Güney Kore’nin dini grupları Papa Francis’in seçilmesini memnuniyetle karşıladı.
Kore Katolik Piskoposlar Birliği başkanı Jeju piskoposu Kang Woo-il bir bildiri yayınladı ve yeni Papa’nın barışın öncüsü haline gelmesini umduğunu dile getirdi.
Koreli piskopos, Katolik Kilisesi’nin dünya ile iletişim kurması ve barışa dönük çalışması yönündeki umudunu da dile getirdi.
Kendi adına Güney Koreli Budistler de yeni Katolik lideri için bir tebrik mesajı yayınladı.
Ülkenin en büyük Budist mezhebi Jogye Tarikatı’ndan Kutsal Jaseung, ülkedeki tüm Budistler ile birlikte seçimi tebrik ettiğini açıkladı.

South Korea’s religious groups have welcomed the election of Pope Francis.
The president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea (CBCK), bishop of Jeju Peter Kang Woo-il, released a statement, and expressed hope that the new pontiff becomes an apostle of peace.
The Korean bishop also expressed hope that the Catholic Church communicates with the world and works towards peace.
South Korea’s Buddhists on its part also released a congratulatory message to the new Catholic leader.
The Venerable Jaseung of the nation’s largest Buddhist sect Jogye Order said that he congratulates the election along with all Buddhists in the nation.
