Uisangdae (의상대) is located on a seaside hill, on the way to Hongnyeonam Hermitage’s Gwaneumgul Cave from Naksan Temple. It is a small temple, believed to have been built by Great Monk Uisang (625-702) during King Munmu’s reign (661-681) during Siila Period, on the spot where Uisang used to meditate while building Naksansa Temple. The current pavilion was built in 1925.

Hongnyeonam Hermitage is a place you shouldn’t miss when you visit the octagonal Uisangdae. Believed to be built 5 years after Naksansa Temple, it is also where Great Monk Uisang used to meditate. It was named Hongnyeonam ('Hong' meaning 'red' and 'Ryeon' meaning 'lotus flower') because there is a legend that a red lotus flower bloomed in the sea during Great Monk Uisang’s seven days of prayer. It is built against the cliff beside a rocky cave, making it part of a great scenery, and the sunrise from Uisangdae is absolutely spectacular.

Songgang Jeongcheol, who was a poet from the mid Joseon Period (1392-1910) expressed his feeling on the spectacle of sunrise from Uisangdae like this: “After the pear-tree flowers have fallen and when the cuckoo cries sadly, beyond the hill east of Naksan Mountain at Uisangdae, I get up in the middle of night to see the sun rise. The auspicious clouds look like they are blooming, and the sun look as if it is being held up by six dragons. As the sun rises majestically from the sea to the sky, the whole world shakes and the sun rises swiftly, shining more brightly than a thousand candles.” That is how much wonder the view of sunrise from Uisangdae has created from long ago.

Introduction
Standing on a rock next to a stream, Poseokjeongji (Poseokjeong Pavilion - surface area 7,432㎡) was designated as private monument No.1 on January 21, 1963. The location is originally where the royal villa of the Silla Kingdom (57 B.C.~A.D. 935) had been, but the building no longer exists, and only a stone waterway shaped as a shell is left in its place.

Poseokjeongji (Poseokjeong Pavilion) was named so as the shape of the rock grooves, winding and shaped like an abalone. Poseokjeong is built with 63 kinds of rock materials. It is 35cm wide, 26cm deep on average, and the total length is about 10 meters. It is said that the Namsan Valley water was brought here, and was spewed out through a stone turtle, but the stone turtle does not remain today.

This is where the Silla Kings had come with their officials and nobles. It is said that they would float their wine glasses on the water where the water would flow along the stone groove, and they would recite poems before their glasses floated up to them.

Next to Poseokjeongji (Poseokjeong Pavilion), Poseok valley was also much loved by the Silla people for its clean water and beautiful features. That is precisely why the palace villa of Silla was built here. Nowadays there are zelkovas, pine and bamboo woods preserving the cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

Introduction
Naganeupseong Folk Village is located in Jeollanam Province, and contains a town castle that is over 18,000 Pyeong (1 pyeong = 3.3 sq m) in size. Within the east, south and west of the castle, about 100 families still reside, and the castle area has been very well preserved. You can observe the daily dwellings indigenous to the south provincial area such as the kitchen area, the clay rooms, and Korean-style verandas. There are also 9 houses designated as important cultural resources, and numerous straw-roof houses as well. The folk village’s other source of pride is the monument of General Im Kyeong-Eop (1594~1646). At every first full moon of the new year, they hold a ritual ceremony and celebration at the general’s monument, with games such as seesaw jumping, swings, and other folk activities.
When you enter the front gate of Naganeupseong Folk Village, on the east side of the castle (called “Nakpung-ru”), you see a straight road leading to town. Follow along this road and you will come across the General Im Kyeong-Eop Monument, resource center, and other interesting sites. You may also walk to the end of this road, climb up to the castle itself, and walk along the castle wall to the south. The entire castle is exceptionally well-preserved, and you can view the whole town from the top level.

Joseon hanedanlığı boyunca, hükümet yetenekli âlimlere orta öğrenim imkânı tanıyan Hyangolarin her ilçede inşa edilmesini teşvik etmiştir.
The name 'Daejeong' Hyanggyo derives from its original location inside Daejong Fortress, where it was established for the first time in 1408. The hyanggyo was moved in 1653 to the present site at the foot of Tansan hillock.

During the Joseon dynasty, the government encouraged the construction of hyanggyo in each county as a means of providing secondary education to promising scholars. However, their status declined from the late 16th century onward as private academies (seowon) generally supplanted hyanggyo. Both institutions generally comprised a lecture hall flanked by student domitories, with a shrine courtyard to the rear (or occasionally, at the front).

Hyanggyo are no longer used for education, but their use for rituals continues: twice a year Seokjeonjae (Confucian ceremonies) are performed in spring and autumn in honor of Confucius and later sages. At this site, incense is also burned twice a month on the 1st and 15th of the lunar calendar.

Traditionally In Korea, a wall-fortress was erected in each town to keep it safe from invasions. In this area called Dongnae, there were some borough-states after the Samhan period (the 1st century BC), Geochilsan-guk, Chilsan-guk, Jangsan-guk and Dongno-guk states are told to have been included among these. It is believed that walls had been already built here at that time.

However, the first mention about the Dongnae eupseong that appears in historical records is that the wall was repaired in 1021, the twelfth year of the reign of King Hyeonjong of Goryeo Dynasty.

Since the Japanese began their invasions into Korea on April 14, 1592, this Dongnae eupseong, along with the Busanjin wall-fortress, became the first target by the Japanese. Siege of Dongnae ensued here, in which General Song Sang-hyeon and all the other officials, troops and common people lost their lives.

The wall was repaired and expanded in 1713, extending its circumference to 5,240 meters. It had four gates: Jihuiru (east), Simseongnu (west), Muuru (south), and Eunillu (north). A wing fortress was built upon the south gate and small fortifications were erected on the other three gates too. At present, there are some restored structures inside the wall, including the north gate with a fortification on its top, Dongjangdae and Seojangdae, and Bukjangdae,Insaengmun (Gate), Chiseong wall and a fortified small wall surrounding a gate.

Günümüzde, en üstünde bir takviyeyle kuzey duvarı, Dongjangdae, Songjangdae, Bunkjangdae, Insaengmun (Kapı), Chiseong duvarı, bir kapıyı çevreleyen takviye edilmiş küçük bir duvar dâhilinde, duvarın içerisinde birkaç onarılmış yapı vardır.

Heykelin önünde ki Chaekgul Dr Wangin'in yardımsever karakterini simgelediği söylenir.
Ünlü bilgin Baekje, Japon İmparatoru Eungshin'in isteği üzerine yaptığı yolculuğa başlıyordu.
Introduction

The hometown of Wangin Baksa (Wangin, the Great Scholar) is located at the foot of Munpilbong Peak to the east of Gurim village. Due to Wangin’s importance and contributions to Korean history, this historical attraction is preserved and maintained in honor of his memory and achievements.
Seonggidong is the official birthplace of Dr. Wangin (marked by the Yuheobi memorial monument) and is also home to Seongcheon; the well Wangin is believed to have drunk from. Halfway up Mt. Wolchulsan are Chaekgul, Munsanjae and Yangsajae where Wangin is said to have studied as well as nurtured local pupils. To commemorate the significance of these areas, a memorial is held every March at Munsanjae and Yansanjae.
In front of Chaekgul is a statue of Dr. Wangin which is said to symbolize his benevolent character. Just west of Seonggidong is Doljeonggogae, a hill from which it is believed Dr. Wangin made a sorrowful look back at his countrymen before leaving for Japan.
Wangin departed for Japan from Sangdaepo, which at the time was an international trading port. The renowned Baekje scholar was beginning his journey at the request of Japanese Emperor Eungshin. He took with him ten books on the Analects of Confucius and a book of Cheonjamun, a text of one thousand Chinese characters. Over time, he earned the trust of the emperor and became instructor to the crown prince. Wangin is well-known for his part in the development of Japanese culture and his name appears often in Japanese history. Wangin educated beyond textbooks and made great contributions to the development of arts, crafts and music and is revered as the originator of Japan’s Asuka culture.
This historic site was originally reconstructed from 1985 to 1987 and is continually receiving improvements to improve accessibility for visitors.
Heykelin önünde ki Chaekgul Dr Wangin'in yardımsever karakterini simgelediği söylenir.
Ünlü bilgin Baekje, Japon İmparatoru Eungshin'in isteği üzerine yaptığı yolculuğa başlıyordu.
