Seondeung Festivali, Sancheoneo (dağ alabalığı) şeklindeki fenerler ve ışıklarla süslenmiş Seondeung caddesinde yer almaktadır.
Seondeung tam anlamıyla 'içinde taocu bir keşişın yaşadığı dünya' demektir. Aynı zamanda '3 rak (sevinç)' alanı, bir taocu keşiş olmayı, güzel bir kalp ve yapıya sahip olmayı ve şanslı olmayı temsil eder.
Seondeung caddesinin ışıklandırması Hwacheon Sancheoneo (dağ alabalığı) Buz Festivalinin başlangıcıdır ve yeniyıl dilekleri için bir tören içerir. Festivalde aydınlatma törenine ek olarak çeşitli gösteriler, fotoğraf çekme yarışması, tüm dünyadan geleneksel ışık sergisi ve kartpostallara dilek yazmak gibi her hafta farklı etkinlikliler yer almaktadır.

Introduction
Seondeung Festival takes place on Seondeung Street, with lights and lanterns in the shape of Sancheoneo (mountain trout) that illuminate the street with a soft glow.
Seondeung literally means "The lights showing the world in which a taoist hermit is living." It also means a place of "3 rak (joy)," representing the joy of becoming a taoist hermit, having a beautiful heart and constitution, and receiving a lot of luck.
The lighting of Seondeung Street is the opening event of the Hwacheon Sancheoneo (Mount Trout) Ice Festival, and includes a ceremony for New Year's wishes. In addition to the lighting ceremony, there are also various performances, a photo contest, an exhibition of traditional lights around the world and wish-writing on postcards, along with many other events every week of the festival.
