A facility that turns sea water into drinking water has been built in an eastern coastal region in East Timor.
The six-million-dollar water facility was financed by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), which specializes in overseas development assistance.
South Korea provided machinery and experts for the construction of the treatment center at the request of East Timor’s government.
The people of the Southeast Asian country are excited about the facility, which will help ease the shortage of drinking water in the there.
The KOICA will supply drinking water to the residents of the nation’s capital Dili from mid-August.
