Üniversite sinavi yeniden düzenlenecek ve kolaylastirilacak

Üniversiteye giris için yapilan yetenek sinavi, ögrencileri sürekli olarak ek ders alma mecburiyetinden kurtarmak için 2013'ten itibaren yeniden düzenlenecek ve kolaylastirilacak.

Egitim Bakani Lee Ju-ho'nun yaptigi açiklamaya göre, 2013'te ögrencilere Korece, Ingilizce ve Matematik sinavlarinda kolay ve zor seviye olmak üzere iki alternatif sunulacak. Ayrica, her ögrencinin 11 sosyal ders arasindan mecburi olarak girmesi gereken sinav sayisi 3'ten 2'ye indirilecek.

CSAT to be streamlined and get a bit easier

The College Scholastic Ability Test will be streamlined and made a bit easier by 2013 to reduce students from the burden of going to endless school classes.

According to the education ministry, the test given in 2013 will allow student to choose an easier or harder version of the Korean language, English and math tests. And the number of tests each student has to take in 11 social subjects will be reduced from three to two.

Mezuniyet, lise ögrencileri için özgürlüge bir adim daha yaklasmak demek. Önümüzdeki ayki mezuniyet günü yaklastigindan dolayi, yetkililer mezunlarin çok gürültülü ve yariçiplak kutlama yapmasini engelleyecek.
Egitim Bakanligi, Seoul sehrindeki tüm ögretmenlerin mezuniyet törenleri sona erdiginde kendi okullarini oda oda gezerek kontrol etmekle görevlendirilecegini duyurdu.

This year, graduates will have to keep clothes on

For the high school students the graduation is a step toward freedom, and as graduation day approaches next month, authorities are going to prevent graduates from celebrating too raucously or naked. The Ministry of Education has announced it will deploy all teachers in the city of Seoul to patrol their own schools as soon as graduation ceremonies finish.

Korean Test for Job-seeking Foreigners to Become More Difficult

Is Arayan Yabancilar Için Yapilan Korece Sinavi Zorlasacak

Kore’de is bulabilmek için yabancilarin geçmesi gereken Kore dili yetenek sinavlari bu yildan itibaren daha da zorlasacak.

Çalisma Bakanligi cumartesi günü bu yildan itibaren Kore dil testi ile ilgili gizli sorularin oraninin asamali olarak artirilacagini belirtti. Sinav eskiden, daha evvel hazirlanmis iki bin soruluk bir havuzdan hazirlaniyordu.

Bakanlik standart bir Kore dili ders kitabi gelistirmeyi ve yabancilarin is için Kore’ye geldigi ülkelere bu kitaplari dagitmayi plânlamaktadir. Bu ders kitaplarinda yetenek testi için sorular bulunacak.

Bir bakanlik yetkilisi testin, profesyonel olmayan yabanci çalisanlarin seçiminde adalet ve güvenirlik düzeyinin yükselmesine katkida bulunurken, bazilarinin testte yalnizca Kore dilinde çok iyi olan yabancilari seçme ve yabancilari Korece'de iyi olmak için kosullandirmada sinirlayici oldugu göze çarpmaktadir dedi.

Bakanlik, üretim sektöründe is arayan yabancilar için teknik beceri sinavlari yapmayi da planliyor. Günümüzde sadece zirai alanda ve balikçilik endüstrisinde çalismayi isteyen yabancilar böyle sinavlara girmeye mecbur tutuluyor.

Korean language proficiency tests that foreigners must take in order to get jobs in the nation will become more difficult starting this year.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor said Saturday that from this year, it will gradually increase the proportion of undisclosed questions on the Korean language test. Previously, the test was drafted from a pool of two-thousand questions disclosed beforehand.

The ministry plans to develop a standard Korean language textbook and distribute it to countries where many foreigners come to Korea for work. It will present the questions for the proficiency test in these textbooks.

A ministry official said that while the test had contributed to raising levels of fairness and transparency in selecting non-professional migrant workers, some have pointed out that the test had limits in selecting foreigners who are outstanding in the Korean language and in convincing foreigners to be proficient in Korean.

The ministry also plans to have foreigners seeking jobs in the manufacturing sector take technical skill tests. Currently, only foreigners hoping to work in the agro-livestock and fishing industries are obligated to take such tests.

Hükümetin bildirdigine göre, Güney Kore daha simdiden milyonlarca çiftlik hayvaninin ölümüne yol açan hayvan hastaliklarinin yayilmasini azaltmak için çogu okulda kis tatilinin uzatilmasini degerlendiriyor.

Egitim, Bilim ve Teknoloji Bakanligi, basta hayvan hastaliklarinin yogun olarak görüldügü bölgeler olmak üzere tüm bölgesel egitim dairelerine okullarin açilacagi tarihin ertelenmesi konusunun degerlendirilmesine yönelik özel bir bildiri gönderdi.

South Korea is considering an extension of winter break for most schools to reduce the continuing spread of animal diseases that have already led to the culling of millions of livestock, the government said Sunday.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said it has issued a special dispatch to all regional education offices to consider delaying the reopening of schools, especially in areas where the animal diseases are most rampant.

S. Korea to send 10,000 teachers abroad by 2015

South Korea will send about 10,000 outstanding teachers and preliminary teachers on overseas training programs by 2015 to help advance their teaching capabilities, Education Minister Lee Ju-ho said.

The plan is also aimed to broaden job opportunities of teacher aspirants.

Court fines teacher for hitting student on the hands

Mahkeme Ögrencinin Eline Vuran Ögretmeni Para Cezasina Çarptirdi

Yetkililerin cuma günü bildirdigine göre, Seoul mahkemesi bir lise ögretmenini ögrencinin eline vurup yara ve iltihaba sebep olmasi nedeniyle tazminat cezasina çarptirdi.

Seoul Kuzey Bölge Mahkemesi 52 yasindaki bayan ögretmen No'yu eski ögrencisine tazminat ve tedavi masraflarin içinde bulundugu 4.08 milyon won (3,662 Amerikan dolari) para ödeme cezasina çarptirdi. Ögrenci Jo, ögretmenin devamsizlik, geç kalma ve ödevlerini düzgün yapmamasindan dolayi ellerine birçok kez vurmasinin ardindan 25.47 milyon won tazminat talep etti. Kasim 2008'de kiza tahta bir sopayla yaklasik 40 kez vuruldu.

A Seoul court ordered a high school teacher to pay damages for hitting a student on the hands, giving her bruises and inflammations, officials said Friday.

The Seoul Northern District Court ordered the 52-year-old female teacher, identified only by her surname, No, to pay her former student 4.08 million won (US$3,662) in compensation and medical expenses, court officials said. The student, identified only by her surname of Jo, had requested 25.47 million won in damages after No repeatedly beat her on the hands for frequent absences, tardiness and for not doing her homework properly. She was beaten about 40 times with a wooden cane in November 2008.

Seoul sehri yönetimi, su anda küresel staj da dahil olmak üzere yabanci ögrenciler için çesitli programlar üzerinde çalisiyor. Ögrencileri de bu plan içerisine dahil etmeyi de planlamaktadirlar.

The Seoul Global Center is providing school orientation services for foreigners who will begin to attend South Korean schools next month.

The center, whose mission is to make living in Seoul more convenient for foreigners, will provide such services in cooperation with 12 colleges in Seoul.

Foreign students will be provided with basic data on living in Korea, including information on medical institutions, public transportation, driver’s licenses, cell phones and banks.

The center will also provide information to foreign students on Korea’s historical sites, tourist spots, libraries and major bookstores.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is currently running various programs for foreign students, including global internships. Seoul plans to have the foreign students who take part in the orientation also participate in such programs.

Seoul's elementary students cut in half over past two decades

The number of elementary school students in Seoul has been reduced by half over the past two decades, municipal officials said Sunday, an indication of steady demographic changes caused by a falling birthrate.

Citing government data, the Seoul Metropolitan Government said the number of the city's elementary school pupils totaled 566,149 last year, down 5.4 percent from the previous year.

Seoul National University decided Monday to sack a music professor accused of habitually using violence against her students, the school's vice president said.

The top South Korean university has been looking into allegations raised late last year that vocal music professor Kim In-hye habitually beat her students for not practicing enough, not being serious in class or for other reasons.
