Samsung Denies Talks with Apple Over Reconciliation

Samsung Apple ile Uzlasma Üzerine Görüstügü Haberini Reddetti

Samsung, yetkililerinin Apple yöneticileriyle iki sirket arasinda devam eden hukuki savasi görüsmek üzere temasa geçtigi haberlerini yalanliyor.

Bloomberg Businessweek tarafindan yapilan haberde, Apple’in CEO’su Tim Cook’un davayi büyük bir intikam araci olarak degil kaçinilmaz bir durum olarak degerlendiriyor gibi göründügü ve kendisinden önce görevde bulanan Steve Jobs’un Apple rekabetinin ortadan kaldirilmasi gerektigine dair düsüncesi paylasmadigi söylendi.

Haberde iki sirketin ortak bir anlasmaya varmasi durumunda yasal ücretlerden iki tarafin da 440 milyar won'a varan bir miktarda kazançta olacagi belirtildi.

Samsung Electronics, Apple ile temasta bulunmadigini ve en büyük rakibi ile uzlasma plani olmadigini söyleyerek haberi resmi olarak reddetti.

Samsung is denying reports that its officials communicated with Apple executives to discuss the ongoing legal battle between the two companies.

Bloomberg Businessweek reported that Apple CEO Tim Cook appears to view litigation as a necessary evil, not a vehicle of cosmic revenge, and does not share his predecessor Steve Jobs’ view that Apple’s competition should be wiped out.

The report said if the two companies reach a mutual agreement, it would save them both up to 440 billion won in legal fees.

Samsung Electronics officially denied the report, saying it did not communicate with Apple and it has no plans to reconcile with its biggest competitor.

Fisheries Federation Says FTA With China Could Wreak Havoc to local Market

Balikçilik Federasyonu Çin'le Serbest Ticaret Anlasmasi Yerli Piyasayi Mahvedebilir Diyor

Balikçilik Isbirliginin Ulusal Federasyonu Baskani Lee Jong-ku, Güney Kore ve Çin arasinda serbest ticaret anlasmasinin imzalanmasi halinde deniz ürünlerinin tarife kesintilerinden muaf olmasi gerektigini söyledi.

Lee federasyonun 50. yildönümü için yerel basinla yapilmis olan röportajinda: "Çin'den Güney Kore'ye ithal gelen deniz ürünlerine, özellikle de canli baliga tarife kesintileri uygulanmasi durumunda Güney Kore deniz ürünleri piyasasi zarar görebilir." dedi.

Sili ve ABD Güney Kore'ye deniz ürünleri ihracatini durdurdu.

Lee simdiki tarifelerin Çin'den gelen mallara uygulanmasi gerektiginin altini çizdi.

Güney Kore Çin'e yilda ortalama 280 milyon dolar degerinde deniz ürünü ihraç ediyorken komsu ülkeden ithal ürün degeri yilda 1.7 milyari buluyor.

Lee bundan baska da Çin'in yasadisi balikçi teknelerini cezalandirma yöntemlerini kuvvetlendirmek gerektigini ve onlari yakalama görevini Güney Kore yetkililerinin üstlenmesi gerektigini bildirdi.

Lee Jong-ku, chairman of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperation, said marine products should be exempt from tariff cuts in the case of a free trade agreement between South Korea and China.

Lee said in an interview with local media for the fiftieth anniversary of the federation, that the South Korean marine products market could be destabilized if tariff cuts are introduced to Chinese marine products, especially live fish that could be imported from China.

Chile and U.S. export frozen marine products to South Korea.

Lee said the current tariffs should be maintained in the case of Chinese goods.

South Korea exports an average of two-hundred-eighty million dollars worth of marine goods to China each year, but imports one-point-seven billion dollars worth from the neighboring country yearly.

Lee also said punishment should be beefed up for illegal Chinese fishing boats and their catch should be seized by South Korean authorities.

South Korea Records $2.3 Bln Trade Surplus in March

Güney Kore Mart ayinda 2,3 Milyar Dolarlik Dis Ticaret Fazlasi Kaydetti

Güney Kore, Ocak ayindaki ticaret açigindan sonra mart ayinda 2.3 milyar dolarlik ticaret fazlasini kaydetti.

Bilgi Ekonomisi Bakanligi pazar günü, ithalatin %1.4'lük düsüsle 47.3 milyar dolara ve ihracatin %1.2'lik düsüsle 45 milyar dolara gerileyerek 2.3 milyar dolarlik dis ticaret fazlasinin kaydedildigini söyledi.

Güney Kore ocak ayindaki 2 milyar dolarlik ticaret açigindan sonra (24 aydaki ilk açik) 2.2 milyon dolarlik ticaret fazlasiyla sallandi.

Ilk çeyrekte, Güney Kore dis ticaret fazlasini 1.6 milyar dolar olarak kaydetti.

Mart ayindaki ihracat araba önderliginde ilerliyordu ancak yari iletkenler ve diger IT ürünleri ile gemi ve kablosuz iletisim cihazlarina olan düsük talep daralmayla sonuçlandi.

Ithalat da mart ayinda enerji mallarinin artmasina ragmen çelik, demir disi metaller ve diger sermaye mallari alimlarindan küçüldü.

South Korea recorded a two-point-three billion dollar trade surplus in March, marking a second surplus after the trade deficit in January.

The Ministry of Knowledge Economy said on Sunday exports in March fell one-point-four percent year-on-year to forty-seven-point-three billion dollars and imports also shrank one-point-two percent to forty-five billion dollars from a year earlier, recording a trade surplus of two-point-three billion dollars.

South Korea swung to a trade surplus of two-point-two billion dollars after recording a trade deficit of two-billion dollars in January, the first deficit in twenty-four months.

During the first quarter, South Korea recorded a trade surplus of one-point-six billion dollars.

Exports in March were led by cars, but weak demand for semiconductors and other IT related products, ships and wireless communication devices resulted in the contraction.

Imports also shrank from smaller purchases of steel, nonferrous metals and other capital goods, despite the increased import of energy commodities in March.

Gov't, Farmers Strike Deal on Pork Imports

Devlet ve Çiftçiler Ithal Domuz Etinde Anlastilar

Devlet ve domuz yetistiren çiftçiler, endüstrinin gümrük vergisi olmadan hükümetin ithal domuz eti planiyla ilgili itirazlari konusunda anlastilar.

Yaklasik dokuz saatlik görüsmeden sonra, Tarim Bakanligi ve Kore Domuz Dernegi 20 bin ile 70 bin ton arasinda vergisiz ithal domuz eti kotasinda anlastilar. Dernek daha sonra pazartesiden itibaren süresiz olarak domuz eti üretimini askiya alma planini geri çekti.

Iki taraf da bu yil domuz eti fiyatlarinin her kilo için 3900 wonun altina düsmesi halinde, devlet ve dernegin ortak çalisacagini ve devletin 100 milyar wonluk domuz alimi saglayacagi konusunda anlastilar.

The government and pig farmers have struck an agreement regarding the industry's protest over the government's plan to import pork without tariffs.

After nearly nine hours of negotiations, the Agriculture Ministry and the Korea Swine Association agreed to cut the quota of tariff-free foreign pork imports from 70-thousand to 20-thousand tons. The association then withdrew its plan to suspend pork production indefinitely from Monday.

The two sides also agreed that if pork prices fall below 39-hundred won per kilogram later this year, the government and the association would form a joint task force and the government would provide one hundred billion won to purchase pork reserves.

FM: Too Soon to Celebrate Positive Economic Signs

Maliye Bakani: Olumlu Ekonomik Belirtilere Sevinmek Için Çok Erken

Strateji ve Maliye Bakani Bahk Jae-wan, yakin zamandaki ekonomik gelismelere erkenden sevinmemek gerektigine dair uyarida bulundu.

Bahk, çarsamba günü bir kriz yönetim toplantisinda ülkedeki ve disaridaki ekonomik gelismelerin, olumlu ekonomik isaretler ve Moody'nin Güney Kore hakim kredi oraninin görünümünü iyilestirmesinden kaynaklandigini açikladi.

Fakat Güney Kore'ye ekonomi baharinin geldigini söylemek için henüz çok erken oldugunu da ekledi. Tek bir kirlangicin sicak mevsimin gelmesini müjdelemedigini söyleyen bir atasözüne atifta bulunarak sözlerine devam etti.

Bakan, disaridaki ekonomik belirsizliklerin sürdügünü ve yakin zamanda ekonomik göstergelerdeki gelismelerin büyük oranda, oto sanayi gibi bazi endüstrilerin iyi isleyislerinin sonucu oldugunu söyledi. Artik Güney Kore'nin ekonomiyi canlandirmak için ne var ne yok yapmasi gerektiginin vakti oldugunu söyledi.

Bahk, ülkenin ekonomik iyilesme yasamasina yardimci olmalari için her bir ekonomi alanindan ellerinden gelenin en iyisini yapmalarini istedi.

Strategy and Finance Minister Bahk Jae-wan is warning against prematurely celebrating recent improvements in the economy.

In a crisis management meeting Wednesday, Bahk explained economic improvements at home and abroad stem from positive economic indicators and Moody’s upgrade of its outlook for South Korea’s sovereign credit rating.

However, he added it is too early to say that an economic spring has arrived in South Korea. He followed by referencing an old saying that a single swallow doesn't herald the arrival of the warm season.

The minister said external economic uncertainties still exist, and the recent improvements in economic indicators are largely results of some industries’ good performance, such as the auto sector. He said now is the time for South Korea to do its utmost to vitalize the economy.

Bahk asked each economic player to do their best to help the nation achieve economic recovery.

Exports of S. Korean Agricultural, Marine Products Up Sharply

Güney Kore’nin Tarim ve Deniz ürünleri Ihracati Hizla Artti

Güney Kore hükümeti geçtigimiz Ocak-Mart aylari araliginda 1,8 bilyon dolardan fazla tarim ve deniz ürünlerin ihracat ettigini açikladi.

Gida, Tarim, Orman ve Balikçilik Bakanliginin sali günkü açiklamasina göre bu tür ürünlerin ihracati bu yil 11% artti ve geçen ay 1,82 trilyon dolara ulasti.

Ayri ürünlere bakarsak, armut, kurutulmus yosun, ramyeon ve Kore’nin meshur içkisi soju ihracati büyük bir artis gösterdi. Güney Kore'nin gida ürünleri Birlesik Arap Emirligi’nde ve ABD’nin bazi bölgelerinde oldukça meshurdur.

The government says South Korea exported more than one-point-eight billion dollars of agricultural and marine products between January and March.

The Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced on Tuesday that exports of such products surged eleven percent year-on-year to one-point-82 billion dollars last month.

By items, exports of pears, dried laver, ramyeon and the popular Korean liquor soju, showed strong figures. South Korean food products were highly popular in the United Arab Emirates and parts of the United States.
