Scandal-hit Football League to Ask For Games off Sports Lottery

Futbol Ligi’ndeki Spor Piyangosunda Çikan Oyunlar Skandali Sorulacak

Son maç tespit skandallari karsisinda Güney Kore’nin birinci futbol ligi milli spor piyangosunun çikardigi oyunlari almak ile ilgili olayi ilgili makamlara soracaklarini söyledi.

K-Ligi genel müdürlerinin dört saatlik toplantisi sonrasinda alinan karar 16 takima ve üst düzey lig yetkililerinin tamamina persembe günü bildirildi. Devlete ait Kore Spor Tanitma Vakfi (KSPO) Güney Kore’deki tek lisansli spor piyangosu olan Spor Toto’ya teklif sundu ve ayni zamanda bahisler beyzbol, basketbol, voleybol ve golfde de olabilecek.

In response to recent match-fixing scandals, South Korea's top-division football league said it will ask relevant authorities to take its games off the national sports lottery.

The K-League reached the decision following a four-hour meeting of general managers from all 16 teams and senior league officials on Thursday. The state-run Korea Sports Promotion Foundation (KSPO) offers Sports Toto, the only licensed sports lottery in South Korea, and wagers can also bet on baseball, basketball, volleyball and golf.

Manchester United’in orta saha oyuncusu Park Ji-sung pazar günü Londra’da Wembley Stadyumu’nda Barcelona karsisindaki Sampiyonlar Ligi Finali için bekliyor. Persembe günü Evening Standard ile yaptigi röportajda Park, “Barcelona karsisindaki Sampiyonlar Ligi Finali bana kalirsa dünyanin en büyük oyunu olacak. Dünyadaki her oyuncu böyle bir firsati yakalamak isterdi.” açiklamasini yapti.

Barcelona’nin 2009 yilindaki Sampiyonlar Ligi’ndeki 2-0 kaybini hatirlatarak Park bunu geri ödemek için bir firsat oldugunu söyleyerek emin oldugunu belirtti. Park “Barcelona’dan korkmuyoruz. Onlar dünyanin en iyi takimlarindan birisi ama biz kendi kalitemize sahibiz. Onlari yenmemiz için tüm gücümüzle oynamamiz gerekecek.” dedi.

Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung is waiting for the UEFA Champions League final against Barcelona in Wembley Stadium in London on Sunday. In an interview with the Evening Standard on Thursday, Park said, "A Champions League final against Barcelona is the biggest game in the world as far as I'm concerned. Every player in the world wants to play at an occasion like this."

Recalling the 0-2 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League in 2009, Park expressed confidence that this is opportunity to pay back. "We are not scared of Barcelona. They are one of the best teams in the world, but we have our own quality. We will have to play to our strengths to beat them," he said.

Men and women of the national archery team are facing off in a battle of the sexes as part of a training exercise for upcoming competition.

The practice is being held in a ballpark with a real crowd and other potential distractions the archers will be faced with at the world championships in July.

The excessive noise produced by the crowd and loudspeakers have gotten the world class archers off to a slow start, however, the training is only intended to boost their concentration and confidence level.

The archers gradually settle in to the boisterous environment and return to their usual level of performance as the match winds down.

3 More Pro Football Players Under Probe in Match-fixing Scandal

Maç Sabitleme Skandali Kapsaminda 3 Profesyonel Futbolcuya Sorusturma Açildi

Güney kiyi kentindeki savcilar cumartesi günü üç profesyonel futbolcuya maç sabitleme skandalina karistiklari iddiasi ile sorusturma açilacagini söyledi.

Hepside Daejeon sehrinde bulunan Daejeon Citizen kulübünden olan üç futbolcu savcilar tarafindan geçen hafta baslayan sorusturmada sorgulanmak üzere son kez çagirildi. Cuma günü dört Daejeon Citizen oyuncusu savcilar tarafindan sorgulandigi belirtilmisti.

Prosecutors in this southern coastal city said Saturday they were questioning three more pro football players for alleged involvement in a widening game-fixing scandal.

The three, all from Daejeon Citizen club based in the central city of Daejeon, were the latest to be summoned by prosecutors for questioning in the probe that began last week. On Friday, four Daejeon Citizen players appeared for questioning by prosecutors.
