Park Sees Culture as 21st-Century Alchemy

Başkan Park Geun-hye, 25 Temmuz 2013 tarihinde Cheong Wa Dae'de kültürel zenginlik üzerine yapılan başkanlık komitesi toplantısına başkanlık etti. Park, "21. yüzyılın simyasına" büyük bir değer katan bilgi teknolojisi ve diğer sektörlerde kültürel içeriğin geliştirilmesine daha fazla odaklanmak gerektiğini vurguladı.

Education Ministry Looking into All School Camps

Eğitim Bakanlığı Tüm Okul Kamplarını İnceliyor

Ülkenin batı kıyısı açıklarında beş öğrencinin geçen hafta boğularak ölümünün ardından, Eğitim Bakanlığı ülke çapında ilk ve orta okullar tarafından yapılan tüm kamp faaliyetlerini incelemeye başladı.

Beş öğrenci Seoul'ün yaklaşık 150 km güneyindeki Taean Sahil'indeki bir yaz kampına katılan yaklaşık 200 lise öğrencisi arasındaydı. Kamp eğitmenleri tarafından denize girmesi istenen kurbanlar güçlü bir akım tarafından süpürüldü ve bir gün sonra ölü bulundu.

In the wake of the drowning deaths of five students off the country's west coast last week, the education ministry on Thursday began probing all camp activities conducted by primary and secondary schools nationwide.

The five students were among some 200 high school students attending a summer camp on Taean Beach, about 150 kilometers south of Seoul. The victims were swept away a week ago by a strong current when they walked into the sea as ordered by camp instructors and were found dead a day later.

Safeguards to prevent another work stoppage are key to reopening the shuttered inter-Korean factory park in North Korea, an official at South Korea's presidential office said Friday.

Bilateral talks aimed at reopening the Kaesong Industrial Complex effectively broke down Thursday after the two sides collided on how to prevent any unilateral closure of the business zone that has remained idle since early April.
