Changcheon’daki Osan adli dag, etrafinda yaygin olan sivrisinekleriyle ünlüdür. There is a mountain named OSAN in CHANGCHEON, which is notorious for the mosquitoes rampant around the area. A rich man, living in the area, put up an advertisement that he would give an ox to any one who would spend one night naked, bitten by the mosquitoes.
No one knew why. Anyway, no body volunteered until a single mother, who was very poor, advised her son to give it a try. He obeyed his mother and was spending the night on the grass naked. The mosquitoes, the size of a large spider, attacked him so hard that he could not bear it long, and said to his mother that he couldn't stand it any longer. Notwithstanding, she said,
"Bear it a little longer, and you will get an ox."
At last when the day broke, she found her son dead with mosquito bites all over his body. Until then, she did not realize her folly. He drove his son into the jaws of death to get an ox. She buried him on the mountain where he was bitten to death by mosquitoes, and the mountain was named OSAN.
