Suwon-si (수원시) Gyeonggi-do (경기도), South Korea

Ziyaretçiler dün, yeni orkide çesitlerinin ihraç edilmesi ve gelismesini desteklemek amaciyla Kirsal Kalkinma Idaresi tarafindan Gyeonggi, Suwon'da gerçeklestirilen bir sergi sirasinda orkidelere bakarlar. Sergide yaklasik 50 orkide çesiti sergilenmistir.

Visitors yesterday look at orchids during an exhibition held in Suwon, Gyeonggi, by the state-run Rural Development Association to promote the development and export of new orchid types. About 50 types of orchids are on display at the exhibition.

S. Korean Icebreaker in Antarctica

Güney Kore üretimli buzkiran Araon ve mürettabati Bati Antarktika'da poz verdi.Ilk olarak geçen yil kullanilan ve osinografik, jeofizik ve kutup ortam laboratuvarlariyla donatilan Araon, 7487 ton agirliginda ve 37.000 km, yaklasik 30 gün, yol gidebilme dayaninikligina sahip.

The crew of South Korean icebreaker Araon pose on the ice in western Antarctica on Jan. 29. Christened last year and equipped with various oceanographic, geophysical and arctic environment laboratories, the 7,487-ton ship has an endurance of 37,000 kilometers, or about 70 days. The ship is testing its ice-breaking capabilities on its months-long maiden voyage.

Kim Nam Gil is destined to help Haiti

Kim Nam Gil, Haiti depremzedeleri için yapilan yardimda gönüllülerle birlikte yer aldi.Aktör,onlara yardim etmek için gönderilmis gibi hissettigini söyledi."Bu çocuklar depremden bir gün önce gülüp oynuyorlardi oysa simdi ailelerini ve evlerini kaybettiler.Bu tür dogal afetlerin sonucunu idrak edebilmek korkutucu ve zor.Gerçekten bu çocuklarin hislerini anlayabiliyorum ve onlara yardim edebilecegimi umuyorum." dedi.

Kim Nam Gil took part to help with volunteers for the victims of Haiti earthquake.The actor mentioned that he felt like he is destined to help with these victims. He told, “These children were just playing and jumping around happily the day before the earthquake, and now they lost their parents and their homes. The result of these kinds of natural disaster is scary and hard to comprehend. I really feel for these children and hope that I can help them in any way I could.”

Customers at Shinsegae Department Store in central Seoul try out musical instruments as part of the Yamaha Music Fair yesterday. The Japanese maker of musical instruments is sponsoring the event until next Tuesday.

Tourists yesterday walk through a passage on a sea bed at Muchangpo Beach in Boryeong, South Chungcheong. As sea water ebbs, the sea bed appears on the surface and can be traversed.

Busan'daki Haeundae Plaji'nda, dondurucu sogukluktaki okyanusta gerçeklesen Polar Bear Swim (Kutup Ayisi Yüzme) turnuvasina katilanlar yüzmenin tadini çikarir. Her sene yapilan bu etkinlige yabanci turistler dahil yaklasik 1,200 kisi katilmistir.

Participants in the Polar Bear Swim tournament enjoy swimming in the freezing cold ocean at Haeundae Beach in Busan on Jan. 31. About 1,200 people, including foreign tourists, participated in the annual event.

Modeller dün, Seoul'ün merkezindeki Lotte Mart'in Seoul Station subesinde, Kaplan Yili olmasi durumuna baglamak amaciyla ramenden yapilan beyaz bir kaplanin önünde yeni ürünle birlikte poz verir. Lotte Group'a bagli eski sirketlerden biri olan Lotte Industrial, 1965'ten 1973'e kadar ramen üretimi yapmistir. 1978 yilinda, Lotte Industrial'in ismini Nongshim olarak degistirmesinden itibaren yeni sirket, hit ürün olan Shin Ramen de dahil ramen üretimi yapmistir. Lotte'nin yeni markasi simdi, Kore'nin en büyük aperatif ve ramen üreticisi olan Nongshim ile rekabet edecek.

Lotte Mart has introduced its own instant noodle product, dubbed Lotte Ramen. At Lotte Mart’s Seoul Station branch in central Seoul yesterday, models pose with the new product in front of a white tiger made of ramen, tying into the fact that this is the Year of the Tiger. Lotte Industrial, a former affiliate of the Lotte Group, used to manufacture ramen from 1965 to 1973. Since Lotte Industrial changed its name to Nongshim in 1978, the new company has been manufacturing ramen, including the hit product Shin Ramen. Lotte’s new brand will now compete with Nongshim, Korea’s biggest snack and ramen maker.
