Sevgi tarafından ihanete uğrayan Suh Young-ju, bekar bir anne olarak kalmıştır. Hatta oğlu Jun-Young, ondan alınmıştır. Young-ju, uzak bir adada halk sağlığı merkezinde hemşire olarak çalışır. Bir gün, tüberküloz için hastaneye başvurur. Sağlık merkezinin başkanı Young-ju'nun hastalığı hakkında, eski sevgilisi Se-Jun'a mektup yazar. Jun-Young, annesinin Amerika'da olduğunu düşünür. Ama mektubu bulduğunda, gerçeği öğrenir. Jun-Young adaya gitmek için gizlice Mokpo ‘ya gider ama kayıp olarak raporlanınca evine gönderilir. Se-Jun, Young-ju'nun mevcut durumunu öğrenir. Jun-Young ile onun başucuna gider. Se-jun'un ailesi uğruna, Young-ju Jun-young'a verdiği sözü bozar. Engelli çocukları rehabilite ettiği bir işe girer. Synopsis
Betrayed by love, Suh Young-ju ends up an unwed mother. Even her son Jun-young is taken from her. Young-ju works as a nurse in a public health center on a remote island. One day, she is admitted to the hospital for tuberculosis. The head of the health center writes a letter to her former lover, Se-jun, regarding Young-ju's illness. Jun-young thought his mother was in America. But when he finds the letter, he learns the truth. Jun-young sneaks to Mokpo to go to the island but he is sent home after being reported missing. Se-jun found out about Young-ju's current state. He goes to her bedside with Jun-young. For the sake of Se-jun's family, Young-ju breaks her promise to Jun-young. She gets a job rehabilitating handicapped children. The rehabilitation facility forms a sisterhood with Jun-young's school. Se-jun and Young-ju have an emotional reunion.
