Boeun, Chungcheongbuk Eyaleti'nin ortasındadır ve eyaletteki 3 il ve 9 ilçeden biridir. Sobaeksanmaek Dağları ve Noryeongsanmaek Dağları arasında bulunan tipik bir havzadır. Bocheongcheon akarsuyu, eyaletin kuzeybatı bölgesinden, eyaletin kalbi Boeun ilçesinden geçer. Bocheongcheon akarsuyu çevresindeki bölgeler zengin tahıl bölgeleridir.

Şehrin Maskotu:
Karakterler, yeni mileniumun başlangıcına katılacak olan Jeongi ve Songi’dir. Onlar, Boeun-gun’u temsil eden Jeongipum Çam Ağacı’nın canlı örnekleridir.


Şehrin Çiçeği: Forsythia (Hor Çiçeği)
Bu çiçek, uzun süreli barışı sembolize eder. Bu yüzdende Boeun insanları tarafından sevilir ve Boeun Bölgesi’nin her yerinde dağıtılır.


Şehrin Ağacı: Hünnap Ağacı
Jujube Ağacı, Boeun bölgesinin özel üretimidir. Bu yüzden çoğunlukla Boeun insanları için gelir kaynağıdır. Ayrıca bu ağaç için bir halk şarkısı da vardır.


Şehrin Kuşu: Saksağan
Saksağan, güzel haberler getiren bir kuş olarak kabul edilir. Bu yüzden bölge insanları tarafından sevilir ve bölgenin her yerinde bulunur.

Population: 34,725 (2013)

Boeun-gun is located in the middle south of Chungcheongbuk-do and is one of the administrative districts in the province, 3 cities and 9 guns. It is a typical basin located in between the steep ranges of Sobaeksanmaek (Mts.) and Noryeongsanmaek (Mts.). Bocheongcheon (Stream), originating from the north west region of the province, runs through Boeun-eup, the heart of the province. It finally merges into the main stream of Geumgang (River) at Hapgeum-ri, Cheongseong-myeon, Okcheon-gun with forming a reverse S shape. The surrounding area of Bocheongcheon (Stream) is the richest grain district in the province.

The symbol mark is a figuration of ‘Bo’ and ‘Eun’ of Boeun.

County Mascot:
The characters are Jeongi and Songi who will join the start of a new millennium. They were the personification of Jeongipum Pine Tree that represents Boeun-gun.


County flower : Forsythia (Golden Bell)
The flower symbolizes peace for a long time. So it is loved by all the Boeun-gun people and it is distributed all over the Boeun district.


County tree : Jujube tree
Jujube is a special production of Boeun district, so it takes on the mainly income source for the Boeun county people and we have a kind of folk song about this tree.


County bird : Magpie bird
The magpie is called a bird of auspicious omen which can inform us of delightful news and hope in advance. So we all love this bird and it can be found all over the Boeun district.

Tarihi

Boeun, 3 Han döneminde Mahan olarak adlandırılırdı. Üç Krallık Dönemi’nde, Orta bölge Baekje Krallığı’na aitti. Silla Krallığı ise güneyi işgal etti ve daha sonra kuzeye doğru ilerlemeye başladı. Böylece iki krallık arasında çatışma sınırı oldu.

13. yüzyılda Kral Jabi, Samnyeonsanseong (Dağ Kalesi Duvarı)’u inşa ettirdi ve Baekje Krallığı ile sınır oldu (470 yılında). Taht sürecinin 3. yılında Kral Jijeung, yeni bölge sistemi gereğince Samnyeonsan-gun olarak yeni ad verdi (502 yılında).

553 yılında, Kral Jinheung’in taht süresinin 14. yılı esnasında, ulusun gücünü göstermek adına Songni Dağı’nda Beopju Tağınağı inşa edildi. Kral Gyeongdoek’un 16. yılında (575 yılında) ismi Samnyeon-gun olarak değiştirildi.

Silla’nın bozulduğu ve Goryeo Hanedanı’nın topraklarını birleştirdiği zaman, isminin uyumlu olmadığı kabul edilerek, ismi Boryeong olarak değiştirildi (1018 yılında).

Joseon Hanedanı’ndan Kral Taejong’un taht hakimiyetinin 16, yılında, adı Boeun olarak değiştirildi ve bölgede barış sağlama görevi verildi (1416 yılında).

Boeun, 1 Temmuz 1973 tarihinde şehir olarak adlandırılmıştır (Boeun-eup).

İlçenin birçok yerel efsaneleri, ünlü kişileri ve kültürel değerleri vardır.

History Of Boeun County

Boeun-gun used to belong to Mahan in the Three Han period. During the Three Kingdoms period, as Baekje took over the middle region whereas Silla occupied the southern region and then moved toward to the north, it became a conflict border area between the two kingdoms.

In the 13th year of Silla King Jabi (A.D. 470), Samnyeonsanseong (Mountain Fortress Wall) was built to be a base to march north and became a border with Baekje. In the 3rd year of King Jijeung (A.D. 502), it was named as Samnyeonsan-gun in accordance with the province prefecture system that was newly enforced.

During the 14th year of King Jinheung (A.D. 553), Beopjusa (Temple) was established in Mt. Songni, a border region, to display the power of the nation, and it was renamed as Samnyeon-gun in the 16th year of King Gyeongdoek (A.D. 575).

When Silla perished and the Goryeo Dynasty united the land, the name was changed back to Boryeong (protect, age) which meaning was falsely denoted as Boryeong (protect, magistrate). In the 9th year of King Hyeonjong (A.D. 1018), it belonged to Sangjumok to which a district magistrate was appointed in the 2nd year of King Myeongjong (A.D. 1172).

In the 16th of King Taejong (A.D. 1416) of the Joseon Dynasty, it was changed to Boeun and a prefecture magistrate was appointed. In the 13th year, it was transferred from Sanjumok, Gyeongsang-do to Chungcheong-do. During the reign of King Sunjo, it was promoted to be as a Gunsu and changed to Gun in the 32nd year of King Gojong (A.D. 1895).

Boeun-myeon was promoted as Eup on July 1, 1973 .
