Light traffic on highways

Karayollarında Hafif Trafik

2 Şubat 2014 tarihinde Lunar Yeni Yıl tatilinin son günü Güney Jeolla Eyaleti'nin Gwangju şehrine yakın bir otoyol olan Honam Kara yolunda hafif trafik görülüyor. Çoğu tatil ziyaretçileri son gün gelmeden evlerine döndüler.

Temperatures Plunge in South Korea as Lunar Calendar Marks Spring

Güney Kore'de Baharın Geldiğini Gösteren Ay Takvimine Rağmen Sıcaklıklar Düşüşte

Ay takvimine göre salı baharın ilk günü ancak sert soğuklar başka bir hikaye anlatıyor.

Kore Meteoroloji İdaresi, Seoul'de sıcaklığın sabah 05:00'te -9.6 santigrat derece olduğunu açıkladı. Bu değer pazartesi gününden sekiz derece daha düşüktür. Başkentte rüzgarın soğukluğu neredeyse eksi 15 derece seviyesindedir.

Sabah Daegwallyeong'da -12.9 derece, Cheorwon'da -12.8 derece ve Jeonju'da -6.8 dereceydi.

Özellikle güney ve batı kıyı bölgeleri olmak üzere ülkenin bir çok yerinde soğuk hava dalgası konusunda uyarılar yapıldı.

Hava durumu ajansı, perşembeden itibaren soğuk havanın yumuşayacağını söyledi.

The lunar calendar marked the first day of spring on Tuesday but bitter cold temperatures told a different story.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said the temperature in Seoul was minus nine-point-six degrees Celsius in Seoul at 5 a.m. That’s down more than eight degrees from Monday. The wind chill stood at nearly minus 15 degrees Celsius in the capital.

Morning lows stood at minus 12-point-nine degrees in Daegwallyeong, minus 12-point-eight degrees in Cheorwon and minus six-point-eight in Jeonju.

Cold snap advisories or warnings have been issued for most parts of the country expect some western and southern coastal areas.

The weather agency said the cold weather will ease up from Thursday.
