Ecological Survey of Dokdo

Dokdo Ekolojik Anketi

Kore Okyanus Bilimi ve Teknoloji Enstitüsü 12 Ağustos 2014 tarihinde, Sejong Hükümet Kompleksi'nin, Güney Kore'nin doğusunda bulunan Dokdo adası etrafında deniz sularının ekolojik anketinin sonuçları hakkında medyaya resmi bir kısa toplantı düzenledi. Enstitü, subtropikal balık ve deniz bitkilerinin sayısının son on yılda belirgin olarak artmış olduğu söylüyor.

North Koreans Found in Sea Opt to Defect to South

Deniz Yolunu Kullanan Kuzey Koreliler Güney'e İltica Ediyor

Seoul'deki yetkililer dün, iki Kuzey Koreli sivilin Sarı Deniz'de İnter-Kore deniz sınırını yüzerek Güney'e iltica ettiklerini söyledi.

Güney Kore Hükümeti ve ordusuna göre, iki erkek - biri 20'li yaşlarda ve diğeri 50'li - görünüşe göre İnter-Kore sınırını geçtikten sonra Güney Kore deniz piyadeleri tarafından Incheon Gyodong Adası yakınlarında saat 4:00'da yüzerken bulundu.

İki kişi denizcileri görünce yardım için bağırdı ve askere Güney'e iltica isteklerini bildirdiler.

Gyodong Adası ve Kuzey Kore kıyılarının en yakın alanı arasındaki mesafe yaklaşık 2.5 kilometre (1.5 mil).

İlticacıların kimliklerine ait bilgiler medyaya verilmedi. Güney'in Ulusal İstihbarat Servisi ilticacıların güzergahı ve iltica nedenlerini yönetmelikler uyarınca sorgulayacak. Sorgulama tamamlandığında Hanawon yerleşim merkezine gönderilecekler.

Kuzey Koreli sığınmacıların sıkı korunan deniz sınırı boyunca yüzerek rejimden kaçmaları oldukça nadirdir.

3 Temmuz'da da ahşap bir tekne ile Güney'in Baengnyeong Adası yakınına sürüklenen Kuzey Koreli adam bulunmuş ve iltica etmeye çalıştığı bildirilmişti.

Two North Korean civilians defected to the South by swimming across the inter-Korean maritime border in the Yellow Sea, officials from Seoul said yesterday.

According to the South Korean government and military, the two men - one in his 20s and the other in his 50s, respectively - were discovered at 4 a.m. swimming near Gyodong Island in Incheon by South Korean marines, apparently after having crossed the inter-Korean border.

When they saw the marines, the two men shouted for help and expressed their intention to defect to the South, the military said.

The distance between the Gyodong Island and the closest area of North Korean coast is about 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles), according to the military.

Information on the defectors’ identity has not been released to the media. The South’s National Intelligence Service will question the defectors, under internal regulations, on their route and reasons for defecting. If they pass questioning, they will be sent to the Hanawon resettlement center.

It is rare for North Korean defectors to flee the regime by swimming through the heavily guarded maritime border.

On July 3, a North Korean man in a wooden boat was found drifting near the South’s Baengnyeong Island and declared his intention to defect.

Pope Takes KTX to Daejeon

Papa Francis, 15 Ağustos 2014 tarihinde, ilk halk buluşmasına öncülük etmek üzere Güney Kore Daejeon KTX istasyonuna ulaştı. O Güney Kore'ye bir helikopterle gelecekti ama planında son dakika bazı değişiklikler yapıldı ve Seoul'ün güneyinde 160 kilometre uzaklıkta bulunan Daejeon'a trenle geldi.
