have agreed to cut interest rates on government guaranteed student loans from two-point-seven percent to two-point-five percent starting from the second semester of this year.

Ruling Saenuri Party lawmaker Lee Jang-woo, who is the executive secretary of the parliament's Education, Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, announced results of a party and government meeting held Thursday morning.
In a briefing, Lee said the interest rate on tuition loans was two-point-nine percent from 2013 to the first semester of 2015, and was lowered to two-point-seven until this year's first semester.

He said the government and the ruling party agreed to an additional cut to two-and-a-half percent starting from the second semester.

He said the rate cut is aimed at easing the tuition burden of students in spite of lingering economic uncertainties at home and abroad.

Korean Language Teachers from 51 Nations Invited for Training

51 Ülkeden Korece Öğretmeni Eğitim Programına Davet Edildi


Dünyanın her yerinden Korece öğretmeni kendi ülkelerinde bir hafta sürecek olan eğitim programına katılıyorlar.

Kore Denizaşırı Ülkeler Kurumunun bugün söylediğine göre, Gyeonggi, Incheon'daki eğitim enstitüsünde Korece öğretim yöntemleri üzerine verilen derslere katılmaları için 51 ülkeden 201 Korece öğretmenini davet ettiler.

Korece dil öğretimi konusunda uzmanlığı artırmak için yapılan bu programın yanı sıra, öğretmenler tarihini ve kültürünü deneyimleme fırsatına erişecekler ve Kore alfabesi Hangeul'u bulan Büyük Kral Sejong'un mezarını ziyaret edecekler.

Öğretmenler Seoul'a Pazar günü geldiler ve Cumartesi günü ayrılacaklar. Birçok konferans ve diğer çalışma alanları sayesinde yurt dışındaki Korece öğretmenlerinin uzmanlığını ve eğitimsel sürecini paylaşmak amacıyla yıllık eğitim programına 1998 yılında başlandı.

Korean language teachers from around the world are taking part in a weeklong training program in their home country.

The Overseas Koreans Foundation said Friday that it has invited 201 Korean language teachers from 51 countries to attend classes on Korean language teaching methods at a training institute in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.

Along with programs to enhance their Korean language teaching expertise, the teachers are getting the opportunity to experience Korea's culture and history, including a visit to the tomb of King Sejong the Great who invented the Korean alphabet Hangeul.

The teachers arrived in Seoul on Sunday and will leave on Saturday. The annual training program was launched in 1998 to shore up the expertise and educational drive of Korean language teachers abroad through a range of lectures and other field programs.

New 'Seoul Best 100' Guidebook to be Published

Yeni Rehber Kitabı "Seoul'ün En İyi 100ü" Yayınlanacak

Bir şehir yetkilisinin Pazartesi günü söylediğine göre güncellenmiş bir Seoul rehber kitabı Güney Kore'nin başkentindeki yeni turistik yerler ve toplu taşımacılığı yansıtmak için yıl sonuna kadar yayınlanmış olacak.

Kaynak "160 milyon won(140.000 dolar) harcayarak "Seoul'ün en iyi 100ü"nün 100.000 kopyası için sipariş verdik" dedi.

Yetkili yeni 120 sayfalık el kitabının Korece, İngilizce, basitleştirilmiş ve geleneksel Çince ve Japonca olmak üzere 5 dilde basılacağını söyledi.

Yetkili "Seoul'ü ziyaret edenlere yardım etmek, özellikle ilk kez gelenlere, bu kitap sayesinde hızlı bir göz gezdirme ile şehrimizdeki 25 bölgeye dikkat çekmek istiyoruz, bu Seoul'ü öğrenmek için temel bir kitap" dedi.

Dongdaemun Tasarım Plazası ve Metro Hattı 9 gibi yeni toplu taşımada içeren 6 yıl önce yayınlanmış en son rehber hakkında dikkat çekmediğiyle ilgili konuşmalar olmuştu.

Yeni kitabı yaparken, şehir Ekim ayında şehrin en gözde 100 mekanını bulmak için tur ve tanıtım uzmanları ve Seoul'de kalan yabancılardan oluşan bir panel başlatacağını belirten yetkili, halkın fikrinin de aynı zamanda online anketler yoluyla yansıtılacağını ekledi.

Yetkili el kitabının bölgenin çekiciliğine dair bilgilerin yanı sıra iletişim numaraları, adresleri, ulaşım, işletim zamanı, ücretler ve ziyaretçi fikirlerinide içereceğini söyledi.

Özellikle, şehir telif hakkı almayarak herkesin içeriğini kullanmasına izin vermek için karar aldı.

An updated Seoul guidebook will be published by the end of the year to reflect new tourist attractions and public transportation in the South Korean capital, a city official said Monday.

"We've placed an order to make 100,000 copies of the new 'Seoul Best 100' by spending 160 million won (US$140,000)," the source said.

The new 120-page guidebook will be printed in five languages -- Korean, English, simplified and traditional Chinese, and Japanese -- the official said.

"We'd like to help tourists visiting Seoul, especially those coming for the first time, get a comprehensive grasp of attractions in the 25 wards in our city with just a quick skim through of this book," the official said. "It's kind of a basic book to learn about Seoul."

There have been voices that the latest guidebook, published six years ago, does not reflect new attractions, including Dongdaemun Design Plaza, and new public transportation like Subway Line 9.

In making the new book, the city will launch a panel comprised of tour and promotion experts and foreigners residing in Seoul to find the city's top 100 attractions by October, the official said. Public opinions will also be reflected in the book via online surveys, he added.

The guidebook will contain information on contact numbers, addresses, transportation, operation times, fares and visitor opinions, as well as basic information about the attractions, the official said.

In particular, the city has decided to not copyright the book, enabling everyone to make use of its content.
